2 Pack Airlocks and Bored Rubber Bungs

I bought this double-pack of rubber stoppers with bubbler airlocks as I needed to replace a split screw-cap from a Brooklyn Brew Shop beer making kit. (Whilst BBS offer replacements directly for $10, international shipping was another $55 so that obviously wasn't going to fly.) I took a gamble on whether these would fit, as I couldn't find dimensions for the stopper in the description. (They're 1 1/4 inch wide at the top, if you're wondering.) As it happens, they fit the Brooklyn 1Gal demijohn just fine with a nice tight seal. Cracking. Only reason for the 3/5 stars for "easy to clean" is because these bubbler-type airlocks are a bit of a faff compared to the 3-piece cylindrical ones, in terms of getting the PBW/StarSan through them, but otherwise they do the job and no issues. Overall, they do the job I wanted them for and now I've got spares without forking out an arm and a leg. Nice one.

I had read that some people had problems with the bungs breaking up in their brews and they look like they could just from the screenshots, however, they're absolutely fine and I've had zero issues - I will add that there were some loose little bits of rubber around the edges where the seams were but I just pulled off anything I thought could fall off and the rest was solid. These airlocks are quite hard to clean but as long as you don't let them get dirty and leave them, there's no problem. Make sure to clean them out before and after use and store them in a clean dry place and you won't have any issues

I was sceptical at first, as never used plastic one. Turned out great quality. Very sturdy. Great value. Definitely will buy again .

I bought these airlocks and bungs to brew up a couple of demijohns of wine when I found myself with a bumper grape harvest. It's years since I last made wine and I couldn't find the old airlocks that I have somewhere so thought I'd give these a go. The price seemed fair and I was curious about the design of these - quite different to my old ones but it looked like they'd do the job. They do, in fact they are great, the bungs fit the demijohns very well and seem to be a synthetic rubber so don't have the rubbery smell of my older ones (a smell that used to leak a little into the wine). The airlock design is clever and allows gas to escape during fermentation without bubbling over, even when fermentation is vigorous. it looks to be the length of the multiple bubble chambers and the little cap that work together to keep things calm. The plastic of the airlock is slightly flexible which is good but also feels a little thin so I worry that it might not last for that many years especially if it got a little squashed; that said my old ones are glass or brittle plastic, so care is required with storage and handling of any airlock. Nice and simple to use. The price seems fair for two well designed effective airlocks and bungs.

Have worked perfectly fine. My mead is brewing in the airing cupboard next to my computer, so I kept checking in and they've held the lock well.

Great solid product, airlock seems fine but the bung didn’t fit my 1 gallon Demi so had to shave a little of the rubber off, other than that a great product
