Do you put hook in before turbo, or after, before intake manifold? curious as egr has made a mess of my inlet manifold at 130,000 mile >:(

Good morning, I only have experience of using this product on my petrol V8 engine, I put the hook and hose through the section of breather pipe after the MAF sensor and facing inward into the throttle body. Loosening the jubilee clip to wiggle the hose and hook in, tightening it up and attaching the shaken can of SeaFoam, following the instructions on the can. Dependant on what your car is, I would suggest going on the owner's forum, there are many out there with masses of sage advice, especially in cleaning EGR valves. I removed them from my last TD car.

Does this work with diesel fuel injected engines?

This work well on Diesel engine made big diffences to cleaning out top end of engine in removing out carbon on Landrover tdi

I am restoring a engine, will this clear the crowns, free rings, and generally clean top of cylinder BEFORE start up? ie turning over dry.

It will clean up deposits in the upper cylinder area's, it may help with sticky rings but depending on how bad they are, the only problem is that it would normally be sprayed into the air intake with the engine running, then turn the engine off to hot soak for 5-15 mins, then restart the engine in a well ventilated area because the exhaust may be extreme for a short time until all the deposits and spray have been blown out, you should then road test driving quite hard to remove any deposits that may be left
