Cadillac Cork Sealer - Waterproof & Protect Cork Sandals & Fishing Rods From Drying Cracking & Flaking

I bought this to seal my single pair of birks back in May and never did it. Well, now I have 5 pairs of birks and finally used. I’m very pleased! I wasn’t sure what the consistency would be like and how far it would go for a single bottle, but after all 5 pairs, with some getting double coats, I still have more than half the bottle left, so it’ll go quite a while. My oldest pair of birks has moderate cork breakdown, but after applying a couple coats of this, I now feel much less like every step is just shedding cork—that is, the weak spots are all very secure now. There’s no smell, no color (it’s clear), and it goes a long way for the money. Attached is a pic of one of the pairs I sealed a few days ago. They look great!

Update: I got caught in a thunderstorm wearing my newly sealed Birkenstock Gizeh sandals. The leather upper and my feet were soaked but the cork layer remained dry. This works. Original Review: I purchased this Cadillac Cork Sealer to use on my Birkenstock sandals. I chose this product as it was recommended on a forum over the sealer kit sold by Birkenstock for the same purpose. I used vinegar to clean the cork, let it dry thoroughly and then applied the Cadillac Cork Sealer. This was easy to apply. It goes on white and dries clear and shiny. It's similar in consistency to Elmer's white glue. This darkened the cork and made it shiny, but not obnoxiously so. I'm very happy with this product.

This works just as well as the “recommended brand”. It goes on white but dries clear. The brush is the perfect width for the front of my Birks. I like the stiffness of the brush - it allows for great control while applying the seal. The only thing I would like to see different is an angled brush to make it easier to do the edges.

works great for my Birkenstocks ! They have lasted two years so far. I seal them at the beginning of the summer and when I clean them and put them away after the summer

This stuff is NOT a sealer. It is like water and directions say to clean up excess with water! NOT WATERPROOF! I bought this instead of my usual sealer because it said it protects and nourishes, but a sealer should be waterproof. Very misleading. Now I have to wait for my real sealer to get here.

Seems to work decent and comes with a brush. Multiple applications needed as it only lasts a few months. I have a rod I applied U40 cork sealer on that is over 5 years old and looks better than the brand new rod I just sealed with this Cadillac version. Do with this info what you will.

Quality, easy application. Perfect for the cork on your shoes because of protection. Good product and a good price.

Gives my Birks a nice look. Goes on white and dries clear. I do recommend putting this on!

Product seems to revitalize cork nicely. Does not take overly long to dry. However, for the price which is expensive, I would expect that the container be filled to a reasonable level, which it is not. I tried to take a picture to show what I’m referring to however, it’s hard to demonstrate. If you look past the neck of the container, you can see that the product doesn’t start until much further below.

This is the worst by far that I have ever used. There was no seal on the bottle and what was inside was like water. I applied 2 coats and I tell you this had to be water in the bottle not Cork sealer.
