What size is the barrel?

The barrel of the brush (Cricket Static Free Brush Rpm, 8 Row) not including the bristles is 1/2" (half an inch). Including the bristles, the diameter is 1.25" (one and a quarter inches). I wanted a really small barrel and this works for me. I have a pixie cut and I use the brush with damp hair to style back my short "forelock" when I want it back.

What makes this brush static free?

I have no idea how it is static free but I won't use another brush. I have two because I misplaced one for a short time. I have bought these for my nieces and friends who LOVE it.

Will this help curl the sides of your hair? Also bangs?

I think so....as long as you have short hair. I think if your hair was long it would get tangled up.

What size are the barrels on the rpm 8 and rpm 12x

Great quality

Great quality brushes but for me with fine hair, I found that they got tangled up in them if I rolled my hair around a couple of times to get a good curl at the bottom of my hair. If you don't do that then they are great brushes but the headhugger by the same company are, in my opinion, the far better choice.
