Before I place a review for this Punch Bag, I’d like to share with you the excellent customer service I received from Peter at GallantSports. The first Punch Bag, I received had a large rip where the stitching was at the top of the bag. The stitching had come undone, and the bag was beyond repair. I sent some pictures and corresponded with Peter, who was immediately approachable and eager to resolve my issue. He arranged for a replacement to be sent out, which I received after a few days and I couldn't have been happier. The Punch Bag was primarily bought for my son who has joined his local boxing club and he needed extra punching practice. The bag is the right size for him - 5 and a ¼ foot and his height is 5 foot 3 inches. He is able to strike in a co-ordinated and purposeful manner. The unit was easy to set up. It arrives in two separate packages, which are lighter than I expected. For the base, I opted for sand and I filled it with over 2 and ¾ bags of Builders Sand. You can just as easily use Play Sand or water for this purpose. My only slight criticism here is that the mouth of the base is quite narrow, so I had to fill it very slowly and methodically. Once the base is filled, you join the punch bag to it, with heavy duty bolts which are simply screwed in and tightened with a provided wrench. My son uses the bag for at least 30 minutes everyday, and he has said that it is solid, robust and easily absorbs all his strikes. This is due to the heavy padding and the tilt mechanism design, that soaks up punches. I myself used to box at amateur level, and I have hit the bag a number of times hard as I could. The bag weathered all my punches and then retained its normal shape. With the unit being free standing and having a narrow base surface area, he is able to move around it easily, so this helps his footwork, flexibility, agility and all-round boxing skills. Both my son and I are very happy with this purchase and I’m confident that it will provide him with great service. As he gets older and his boxing prowess and experience increase, I will see if he need a heavier bag for his practice. Until then, this is ideal.

Great bag for beginners / intermediate. I filled the base with 3 bags of play sand and topped it up with water. Punches - unless you're a heavy weight superbeast, with sand and water in the base you won't knock this over! Kicks - this will stay standing against roundhouses etc, BUT a front kick or a good side kick will knock this down which is a shame, this is because the base doesn't have enough surface area so no mater how you fill it, straight kicks will knock this over. So all in all a great little cardio and punch bag but if you're looking to really work on more like kicks for Muay Thai or kickboxing etc, you might need to shell out and get a pro bag. This is pretty good value for money to be fair, if it stood up to all the kicks it would be a sterling 5/5 The bag itself is good quality, you get a bit of movement with the base that you spot the bag into but I don't think that's a bad thing

Really happy with the product and service. I bought this as a birthday present for my husband and he absolutely loves it! The bag and the base arrived 2 weeks earlier than the estimated delivery date, which meant it was here well in advance of his birthday. There had been an issue in transit where unfortunately both the bag containing the bolts (to connect the bag to the base) and the box itself had holes in - this meant that only 4 of the bolts arrived and no spanner. We called up Gallant who sent a new bag of bolts and the spanner out right away and this arrived on the next working day. Thank you! The bag itself is really well made - it looks good, is durable and was easy to set up. My husband is 5'10" and the bag height is ideal, he is 14 and a half stone (92kg) and hits the bag with 16oz gloves. The base is filled with water so that we can move it around and wobbles a little bit when he hits it but he likes that to keep him moving his head! Really good value for money, highly recommended.

AMAZING 👏 I ordered this with christmas money and I wasn't expecting alot but It came and I was very shocked . Not cheap stuff good leather bag with padding and great for a Christmas present or birthday I highly recommend!!!!

Good punching bag , easy to set up and sturdy once the base is filled . It does take a lot to fill the base I ordered two 25kg bags and it wasn’t enough so I had to use a mixture of the sand and water . Company has excellent customer service as well when setting up the stopped was accidently knocked inside once inside there is no way to get it out . Contacted the seller and they sent out a replacement right away .
