I decided to get these red night lights as the baby sleep class I took suggested red light at night as it isn’t supposed to be as harsh or wake you up as much as a typical bright white/yellow light. I definitely believe that. You may think red would be a terrible idea but it’s very soothing and indeed does not fully wake you up. I have these in the bedroom and bathroom. It’s great for nighttime trips to the bathroom and diaper changes. It’s enough light so you don’t run into something but not so bright that you don’t want it on or squint because of it. The motion activation on these works great as well. It turns off instantly if there is a lot of light that it detects. Great price and love that it came as a four pack.

PRO: Great for night vision and brightness is good. The red light doesn't wreck your sleep and easy on the eyes. Perfect for getting up in the middle of the night. Best Nightlight ever for middle of the night... and I've had a lot over the years. Once your eye's are night adapted/dilated these are perfect. CON: These are not designed for walk from a bright room into a dark room and expect to see good... For that you need a white light. Your eyes/puples need to be dilated for darkness. Unit covers up part of the 2nd wall socket.

These nightlights are good and work just as advertised. They have automatic light sensors that activate the nightlight when light isn’t hitting them. The sensors activate the light if there is any substantial dimness, it does not require actual darkness. For example, with a bright overhead light on in the room, the nightlight remains off, but when I step between the overhead light and the nightlight, my shadow is enough to trigger the sensor and activate the nightlight. These nightlights are bright enough to allow you to walk through an otherwise dark room without bumping into things, but you can’t make out fine details of an object next unless it is directly next to the nightlight. My only complaint is that, because the light/dark sensors are so sensitive, the nightlights remain on in rooms that don’t receive direct light during the day. For example, keeping a nightlight in the corner of an upstairs landing results in it being on 24/7, because there isn’t a window that sheds light directly on that corner. For a set of 4 nightlights in 4 different lighting situations, you can expect that some of them will burn out sooner than others.

After our son was born, my wife and I found ourselves sleeping with lights on so we could easily check the baby, or get up to tend to him and see where we were going. I ordered a few of these to see if this would give us the same benefits, without interrupting the little bit of sleep we were getting. On the very first night we realize what a great option this was. Since then we have a few in our bedroom, a few in the nursery, and a couple strategically placed around the house. I would highly recommend these to anyone trying to provide a little late for themselves at night without interrupting your sleep or anyone else’s. When you first turn out the normal lights, it may seem very dark in the room, but I assure you once your eyes adjust these provide plenty of light to move around the room.

I have gotten this product at least twice before, and the only reason is, although they give me four, I keep leaving them when I travel! Hopefully I won’t keep doing that. But these are great lights, they are well-made, and as a former sailor, I can tell you that the best light for nighttime is red. Other lights get your eyes messed up and keep you from going back to sleep well. Red lights on boats at night. Keeps sailors able to go back up top, because they can still see in the dark, no white spots. I highly recommend these.

I don’t find that they really emit light to let you see around them, I can basically just see the light itself. That’s fine, and it’s useful to let people know whether the light is, so by entrances or stairs, but it’s not what I expected. They turn on in the dark, even a shadow, so they’re always on in the dark, they have no motion sensing.

i like that the dimensions of the product are made in such a way that other items can still be plugged into the top outlet. i use this night light to support my carbon monoxide detector. the sensor isn't so sensitive that it needs total darkness either, it will work in moderate darkness as well. lighting is diffuse enough to stare at in the dark without discomfort. the sensor is analogue and has a nice fade on/off as opposed to a sudden switch. hardware is surprisingly sturdy for plastic and doesn't weigh enough to fall out. will buy another 4-pack for other rooms. the light does not travel far so i mostly use them to calculate my position when walking to the fridge at night.

Used two for a few days. I've attached the picture of them both, you can see one is working the other one only glows (it was fine when I started using it, just in a few days it stopped working)
