From the bestselling author of The Ravenhood Trilogy, comes an angsty, steamy, white-knuckle ride full of love, loss, and self-discovery. Music . . . the heartโs greatest librarian. The average song is three and a half minutes long; those three and a half minutes could lead to a slow blink, a glimpse of the past, or catapult the soul into heart-shattering nostalgia. At the height of my career, I had the life I wanted, the life Iโd always envisioned. Iโd found my tempo, my rhythm. Then I received a phone call that left me off key. You see, my favorite songs had a way of playing simultaneously. I was in love with one manโs beats and anotherโs lyrics. But when it came to the soundtrack of a life, how could anyone choose a favorite song? So, to erase any doubt, I ditched my first-class ticket and decided to take a drive, fixed on the rearview. Two days. One playlist. And the long road home to the man who was waiting for me. Drive is BOOK #1 in The Bittersweet Symphony duet. The Bittersweet Symphony Duet Book #1 Drive Book #2 Reverse *Both books in the duet must be read in order. Review: An emotionally stunning read - 6 stars! - OMG, this book. I donโt even know where to begin. I finished this book yesterday and I am still a jumble of emotions and I canโt stop thinking about it! Kate Stewart completely owned me with this book. Her writing is flawless, her characters are unforgettable, and her story is captivating and masterfully told. Itโs such an incredible read, and I absolutely loved it! Iโm admitting upfront that I was slightly terrified diving into this book because I knew it was an angsty love triangle story, and I usually avoid those. But with the announcement of a follow-up, second-general novel, Repeat, I knew it was time, and I just happened to be in the mood for a book like this, and God, I was so ready for it! Stella has just nailed the biggest win of her career, and sheโs riding the well-deserved high when she receives a phone call with surprising news. It rocks her - big time - and she decides that rather than take her booked flight back home, sheโll drive, giving her some time to think. Over the course of Stellaโs road trip, she thinks back on her life, and we see her story from when she moved to Texas as a passionate young music lover who is just starting out in her career, desperate to experience all the music that Austin has to offer, and become a music journalist. We follow Stella over the years as she follows her dream, finds her place, and meets two amazing men who both have a huge impact on her life. We get not one, but two love stories in this book as we watch Stella experience life, love, relationships, and above all, the music that is a part of her soul. Itโs heartwrenching, dramatic and emotional, but itโs also witty, sexy and so entertaining. I adored Stella, I loved her journey, I love her passion for music and, like her, I fell completely for the two men in her life. Reid and Nateโฆ *dreamy sigh*. Both very different men, but both right for Stella in their own ways. They love her so much, they teach her so much about herself and her relationships with both men are fun intense, passionate and full of chemistry. She, and I, fell completely for both of them, and I had no idea how it was all going to unfold, and no idea how I even wanted it to unfold, but itโs so clever as we experience her journey with her, not knowing until the very end how her story ends, and who she finds her happy ending with. Her story is real and raw, and I felt everything along with her. I laughed, I swooned, I celebrated, I fell in love and my heart broke and I cried multiple times. Itโs real life, and there are hard moments, but Stellaโs journey is truly beautiful and profound, and played out exactly the way it needed to. Along the way, we get to listen to Stellaโs playlist from the past, and I strongly encourage you to pause your reading and listen to some of these songs, because it adds so much to the experience. Iโve been singing โDriveโ in my head non-stop since I finished this book, and I donโt think Iโll ever listen to it the same way again. So. Many. Feels now attached to it, and I love how certain songs take me right back to the feelings I had while reading particular scenes in this book. This is truly a wonderful reading experience. Itโs one of those books you wish you could read for the first time all over again just to have that sense of wonder and anticipation again. I knew from the very beginning that it was going to be something special, and it absolutely was. This book is going down as an all-time favourite, I absolutely adored it. 6 massive stars! Note โ I listened to this as an audiobook, narrated by Ava Erickson, and she does an incredible job with it. She brings Stella to life and tells the story with so much emotion, I definitely recommend listening to this one. Review: Love this book - This wasnโt just a love story. It was a collision course of fate, passion, and heartbreak.โ Drive by Kate Stewart is the kind of book that seeps into your bloodstream. From the very first chapter, I knew I was in for an emotional, soul-crushing, heart-pounding experience, and I was right. Told primarily through Stellaโs perspective, this is a second-chance, love-triangle romance thatโs anything but clichรฉ. Stella is a fiercely ambitious music journalist chasing her dreams while simultaneously trying to navigate the chaos of her heart. Sheโs passionate, stubborn, and driven (pun fully intended), and her voice is so authentic it feels like reading a personal diary. What sets this book apart is its layered storytelling. The plot moves fluidly between past and present as Stella reflects on the men who have shaped her: Reid and Nate. Reid is fire, reckless, magnetic, and utterly consuming. Nate is water; steady, nurturing, but with hidden depth. And Stella? Sheโs caught in the middle, torn between love and logic, safety and passion, stability and the unknown. The emotional tension is unrelenting. Kate Stewart masterfully uses music as a backdrop, practically making it a character of its own. Each chapter opens with a song, and the lyrics weave seamlessly into the emotional beats of the story. Itโs more than a playlist, itโs a heartbeat. If you're a music lover, this book will hit differently. Beneath the romance lies a deeper exploration of grief, identity, addiction, and the lies we tell ourselves to survive. This isnโt a fluffy, feel-good romance and itโs messy, honest, and at times gut-wrenching. But that's exactly what makes it unforgettable. By the time I reached the end, I was a mess of tears, hope, and a desperate need to listen to the entire playlist on repeat. Drive isnโt just a book, itโs a feeling. It reminded me how wild, painful, and beautiful it is to fall in love. Highly recommend for fans of emotionally intense, character-driven romance with depth, grit, and a soundtrack thatโll stay with you long after the last page.

Simply sublime!
Reviewed by Sharon Thรฉrรจse Seeing that Drive had been highly recommended to me by my book buddies, I succumbed to one-clicking and to be quite honest, had no regrets whatsoever. But more important, they knew this standalone novel would get me out of the horrendous book slump I was in. This is the first book Iโve read by this author and I must confess that I had no wish to put pen to paper! What. A. Shocker! Now then; there are two reasons. Firstly, I donโt do rock star romances. I have in the past and as theyโve never grabbed me, I truly didnโt know what to expect from this one. Secondly, I just wanted to sit back and enjoy the book and make no notes. Saying that, I couldnโt help but highlight more than one heart-wrenching passage. The beginning of this book was a cruel tease to put it mildly, and having been previously warned to brace myself, to put my big girl panties on, helped little. This complex love story is executed in such a way that it was like going on an unforeseen journey overflowing with emotions...Thoughtfully played out on the authorโs part, her canny narrative kept me on tenterhooks throughout the book which in itself, is highly commendable and get this, literally knocked me for six! โI want you in a million different ways, but when you look at me like that, all I can think of is one.โ Stella is my perfect heroine. So damn sassy, so loud-mouthed, nosey and so blinkinโ unpretentiousโwhose ambitions were to become a music journalist, managed to weave her very being under my skin at the drop of a hat. She made me gasp, cry and shout out aloud explicits that werenโt actually due... You have to get to know this gal knocking on 20ish to appreciate her stance and even when the tough gets going, her positive attitude reflects on how strong she is, her โdriveโ. โI canโt believe youโre giving up. If you could only for one second, see what I see. Just believe in me,โ I wasnโt the only one to battle alongside Reid, a struggling but brilliant drummer. His bestie who was too close to home for my liking, happens to be Stellaโs older sister and only she and another true friend really knew what he was going through. Consequently, Paigeโs protective actions had such a devastating effect that I could have bashed her on the head with my Kindle. Of course, the cat isnโt let out of the bag until well into the story which made the constant angst unbearable. โI existed before Reid, lived through loving him, and was left to exist again while knowing what living felt like.โ However unfair true love can be, both Nate and Reid showed me that if you fight enough for it, it is in your grasp. Love is enough for healing, itโs enough waiting for, itโs irrational and difficult to control. Also, the past influences when it catches up, memories are hard to live with and can too easily break up a relationship. My feeling were totally divided...if I wanted Nate to win Stellaโs undying affection, I thought Reid deserved her just as much. All these points are extremely well conveyed...not always logical as is in the ways of the heart, but made me see our feelings are indeed on par with the opposite sex. I adored Nateโs patience. Winning Stella over was like listening to a game of verbal foreplay, their tooing and froing a pleasure to read. Never mincing words, Nate new what he wanted from word go. Then again, however detached Reid seemed to be, Stellaโs encouragement silently brought out the best in him. So how on earth this gorgeous gal get herself into such a love-pickle is for you guys to find out! โWhat was it about a womanโs psyche that refuses to let us ignore the old aches, the ancient pains, and the memories of the men we bind ourselves to?โ Flipping the pages at a ridiculous speed didnโt sate my need to find out would happen, what was on the cards for these three beautiful people. I was even tempted to take a peek at the ending. Thank goodness I didnโt cave in and kept on reading! Reid I had to learn to love, Nate I fell madly for since he could do no wrong. I loved the story's timespan and the spot on secondary character development didn't just transport me into their lives, each and everyone of them drove home the influence music has on us. Stellaโs bestieโs always in the foreground even when there are miles between them, the band and family members with all their traits, were essential to the making of an unforgettable read. I was bowled over by the interactive playlist that you just have to listen to. The authorโs taste in music is fabulously eclectic...loved how she melded the songs into the scenes! What more can I say without spoiling this second chance romance for you! Ms Stewart, thank you for swaying my opinion regarding rock star romances. BRAVO!

Music, Love, and Heartbreak. What more do you need?
****Quote Spoilers**** Rating 10/5 ๐ฅ๐ฅ/5 "It was always the music that hurt me most. It did the most damage." I decided to do a reread in honor of Reverse coming out next week, and damn I wasnโt prepared to be wrecked all over again. Seldom do I find books that resonate with the deepest parts of my soul. Where the connection is all-consuming enough that it completely takes over my life. Every time I have read this story, it has been everything that I needed. There were times when I needed the rawness of heartbreak. Other times, I needed to believe in genuine love. No matter what it was, this story always delivered; itโs one of my comfort reads. Iโve said it before, and Iโll say it again. Kate Stewart can do no wrong in my eyes. Iโve never had an author have such a strong chokehold on my mental stability as the Queen herself. I absolutely love her writing style. "If Iโm not what you need, then go find it. I bared myself to you, and you didnโt have the decency to fall in love with me. I probably will hate you. I fell for you, scared, but I did it anyway. " When I say this story annihilated my will to live lol I mean that. I have read this book a few times now, and I also have the audio version, and every time I read it, it chips at my heart. The story is complete perfection. Itโs raw and beautiful. It may not be the story you want, but itโs the story you NEED. I wanted so badly to be team Nate! In any logical setting, he is the clear choice. He has flaws, of course, but heโs almost perfection. However, love isnโt logical. Itโs complicated and rash and often misguided. In the same breath, Reid isnโt the obvious and right choice, but then he also is. Reid is everything you want but shouldnโt. Heโs passion and fire. He is the wish you make that doesnโt always come true, but when and if it does, itโs explosive. Itโs not always everything you wished it would be, but itโs everything you need. "Reid?" "Yes, Grenade?" It was another blow to the chest, but I could still feel his smile. "Tell me that life magically starts to happen." "One minute past desperation, baby." I promise. Iโm living proof. "Believe me, Stella. " "Okay." "I love you," he whispered before he hung up. Despite wanting Reid and Stella to end up together, I will never stop wanting the best for Nate. He will always deserve better! He was willing to give Stella the world, but unfortunately, he was just a little too late. The story starts with Nate getting married, and truly, all I can hope is that his new love story is all-consuming. He deserves the world. "I want to split a paper with you over breakfast. I want to find out what your favorite movie is. I want to know everything about you, and despite my best efforts, youโve given me less than shit. I want you in a million different ways, but when you look at me like that, all I can think of is one. " I went into this story blind and I am so grateful I did. Although I wouldnโt say I always gravitate to the love triangle trope, but this one is written beautifully. It makes your heart break in the best way. I will never not recommend this book. Please give it a read. You will fall head over heels for these characters! "I couldnโt make promises then, Stella. I had nothingโless than nothingโand inside I felt like I was constantly on the spin cycle. I couldnโt stop spiraling. I couldnโt tell you this then. You were scared enough just starting out, and I was so damn desperate.โ

5 stars is not enough for this book!!
Drive by Kate Stewart 5 stars!!! โYou have to wait one minute past desperation...โ To be honest, 5 stars is not enough for this book. Out of the thousands and thousands of books I have read I have two all-time favourites that I recommend to anyone who will listen. These two books have been on that list for a long time with no stand out books that have deserved to match themโฆuntil now. I have read this book three times already, three times this book has destroyed me and each time of reading, despite knowing what is coming, it hurt just as much as the first. That is testament to this authors innate ability to master emotion. With a Kate Stewart read you experience everything, she immerses you into the lives of her characters so naturally and absolutely that when they hurt, you hurt. You take her characters into your heart and soul, you live and breathe their love, their pain, their highs and their lows, they smile you smile, they love you love. I experienced this like life itself, it felt real, and despite the many highs, the lows hurt like a beetch. โYou canโt go beating up everyone that pisses you off. Use your words, I promise you they are much better weapons. But be careful with them because bruises heal.โ For me, this was one of those EPIC reads. One of those reads that you will remember for a lifetime, a book that I will read time and time again and one that will never age. I know I am harping on about the tears I spilled, but for me, emotion is everything. I am an emotional reader, I have to live and breathe a book to truly connect with the characters and when a book truly destroys me, the way that this book did, it deserves ALL the PRAISE. I am trying to convey just how special this book was. This book is one of my unicorns, I am now the proud owner of three. โEven in hindsight, with all your mistakes disappearing in the distance, the things you got right are right alongside them. Iโd made the mistake in only looking for the hurtโฆโ Drive is an epic journey of self-discovery, life lessons, love lessons and everything else in between. Music plays a huge part in this book, for all the characters, and if you experience this book the interactive way, by clicking on the music link on each chapter heading you will only fall deeper into the Kate Stewart abyss and truly experience this book heart, mind, body and soul. The balance and flow of this book was PERFECT. Angst in spades, but more importantly heat and passion, laughs, a lot of love and that all-encompassing emotion. โWelcome to adulthoodโฆIt effing sucks here.โ This book was captivating from start to finish as you live Stellaโs life as she tries to find her place in the world. We start in the present but Kate Stewart soon takes us back to how Stella, became Stella. Stella was a journalist and her specialty was music. Her father in particular had born her love of music and music was her blood, her life line, her de-stress, her true love. Stella wasnโt Stella without her music. Along her travels, making her mark and discovering new talent we also follow Stellaโs love life which is full of highs and lows and this is where Kate Stewart comes into her own. Kate Stewart always writes fantastic heroโs and with Drive there is more than one to choose from and I dare anybody not to fall in love with them both. This is not a love triangle per se, there is no cheating, just one heck of an all-encompassing love story, that will have your heart beating a mile minute, the tears plentiful and the highs far outweighing the lows. โWhen it came to the men in my life, my emotions were my kryptonite, and so was my indecision.โ Stella was an amazing heroine, it is rare for me to love a heroine as much as the hero but with Stella she wore her heart on her sleeve, she was an open book, opinionated, sassy but vulnerable with her charming personality a mask for the naรฏve and fearful woman underneath. As this book progresses though you witness Stellaโs metamorphosis to the strong, independent, yet still extremely lovable woman she becomes. Her journey was tough and hard fought, there were no winners and losers, Kate Stewart brought this book to a close perfectly. โBecause music is the heartโs greatest librarian. A few notes had the ability to transport me back in time, and to the most painful places.โ As I said above, this is more than a book, it is an experience, like a movie that you are watching in glorious technicolour. It will infuriate you, it will make you laugh, it will make you cry, but at the end, even though you will be physically and emotionally exhausted you can only look back in stunned silence and wonder what the hell you had just read. This is by far my favourite Kate Stewart book. This author truly outdid herself with one hell of a memorable book, one that as I said before I will read time and time again. This is a slow burn, as Kate Stewart sets the scene, but once this book comes into its own around the 40% mark there is no going back. Captivating and unputdownable this is definitely a book you should read with a glass of wine, a huge bar of chocolate and a box of Kleenex, especially if you are a soft sap like me. โMoney used to be the whole effing problem and now it canโt solve anything.โ I could harp on about this book forever, but then it will just be boring, so all I am going to say is READ IT. Experience this as the author intended, go in blind and live, breathe and feel this book, it is truly AMAZING!! โI used to think I was cursed for having fallen in love with two men. But, in hindsight, I realized what a gift it was. They were my lovers, my teachers, my best friends, and I would love them both until I took my last breath.โ

Let me tell you, I have struggled with a review and rating on this book for over a week. I'm probably still going to struggle. In typical Kate Stewart fashion, it ripped my heart out and everything had me emotional. I still haven't recovered. I couldn't put it down. This is a love triangle situation and I just wanted to know where it was going to go or who she would end up with. It really does a damn good job at keeping you guessing until the end too. Overall I really love the FMC Stella and how much she grows over the years. She feels really relatable and her emotion really comes out of the pages. I also loved all the incorporation of music and the present setup with her driving home to who she picked. It isn't a five star for me, because she doesn't end up with the man I thought she should have. That being said I didn't hate the other. One just felt more right over the other for me and her choice shattered my heart. I'm not writing them off, but love triangles might not be my favorite. That said though, I still really enjoyed the emotional roller coaster that this book was. I think it was beautifully and well written especially as a love triangle. It made me a bigger fan of the author. Despite me being really upset with her upon finishing. If you are a fan of rockstar or love triangle romances, or you're a fan of Kate Stewart, I definitely recommend picking this one up!

Drive is an epic story of love, self-discovery
THIS is one of those books that I will be recommending to all of my friends, because Kate Stewart has delivered in a big way with this book! Drive is an epic story of love, self-discovery, and it blew me away! The perfect amount of angst, steam, laughs, and emotion, Drive is my favorite Stewart book to date! Drive starts with Stella on top of the world. Her career is in the exact place she always dreamed. Her life is where she always thought it would be. Then she gets a phone call that rocks her. She hears a song, and it sends her in the past. We get to see Stellaโs story though music. Her story really starts when sheโs in college and trying to make it as a struggling music journalist. Love, loss, friendship, and music. This story has it all. Itโs a love story, but itโs also a journey. Stellaโs story is written in such a unique way. I love the music throughout the story, the way the chapters go, and just the over-all vibe of the book. This story is so well written, so captivating, and will keep you glued to the pages. The characters will work their way in your heart. Stella just might be my favorite character Kate has ever written. I loved everything about her. And Reid. Sigh. I adored him! Reid is a new book boyfriend for sure. As much as I loved Reid, I loved Nate, too. There were moments I was torn with how I wanted the story to go, but it worked out the way it was supposed to. For those of you who love Kateโs more angsty and emotional books, you wonโt be disappointed in Drive! This book had the perfect amount of angst and gave me all the feels I needed. In true Kate fashion, it also had some laughs. I canโt remember the last time I was so immersed in a book. Drive hooked me from the start and never let go. It was phenomenal. Stellaโs story is completely unforgettable and will be towards the top of my favorites list for 2017! This is one I highly recommend, and itโs a stand-alone (WIN!) Definitely pick it up! Itโs a MUST READ!

Drive by Kate Stewart is stand-alone NA contemporary romance that is told from the female main characterโs POV. Kate Stewart has written yet another page turner that will have you constantly thinking about it long after itโs done. Itโs a masterpiece that delves into the ugly and the beautiful side of having fallen in love with two men in one lifetime and it truely took me on an emotional journey. I laughed, I cried, I swooned and every other emotion this book had to throw at me. I loved how uniquely written this story is, how it completely sucked me in to the point that I was constantly thinking and dreaming about it and how all the side characters werenโt just apart of the story but helped the development of it. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves an angsty romance that will hit you in all the feels! Please note: This book does contain scenes that some may consider as cheating.

a must read
I'm a big fan of Kate Stewart. The Ravenhood series was my absolut highlight. I'm so addicted to this series and I haven't been able to forget about it to this day. So it was not a question, but a must to read DRIVE. And I absolutly love this book. This book is so full of truths, obstacles and hopes. A women who never gets over her first and so intense love. Reid. OMG i love this character and his development. Reid was so lost and hopeless. Stella never gave up on him and believed in him so strongly. Their love lasted short but was so deep. Almost at the same time she met Nate, her future handsome employer. After Reid left her to supprt his alcoholic parents, Stella an Nate get closer. Nate fell in love with her first and Stella gave him a chance, although she could never forget Reid. Their love was also honest and safe, but nevertheless Reid was in her mind. Until the end we don't know which love will win. Will she choose Reid, Nate or her passion the music.

Loved this book!!!
The Bittersweet Symphony Duet* - SPOILER It's 3:30AM and I've just finished Reverse the second book of this series. I could not put this book down with the anxiety to know that everything was going to be OK. Only in the last chapters of the book I could finally breathe with the realisation that this love story was going to have the ending that it deserved. The rollercoaster of emotions I felt reading this book has brought me to tears once again while writing this thank you. Listening to the playlist once again remembering every chapter and every struggle and victory. I have not felt such feelings for so long while reading a book, the music also had a very big role in this journey. Being a music lover myself the carefulness of every chapter being accompanied by song made this all so beautiful to witness. I would have to say that my favourite part would have to be chapter 19 - The elevator. The music accompanying this chapter totally shattered me, bringing us into their intimate world and all that they are feeling while listening to the music and saying everything with just a look in their eyes. The spice in this book was also a whole other level, so intimate and beautiful, you could feel the connection between the two main characters, so well done. The duet as a whole was 5 stars one book cannot be read without the other. ๐๐๐๐๐/5 ๐ถ๏ธ๐ถ๏ธ๐ถ๏ธ.5/5

Heartbreakingly beautiful story - absolutely loved it
Wow, I'm kind of lost for words and full to the brim of thoughts and emotions after finishing this incredible story - I can honestly say it's one of the best books I've ever read. The way it's written, the characters I have fallen in love with throughout - Stella, Reid and Nate as well as several side characters, the best friends Ben and Lexi, the way it intertwines with the music. We see and feel the love and passion, pain and hurt, tough decisions and the heartbreak and loss of all three as Stella learns to accept that to be ultimately happy, sometimes you have to let go of it all and trust yourself and your dreams. Stella's heart felt journey unfolds to her play list, the songs that mean so much, bringing back the memories of the key times that shaped her life, as she drives the long route home to the man who will always be waiting, no matter what. โI want you to know I respect your decision. I hate being the bigger man because that means I . . .โ He exhaled. โLose you. But you have to know I never wanted to see those tears. Iโm done hurting you.โ โI know.โ โI love you, always, no matter what. You need to know that.โ Reid or Nate, Nate or Reid? Two beautiful men who would love forever. The soulful, talented rock star who's had to overcome so many demons to become the man he wants to be and knows Stella deserves, or the hardworking gorgeous writer who also overcame so much and gave Stella so many of her dreams. What a journey!! I had my hopes even though I knew I would hurt for the man she left behind, but I never knew for sure how this would end, how the music would play out, until it did. My tears fell for the last few chapters, but it ended with tears and smiles combined as mine, Stella, Reid and Nate's heart was put lovingly back together. Absolutely fantastic Kate Stewart, if I could give more than 5 stars I would. This book is going to remain strongly in my thoughts for a very long time.
