GE Big Button Backlit Universal Remote Control for Samsung, Vizio, Lg

We have had multiple universal remotes. Some by the most reputable manufacturers that have cost 50 to 80 dollars over the years. Those have had their problems and often times don’t last as long as I wish (Durability wise). At less than 10 dollars it was time to give this a try. First thing I noticed was how it looks. I personally like that it is a uniform size. I think it looks better. The silver brushed to looks great. It is just shiny enough. The second thing I noticed was the backlight. Very nice. Bright, but not too bright. Some of the edge buttons are a little less lit. Not bad, you just might have to look a little closer perhaps in dark lighting. I didn’t need to, but it really depends on your eyesight. I also like how the lighting only turns on with the press of a button, and turns off in 10 seconds or less. Setup was super easy. Following the directions was simple to connect a Samsung TV and Blu-ray player, a Bose sound system and a Roku (cannot connect one that uses Bluetooth - must use IR). The provided codes all worked and using the buttons was easy. We have all 4 things connected to this and it is easy to use. I can control all menus for said items. I guess the one thing I wish is that on some of the more expensive remotes you can actually program different controller buttons to different devices without having to use the device buttons at the top (like making the volume always be the sound system and not the TV when other buttons control the TV or Roku). That would be nice, but not expected in a 10 dollar remote. Just a little while ago this could easily have cost more. It is a great value and very easy to use.

Very nice remote for multiple devices - TV, BluRay, MI box and Home Theater all older but all working properly with . Loved it - except for the buttons being too close together for my large fingers. Otherwise it's perfect. Would be fine for smaller fingers. I swapped it for https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088XWD1HP which has slightly smaller buttons but are farther apart. (Also doesn't control as many devices, but it does all of mine, so I'm good). It's a keeper.

This is a great remote. I had no trouble setting it up and I’m still enjoying it after a years use. There’s just one problem and to me it’s pretty annoying. There’s mute button has stopped working! I really depend on that feature so now I’m going to be looking for a new one. I’m so disappointed. I am not sure I’d recommend.

I've owned a number of universal remotes in the past and I prefer this GE remote. Obviously different home theater set ups and ergonomic preferences determine what's valued in a remote. I only have four primary components in my system so this remote actually gave me two more than I thought I needed. Firstly, I was surprised by it's deceptively sophisticated simplicity. It just looks like a stick in the pictures but in reality it's very well thought out and very ergonomic due to it's overall shape and rounded edges. It feels nice in the hand which is important to me; the bevel contour and cut outs on the underside contribute to this feel. Also there is no wasted space which allows it to be small and comfortable to hold. Some may feel the buttons are too close together but for me it's a plus since it takes very little movement to go from one control to another. And most importantly it works as advertised! The only issue I had was that I needed to use two different codes for my receiver to access different functions but since I had two extra control buttons I just used one of them for the additional function I wanted. I researched and reviewed quite a few other more expensive remotes and I was initially reluctant to buy this one because it was so inexpensive. Sometimes more expensive isn't the best solution! Simple, efficient, ergonomic and cheap, what more can you ask for?

I purchased this remote to alleviate the need for 3 remotes for our TCL Roku Smart TV, our Samsung soundbar and our Lg Dvd player. Programming this remote is a breeze. Each device was set within seconds. Pros: Great price. Easy to program devices. All functions are accessible for each device. This device is easy to hold. Keys are easily read and the bonus light up feature has been exceptionally handy...! Cons: The only con that I have is that my Samsung soundbar does not start automatically upon turning on my TV. However, once on, this remote handles all the functions on my soundbar. I highly recommend this remote for multi media device consolidating.

Bad news/good news: Bad: the backlit function failed quickly; Good: it failed so early, the product was still in the return window period.

What is written is incorrect, it's a 6 device. That wasn't an issue for me just giving you a heads up. My problem is it claims the 2 app specific hotkeys were already programmed for most major TV brands. I have a pretty new LG and it doesn't work with any of the codes. Everything else worked fine, inputs, home (you can access the apps that way). It was also very easy to program for my Samsung soundbar but the treble and bass were a little tricky to find. It was the home key for me to access than the up/down arrows. Hope this helps.

This remote has a nice, bright light that is needed for viewing TV in the dsrk.

This remote is easy to set-up and easy to use. We have set up our Vizio tv, Samsung sound bar, Toshiba blu-ray and Roku player and it works seamlessly with all. I highly recommend this remote, especially for the price.

It lights up nicely but not easy to programme so that all the features work as advertised. Have programmed several times so that I can control and launch apps like Netflix with it, but I can only change channels on TV and the volume buttons. Very frustrating as the instructions don't mention how to get the 2 app launch buttons to work.
