How long is the extendable handle?

Fully extended, the plastic handle, including the part which the duster slides onto, is 40.5cm long. The extending part provides 10cm of that length so the handle is 30.5cm unextended. The duster extends along the top 17cm of the handle if you include the fluffy bit at the handle end. Hope that's clear!

This looks ideal for what I want. But why is there talk of refills - can’t you just wash the duster when it gets dirty?

As far as I know the duster works due to creating friction which lifts the dust. If you wash it when it is extremely dirty then you reduce or eliminate the friction .

Are Pledge products tested on animals?

I honestly don't know, I haven't seen anything from Greenpeace on Johnsons (but clearly, that is not definitive).

What happened to the 35 inch extended handle? Is it still available?

I had the extended handle version many years ago and found it was much more useful to use than the present duster. I had to stop using it when I could no longer buy the refill dusters to fit it. I have a feeling it wasn't made by Pledge unfortunately. I looked for it for years, if anyone finds one please let me know.
