BEST OVERALL MOBO FOR SCOOL STREAMING GAMING AND FIRST TIME BUILDERS
A workhorse! Ran it 5,000 hours in under 12 months, became a Fortnite Creator, went to school full time for digital design, built a local ai, edited countless videos, overclocked the 4070ti super I had attached to it daily for several months, NEVER ONCE HAD A PROBLEM, glitch, surge, shitdown, absolutely ran flawless till I sold it last week to upgrade to its predecessor. I love this board. Aside from the enormous learning curve regarding the bios, something I will constantly complain about till a real instruction manual is actually made for any of these mobos not just this one, but the overall durability was unmatched in my 40 years of computing. Great for first time builders and pairs flawlessly with the asus tuf gaming gt502 case, a must for this board, even nowadays, the tuf gaming 4070ti super oc 16, crucial 6000mhz ddr5 ram 32gb perfect size and speed for gaming almost any game btw, nzxt elite kraken 360mm aio cooler, asus tuf gaming 1000w power supply, and a Samsung pro 990 nvme m.2 2tb ssd, and make sure above all you get a cpu aluminum frame, and fans that spin at least 3000 rpms and the extra that sit behind the mobo and you have the perfect pc for design school, streaming with two monitors and gaming Fortnite with maxed out graphics and 240fps Your welcome ;) Btw Flitenite and Liquibox are two maps I published as a Fortnite creator, playable right now and yes those are real player counts, and I owe it to this masterpiece mobo OMG almosr forgot the cpu was an amd ryzen 9 7950x total build nowadays can be done under $2k

Good price. A bit dated, but wonderful firmware and good features. Lots of control.
There are newer chipsets and I largely went with this because of the price to get to the AM5/DDR5 platform without having to sell a kidney. The firmware was pre-flashed with a version that already supported Zen 5 already, so I didn't have to try to figure out how the headless flash function works. There was still a newer firmware version out there, so I still recommend updating, but you should be able to do so as normal through the menus. There is a lot to be said about ASUS one way or the other, but the motherboard firmwares are pretty good with excellent options. There are bonus extras that many others forget like the uncore/memory "OC mode" which doesn't actually overclock (they should probably change that name) but can help with performance. There are lots of other little things here and there, some of which I haven't seen in a few of the other firmwares right now. Nothing major, but altogether you have a lot of control over your system configuration. This doesn't only allow for good overclocking, but just better control altogether (for example, even lowering clocks is easy to do if you want a system to run cooler and quieter.) It even can override CPU speed to a fixed speed if one was so inclined (you have to be _very_ careful with this, but it can yield good results if the cooling can handle it.) The WiFi and Bluetooth functions were a nice little bonus. In Linux they just worked right out of the box for me, so big plus there. (I half expected that they wouldn't work and I'm sure ASUS wasn't thinking of Linux users, but I'm really glad that it does work. Nice bonus feature.) I didn't even know about the Bluetooth until I saw it show up in Linux, but that's a very useful feature to have built in to the motherboard. It also has three M.2 slots, though I'm a bit confused about the PCI-E/M2 configuration in this system. I originally read this as a PCI-Express 5.0 system, but it may only be the first M.2 slot? Very confusing. If it's PCI-E 4.0 only on the PCI-E slot perhaps that will limit later GPU options, but today even if a PCI-E 5.0 card comes out I seriously doubt it could utilize the capabilities of 5.0. All in all a really good bang for the buck if you're looking for something that isn't the absolute top of the line but has plenty of features. The fact that it just works right out of the box with Linux also is an excellent plus.

79% chance of not booting? I was lucky.
Accoring to amazon you have a 79% chance of this not booting. I was one of the lucky ones. It booted right away. Yet warning for those of you using this one, get the older bios first BEFORE you get the new one. It won't work otherwise.

This motherboard is awesome!
I have this TUF B650 MB and a Strix B650E-E in another PC. This one boots A LOT faster. The explanation is the different sound chip they have... It could use a couple more USB ports in the back, but besides that it has all the features I need.

Worked well , most concerns are solvable
Worked out well . Able to get it going the same day . I know there are some concerns pointed here about WiFi not working and board won’t start up . Ran into the same issues . But it’s mostly about the correct location to plug the power panel switch cables right . Depending on the enclosure it can be little time to find . One mistake with the WiFi driver ( April 2026 driver ) is that they have it as Maitek driver ( which it was couple versions ago , but not anymore . It’s actually the Realtek driver one version back .) , so the April 2026 driver won’t work - wrong driver . Use the previous realtek . Thats the reason for 4 stars - asus is not paying attention . Lost a bit of time there . As long as you have the minimum required power cables plugged to the board all is good . And another concern was about bitlocker . That’s just a warning and not an error . Doesn’t mean it’s used or anything . If you’re using SSDs , you can just say yes and wipe out the setting and move on and it’s all good .

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rock-Solid AM5 Motherboard That Feels Built to Last
This motherboard has been an absolute workhorse in my first PC build. The ASUS TUF B650-PLUS WiFi strikes a near-perfect balance between performance, reliability, and thoughtful design. From the moment I installed it, everything just made sense—clear layout, excellent spacing, and zero guesswork during the build process. Build quality is immediately noticeable. The board feels sturdy and well-reinforced, with solid heatsinks, clean PCB layout, and a premium, no-nonsense look that pairs perfectly with modern builds. It doesn’t rely on flashy gimmicks—just smart engineering and durability, which is exactly what I wanted. The layout is especially builder-friendly. There’s plenty of clearance around the CPU socket for large air coolers, clean routing for power and front-panel cables, and well-placed headers that make cable management straightforward. Even with a full-size GPU installed, everything remains accessible and clean. Performance has been excellent. Stability has been flawless, memory setup was painless, and BIOS navigation is intuitive—great for both first-time builders and experienced users. Built-in WiFi and Bluetooth worked right out of the box, and connectivity overall is more than enough for gaming, productivity, and future upgrades. I’ve been running this board since August 2025, and it’s been completely reliable—no crashes, no weird quirks, and no regrets. It feels like a motherboard you install once and trust for years. If you’re building on AM5 and want a board that prioritizes quality, stability, and smart design over hype, the TUF B650-PLUS WiFi is an easy recommendation. ASUS nailed the fundamentals here. Highly recommended. 👌

Linux compatible Wifi 6
Confirming the TUF Gaming B650-PLUS WiFi, with Wifi 6, works with Mint as of writing (Feb 2026). No idea if Wifi 6E or Wifi 7 are compatible so make sure you are getting the right (older) board (Wifi 6). No issues yet, hopefully the board lasts many years as it is advertized as high quality under the TUF product line.

Lost weeks of my PC because faulty board
I would have given them 5 stars if they handled this issue better. O save up to buy this Tuf motherboard and from the getgo im having issues. Im getting orange lights the power is flickering on and off the PC would finally start up then randomly shut down. I bought this with a ryzen 5 9600X. Sure sure obvious issues right so I got this item after a cancelation issue it was arriving it said it was coming, never showed up next day out of nowhere it just said it was canceled then had to reorder already making me mad since I took apart my computer and had the old intel moba and CPU for sale. It gets here 3 days after the the original issue. After installing finding the issue then just sticking with it making sure I check everything it was reading my ram and CPU in bios, but still shut down after PC started all the issues I spent 6 days researching and trying until I gave up, my CPU and ram work just fine and the PSU was brand new msi mag 850w. Anyways I throw in the towel im now over a week with no gaming PC I just wanted a replacement board figured I lucked out and got a bad board but they wouldnt just replace, claimed id have to wait till the checked the board and then send new one taking almost 2 more weeks I was furious but I worked with Amazon they were supposed to get me a refund to repurchase item and not lose another week or two. And thats where the part that made me hate this board the brand the seller just sent it off for return expecting the refund so I could get a new board in a day or two. Now im a disabled man from a construction accident damaging my spinal cord that went undocumented leaving me to suffer and die without a dime. I need my gaming PC it helps distract me from my chronic nerve pains that literally have me clawing flesh off my legs because the horrific feeling below the waist. Im breaking down I got no extra money the return got me no refund to go with im waiting till the 30th to even get a refund that they claim will vary based on the condition of board and contents, I tore up the box and forgot to tape the book about the moba onto it. Sent it back in the static bag with the recever. Mind you this all started on the 15th. I use Amazon because I cant just get up and go to a local store, if I have problems amazon helps pick up things so I dont have to use favors to take back a product. Honestly Amazon tried they did but this return and refund method or replacement method is just cruel. Your product failed me and its a crucial component to a PC setup, your product made me lose weeks despite trying to make it work hoping I just had a bad bios or didnt push ram in right. Then to add insult to injury they make the customer suffer for what was simply a bad board that could have just been replaced in a day or two. Im beyond upset honestly it just left me depressed it was my birthday money to get somthing for myself and all I got was disappointed, poor customer service from seller not Amazon, and just out of alot of money for a guy with no income stuck at home all day. Im sad but leaving this note in hopes the next person with this issue might be taken care of better then I was. Careful who the seller is. Amazon cant help you for a faulty product from a seller, they can do their best but its ultimately how the seller has refund and replacement policy

Great features for a great price
Has a heap of ports and is great quality for the price. The IO shield is already installed on the motherboard which makes things easier. Also has very easy m.2 SSD installation. Overall is a great price for the newest generation motherboard.
