Strathmore Str-342-9 20 Sheet, White

I've seen a lot of reviews for this brand and model of paper and none of them (that I saw) mentioned its marker worthiness, so I was reluctant to buy this UNTIL I met an artist who did very saturated alcohol marker art and suggested me this paper, so I went for it. Usually I use W&N extra smooth Bristol board for marker art, but it's been harder to find for a decent price. This is great paper for markers, takes the inks really well, and blending is really nice, just as nice as W&N extra smooth. It IS off white, and that's only noticeable if next to, say, printer paper, but this isn't a downside, just a fact to mention. Fineliners glide nicely over the surface, and pencils haven't left any dark erased or embossed lines like with some papers. I used distress oxide ink to blend in the background (see photo) and it blends very smoothly. To get the distressed effect I splash the oxide ink with water and the paper held up like a champ, very sturdy. It performs just as well as my usual brand, so I'm really happy with the purchase. Definitely recommend this if you use alcohol markers.

Top quality paper, great price, delivered quickly.

I use this a lot with coloured pencils. It has a gran to it and you can get quite a few layers. Price excellent for the amount of sheets as a lot of gummed pads only have 12 - 15 sheets. fast delivery. I usually wait until there is a sale on as it makes the paper even more economical.

Smooth mixed media paper, quite good and doesn't seem to bleed through or buckle. This is a bit like the paper/card you get in the ranger Dylusions sketchbooks. It doesn't have a tooth like watercolour. If you don't like working on smooth surfaces this might not be for you.

Really nice paper, works well with all kinds of fine liner pens and all graphite pencils. Works well with Uni Pin fine liners, Pilot G-Tec-C4, Posca paint pens, pigma microns. Also works well for lino printing as the paper is nice and thick. Thick ink can be seen through in well-lit areas, however this should be expected for most paper. This paper does a particularly good job at obscuring images from bleeding through. Size is slightly unusual and doesn't conform to a4 size as it's slightly wider and taller. My only complaint with this paper is that a corner was dented on delivery. This was no fault of the seller's and wasn't really a problem for me.

This paper is super thick and smooth which gives artwork another level of high quality. There's no worries with creasing the paper or bending it accidentally with an eraser for example because of the thickness. Pencils blend extremely well on it, I have used many brands too and combined them. You can also use markers as a base layer and coloured pencils on top and that works great as an art technique. It does not damage the paper and produces great results. Fantastic quality paper overall. Definitely recommend.

It's a lovely drawing pad, can't complain and the thickness is good. The value is great and the colour is good.

Tried this for printing coloring pages for alcohol markers. Not my favourite... markers are looking less vivid and not as vibrant. Will try one with less GSM next time

Strathmore est incontestablement l'une des meilleures marques de papier (si ce n'est la meilleure selon moi) pour du dessin aux crayons de couleur, à prix accessible. Je dessine avec les Strathmore Bristol surfaces lisse et velin, ce sont des supports différents mais les deux acceptent pas mal de couches avant saturation (utilisation des crayons de couleurs Polychromos de Faber Castell et Luminance de Caran d'Ache). Avec le fini lisse (exemple en photo), les noirs sont moins profondes, les couleurs moins saturées mais le processus est comme "plus facile". Avec le fini velin, il faudra plus travailler ses couches pour faire disparaitre les dents du papier, mais les noirs seront bien profonds et les couleurs plus vives. Ce Bristol de Strathmore n'est comparable à aucun autre Bristol. C'est un régal absolu de dessiner avec. Dommage que l'on ne trouve pas facilement ces blocs en France.

Kein Durchbluten bei Alkoholmarkern, saubere Kanten. Für Illustratoren unverzichtbar. Nicht billig, aber die Qualität des Papiers macht einen riesigen Unterschied beim Zeichnen. Man sieht es im Ergebnis.
