Cat Charmer (Colour may vary)

I bought this toy nearly a year ago in May 2014 to help entertain four mischievous two month old kittens and mum cat. In June 2014 I took one of the kittens home (who is now a pretty large one year old cat) and introduced him (along with the cat charmer toy) to our even larger 2 year old male cat. As you can imagine, this toy has not had an easy life. It has come up against multiple sets of teeth and claws (often at once) and they have definitely not been gentle. While the handle is covered in chew marks (the kittens enjoyed giving it a good gnaw when they were teething), nearly a year later the toy is still in great shape. The end of the material is a little stretched, but this may be because of us tying knots into it or attaching other toys to the end rather than from the cats. It's very durable - after 11 months of use, by kittens and then adult cats, there have been no tears or fraying at all. The material of the toy is also very long, much longer than I was expecting it to be from the pictures - this makes it great for use with more than one cat. Most importantly, our boys LOVE this toy. Our older cat was never really interested in cat toys before I brought this one home (and we've tried plenty wand/dangler-style toys before). As I'm sure many of you can relate to, we have bought numerous cat toys which have entertained them for a short while but which have inevitably ended up forming a steadily-growing pile of rejection. This is the one toy that always gets them crouching and bum-wiggling as soon as we get it out. We have to keep it out of paw's reach when we're not around - if we put this in a drawer and we leave it slightly open, you can guarantee that a little furry arm will eventually appear. Both of our cats particularly like grabbing the end of the material in their mouth and running off with a human still desperately attempting to keep hold of the other end. Once they succeed in yanking it from our grasp, it's us chasing them. We're so fond of this toy that it has even been named! When I bought this it was £7.99 - it was well worth the money then, and it's cheaper now. Its durability means you won't have to worry about buying a new cat toy any time soon. And besides, if your cats love this as much as ours do, you'll probably never need to look at another cat toy again!

My cats love these and i found them to be sturdier than the elastic string ones, which tend to get chewed through in about a week. The material seems to be some kind of fleece, which is not too fluffy (so I'm not worried about them eating bits of it) and also much, much harder to chew through. It also "flicks" well so you can get the string to dance around nicely, if that's what your cat is into. I also found it works fine on carpet, so you can do the pulling it along while your furry friend hunts it, if that's more their thing. The string is fairly long, maybe two feet and you can get a good distance for a game with your cat (from the safety of a chair) without necessarily risking your feet to do so. The attachment to the pole part (another weak area I've noticed in a lot of designs) is some sort of flexible rubber and has kept the string part on well, while allowing my cats to play tug of war quite fiercely without breaking or warping. The pole itself is also a good length and you can wrap up the string part along it for storage when play is done. As a long-time user of these types of toys, I'm really impressed with this one and will be buying another set soon! Highly recommended.

I purchased the cat charmer for my cats and I am so glad that I did. I wasn't really expecting much, but after reading the other reviews decided to get one. Well I'd hardly got it out of the package when all 3 cats were trying to swipe at it. My very big tom cat was mesmerised by it and for the size of him, he can't half jump and move to try and catch this charmer when I am waggling it about. The other 2 smaller dainty girls loved it too, they now scratch at the glass cabinet that I keep it in, telling me it's time to play again. They are never bored of it and has it leaves them panting I think it is good exercise for them too. The charmer itself is well made and the label that comes with it tells you the material is strong and the wand part almost unbreakable with normal play. I would recommend and buy this toy again.

My cat loves this toy, and its so easy to play with her while I'm just sitting on the sofa! The only reason I've marked this down is that it looks rather cheap and with the amount of use it gets I can't see it lasting long, however I will definitely buy another!

One of my cats has a marked preference, when it comes to her playtime, for dangly string type toys. So this was a pretty solid purchase choice for me. The description doesn't seem to mention this, but it was in fact a "solid" purchase by design, too, as it's built to be very sturdy. (I can't remember the weight tolerance specifics, but it's built to withstand a fair amount of punishment, which is helpful when your cats are a big rowdy 5kg ragdoll, and a small but intense little moggy who flings herself into every pounce with the force of a fluffy bowling ball.) Basically, my cats both love it, and it's sturdy enough that I'm not afraid of accidentally breaking it by some clumsy f-up. Plus, it's affordable. If your cat likes playing with dangly strings or ribbons, this is absolutely a great toy for them!

An immediate hit with my kitten, he's absolutely captivated by it! Very versatile with types of play roo due to length and shapes it can make, wirh chasing, pouncing and rolling around on the floor all part of the play. Funny to watch too!

This toy was brought to add to the collection for my two Siberian kittens. They are house cats so keeping them entertained and stimulated at home is important to us. We have many stick and string toys that they enjoy but nothing long and ribbon-like. It is a very long strip of fleece material attached to a plastic rod. It seems fairly sturdy - holding up well to daily play from a pair of kittens known for their toy destroying capabilities. They love it! It is definitely the favourite toy of the moment. Because it's light and the rod isn't too long they drag it round the house trying to entice us into another game. Prompt delivery and well packaged. Would repurchase.

My cat is profoundly weird as it is possibly the only cat who doesn't go nuts over a laser pointer, so toys for him are a little hard to come by. But this toy is practically a worship object for him. He ADORES this thing. He goes crazy when I bring it out, and he has started to find all my hiding spots, so he drags it out all on his own to play with it. I make sure I pin it down with something heavy if I leave the room. This is a supervised toy. You'd think a stick with a string wouldn't be that fascinating, but when I slide it tantalizingly across the ground in agonizing slow motion, he literally can't stand it. Must. Attack. Now. He pounces so hard he invented carpet sliding. His record is about a foot. This is a great little toy, because it is made from soft (super soft) felt, so you don't have to feel bad if you whack your cat (or an innocent bystander). It's sort of like a whip, so this is bound to happen. Actually, my cat prefers to get hit in the face with it. It just slides over his head between his ears, and he flips over on his back in a frantic lunge. Must Bite. Must Chew. Must Annihilate! It's seriously adorable to watch. The plastic stick on the end is really light weight, so your arm doesn't get tired until about the hour mark. Extended playtime. Concerns about tangling and knotting can be cast aside. My cat enjoys getting tangled up in it and just laying down with it around him, but the felt slides. Just a little tug and the network of string he's created around his paws comes undone without any knotting. Again, though, this is a supervised toy. I would not recommend leaving your cat alone with it. It is hard to get tangled permanently because of the slipping felt (a great, great feature), but there is the chance (however remote) it can wrap around the cat's neck. So if you let him play with it by himself just keep a close eye. The only problem I have found is my cat has all of his claws, so occasionally he snags one of them in the fabric. The problem fixes itself, though, because of the sturdiness of the felt. It is a tight, sturdy material, so there's no fraying to make the snag permanent. When snagging does happen, my cat has figured out he's just digging in too hard, so he lets go. Nothing actually gets stuck stuck, just caught for a split second. Not only is the felt sturdy, but so is the stick it's attached to. The string is attached with a rubber cover piece, and my cat has yanked on it for all he's worth. The thing hasn't budged. This toy is going to last for a long time. All in all, it is amazing and totally worth the price. A must buy for any cat owner. You will get hours of entertainment.

I am amazed at how strong and durable this is. Even though my cat pulls and tugs at it with full claws and teeth, this product is indestructible! She has gotten tired of a lot of the other toys i've gotten for her but this one is an all time favorite for her, no matter what time of day. An excellent product!

Das bunte Band vorne ist weich und wird gut von den Katzen wahrgenommen. Positiv finde ich auch, dass keine Teile an der Angel sind, welche die Katze abreißen und verschlucken könnte. Die Verbindung mit dem Plastikstab ist äußert stabil, selbst nach einem halben Jahr hält es noch. Vorwiegend wird die Angel von meinen ängstlichen Katze angenommen, die auf Geräusche empfindlich reagiert, da durch den Stoffteil die Angel sehr leise ist. Die unerschrockenen Katzen im Haushalt nehmen diese Angel nicht so gut an, aber da hat jede Katze ihre Vorlieben. Fazit: Für den Preis gut verarbeitete Angel, die auch für geräuschempfindliche Katzen geeignet ist.

We have two cats, sisters, but very different. One runs around chasing anything she can. Marie, not so much. But she loves her Cat Dancer, and does indeed dance around trying to capture the tempting twisty tail and delights in her successes. The tail is relatively wide, unexpectedly long, and a bit stretchy. It's ideal for capture efforts, and is big enough that it's a satisfactory prey object once it's "brought down". However, the active cat has shown no interest. We've had it for about a month.
