almost 2 years. still works perfectly. however strong deteriorating in headset overall
--- Updated 6/11/18 --- Ive previously mentioned that this headset is nothing like what ive previously owned. its actually worked for more than 8 months to a year which was my previous life expectancy for my past 7 or 8 headsets from varying brands. There is nothing overly special with the headset. it has somewhat cheap but sturdy plastic frame decent cushioning on the top headband and perfectly good ear pads that will give you continued comfort for long gaming sessions or in general use case. i wear my headset anywhere from 7 to 16 hours a day while frequently taking them off multiple times within the day. The core and most notable strong point here with the headset is that, and i can reassure you on this. the build quality internally is beyond great. strong solder connections that are durable and wont degrade or detach / snap from frequent build up of heat or smacking the headset around or yanking on the cord etc. Ontop of great sound quality and great bass depth that wont peak out means for the price its pretty dam fantastic. and its also comfortable even with people that have big ears like i do! The only thing i dislike here is that even after nearing 2 years of use. the earpads and the overall rigidity are degrading pretty bad. the headset is so lose fitting now that its a cause of frequent adjustment in the sizing of the headset and the ear pads are flaking off the glued on fake leather like material. nothing particularly wrong with this especially if you compare it to competitors. they all do the same but hyper x has made theirs last the longest in my own experience. The downside is that they dont have replacements that you can order from their shop. which i think is a big L in this situation. you have a good product and you know the earpads are going to crap out first is most cases but dont offer replacements. no one wants to continue wearing a headset when the pads are flaking off crap onto their head and shoulders *no pun intended* overall my score is now a 5/5. but i understand some peoples experiences might vary. if you have an extra £20 or so to spare. look into getting the cloud headsets. bigger drivers and better frequency range for a overall better listening experience and its more comfortable even for bigger ears like i do. and if you find the ear pads are degrading quicker than normal. fear not because they actually have replacement pads for £6 that you can get. so you have that luxury of ordering replacements compared to this, which you would need to order a replacement headset overall.

Awesome and Affordable!
These are brilliant. I bought a custom gaming PC for the new Microsoft Flight Simulator and wanted a good headset for Vatsim flights (online flights with real people acting as air traffic control) - so I needed a decent headset for that. I settled on this because my budget that I'd set aside for the entire PC was maxxed out so thought I'd buy this HyperX headset as a short term solution - and liked the idea that it is a WIRED headset. It has absolutely blown me away!!!! Some people with wireless headsets have spent tons more and are having difficulty with their choices because of odd bugs. For example, on the wireless options if the battery runs out, Flight Simulator can crash to desktop - not ideal! Some people have had issues with their headsets even connecting in the first place... NOT WITH THIS!! PLUG AND PLAY defined. Plugged it in - mic port and headphone port, Windows 10 recognised them instantly and activated them. Within minutes I was using them online on the Flight Sim. I'm using MSFS as an example because there are TONS of sounds - aircraft, environment, traffic and weather related - all important when flying in the real world. This headset gives constant CRYSTAL CLEAR SOUND, a continuous connection AND when using Vatsim - my voice has been crystal clear for everyone else listening with the microphone. The mic also clicks up and deactivated until clicked down to nearer your mouth which is a great feature AND there is a volume slider on the base of the right ear cup too for quick control without having to change volume settings within windows. The sound goes up very high and stays really clear too so don't be worried about that! In terms of build quality / comfort these are so good. Lots of breathable padding meaning I've used them for 3hrs and not had a single issue with comfort. The build quality is amazing for the price too. Sturdy well build headphones that are also light (they're plastic mainly so that is a given) and the ear cups fold in so you can store the headset flush in a drawer when not using them. The wires are REALLY long too so there's no issues with connecting a few metres away and sitting elsewhere - the cable is well over 2.5m long (I haven't measured it but I was able to walk to the other side of my room wearing them!) I'm settled on these now - I'd say they are probably the best headset on the market for price point, sound quality AND build quality. If you're thinking about buying wireless or spending tons of money on some posh high end brand - don't bother. These are really really worth it and very highly recommended by me!

A Solid Entry-Level Headset
The HyperX Cloud Stinger - Compatible with my mobile devices, PC and Xbox One. NOTE:To use with Xbox One, the stereo headset adapter is required, it does not come with the headset, you must buy it separately for 20 pounds (a ripoff, but hey ho). In the box, apart from paperwork, is the headset and a female 3.5mm to 2x male headphones and mic 3.5mm, for use with PC. Just plug it in to your PC (the adapter) and then plug the headset into the other end to use with PC. To use with mobile devices, forget the adapter, just plug in the headset. The HyperX Cloud Stinger Gaming Headset has comfortable around-the-ear pads, and on top of the head is soft and comfortable for hours of use, as I have been. As an avid gamer and podcast viewer, the audio quality, in my opinion, is very good and better than any other headset I have bought. The mic is good and clear, without background noise, however some people have sometimes claimed it is a tiny bit quiet, but overall it is good for me. It is fairly sturdy for me so far, but that doesn't mean throw it around! I wholeheartedly recommend people to buy this. GG HyperX - This is the best headset I have ever used, better than, for example, the Tritton Kama. A great mic, for a great price.

Very good at what they do with some minor concerns
Sound Quality: I have to say that they sound fantastic and get very loud, the bass response is also quite strong, if you play with your equaliser settings you can get these sounding amazing. They handle all ranges quite well in my opinion, you won't be disappointed with how they sound. Noise isolation: When listening to music, talking over VOIP or playing games, I cannot hear what's going on around me. So if you're looking to be immersed without any distractions or you have things going on around you that you need to block out, these are great. You can hear what's going on around you if your audio is quiet or nothing is playing, but it's muffled enough to have to remove your headphones to talk to someone in the same room. Mic Quality: The quality of the mic is only just above average. It sounds as good as a HD mobile phone call or a Skype phone call. Also the mic picks up far too much sound from around the room, it is not directional at all. It will pick up any noise around you and it's very difficult to set volume triggers in discord because even though your voice is talking directly into it, the mic picks up noises at the other side of the room just as loud as you are somehow. It can make it a pain for the person/people you are talking to because you either set the trigger too low so they can hear lots of background noise or too high and your voice cuts out often. It's a shame because my previous headset (Plantronics) which fell apart had worse sound quality but the mic was better quality and directional. Comfort: These are really comfortable. They fit perfectly around my ears, I wear glasses and they fit perfectly. The top part is very softly cushioned and again is very comfortable. You can wear these for hours. Overall they're very good headphones and if you are going to use them somewhere with no background noise then the mic won't be a problem at all. I use mine where someone else is watching TV around me and it can cause problems so it depends how much your friends care about background noise.

All you need to know here - 10/10
I use this headset on my PS4 and it is the best headset I’ve ever owned. AUDIO I play a lot of rainbow six which is heavily reliant on audio and it is amazing. It has the perfect amount of bass (not too much, not too little). The volume control is just a small slider on the bottom of the headset, very easy and efficient. Overall the sound can of course be muted with the slider and the highest volume is very loud. At its lowest or highest volume the quality is always amazing. MIC The flip up to mute mic is extremely easy and convenient. The mic quality is very good as well, obviously doesn’t have the sound quality of a £300 mic but if your just using it for in game/party chat etc then it’s perfect. NOISE CANCELLATION The noise cancellation doesn’t block out everything but talking, even shouting and other noise is just a really quite muffled sound and will not affect your gameplay and ability to hear. OTHER USEFUL INFO The ear cups are leather, they don’t come with spares but it’s very unlikely they will get damaged. I bought this headset for my boyfriend last November and since then they have gone through 2 different owners and everything is still in perfect condition. If you are prone to itchy skin I definitely recommend these leather ear cups instead of the softer materials found on other headsets (astros), as over time it can become irritant. I literally wear these everyday, sometimes for over 10 hours and after taking them off I have no pain or discomfort. The headset arrives in good shape for all head sizes, it sits very well and also adjusts very well. I would definitely recommend these over the hyper x cloud models as my experience with them hasn’t been so great. The audio quality was not anywhere near as good, the headset as a whole just wasn’t comfy and not to mention it didn’t even last a month until it was broken. 100% recommend this headset for gaming. Better than some £70-£200 headsets for sure.

Great, until they wear out
I've recently bought my 4th of these headsets. I use them not for gaming, but for remote working in video conferencing (Teams, mostly). One's left in the office for those occasional days I go in. The protruding mic arm is fragile and not removable, so regularly taking the headset on the commute is not practical. The other lives at home, and gets very heavy use, typically around 6 hours a day (yes, a lot of meetings!). The ability to mute the headset by raising the mic arm is superb for usability, but is also a weak point. The heavy use, and regular muting / unmuting, causes this mechanism to wear out over time. The mic eventually stops working, intermittently at first, making the headset useless for my needs. This has happened to my first two, and I can sense the 3rd (currently less regularly used in the office) is on it's way out. So why keep buying them? Firstly the headset is very comfortable. I wear it literally the whole working day sometimes, without a comfort problem. The mic audio quality is very good (before it wears out), and the convenience of the mute mechanism is great while it lasts. The ability to easily mute the mic, and know it's muted without having to feel around for some switch, is important to me. And it's relatively cheap - 40 quid for my recent replacement makes me feel a little better about having to replace them so often. They seem to be lasting me around 6 - 9 months with my heavy usage. You can decide for yourselves whether that's good money. TBH though, I think this recent replacement will be my last. When it inevitably breaks this autumn, I'll try and find a replacement with a longer lifetime, albeit maybe costing a little more. Maybe it's replacement (the Cloud Stinger II) will fair better.

Great gaming headset, no major complaints.
Overall A great purchase. I recommend this headset if youre looking for a mid to long term good quality headset at a mid range budget. Super solid and no deal breaking complaints. Good directional sound for gaming, good bass and sound quality for music, and good mic quality for communicating or streaming/making videos. Comfort Comfortable and light, easy to wear for many hours. Also good head adjustability, mic adjustability and great padding. No complaints. Sound Gaming - Great directional sound, improved my sound awareness considerably in CS:GO, Valorant, Destiny 2 and Rocket League (compared to my old £15 Beexcellent headset). Microphone - Great mic quality for the price range, very clear sound. Also easy to adjust and great mute feature when you push it up. Music - Lovely bass and crisp clean sound. Could have a higher sound limit though. Criticisms/Issues Microphone - sometimes echoes what I hear from my headset, but its not as big of an issue as I saw some people describe in their reviews. Microphone - needs to be well positioned to not pick up your breathing or be too quiet . Sound - At max volume the headset could have a higher sound. Its not quiet by any means but I sometimes I like to blast music unhealthily loud :D

Good for the price but may need amping
I bought these to replace my Turtle Beach Ear Force P12's, as they did not have great noise cancelling and were a bit rickety. When I first tried them out, I was a little disappointed. They were very quiet, even with the volume all the way up, and I was not a fan of having to manually switch over to them as my output every time I wanted to use them (Windows would automatically do this when I plugged the P12's in). However, I had the idea of plugging them in to the USB in-line amp from the Turtle Beach headset and they were a lot better. So, if you do not have a dedicated amp or decent soundcard, bear that in mind. Build wise, I think they're pretty nice. The ear cushions fit comfortably and swivel on their own axes, so they rest comfortably on the head. There is also a volume control on the right-hand speaker. The boom mic is solid and automatically mutes when you stow it, too. I'm not much of an audiophile, I'm afraid, but they are a definite step up from the P12's; the bass is pretty strong to my ear and they have a richer sound. For £50, I'm pretty happy with them but just be wary if you use your motherboard's on-board sound.

worth the money!!!!
Amazing headset. I've had the Hyperx Cloud Stinger for 2 Years now, it's been nothing short of great. It's very durable and sturdy, I've dropped it a LOT of times and it hasn't broke. The microphone quality is great and my friends could hear me very clearly. I used on ps4, but on pc it was louder. It's overall a great headset and I strongly recommend it. Very great for the price.
