Kasp K30050 Graphite Powder, 1 - pack A

Having just needed to replace an outdoor 5-lever lock, a review of which will be following shortly... along with the angle grinder blades I need to cut the old lock out... I decided to purchase a lock lubricant. I have been around a few years and know a bit about most things, but it came as a surprise to me that locks should not be lubricated by using spray lubricants. My use of such over a number of years may have contributed to the lock's failure. It seized, and my superhuman strength broke the key inside the lock... I'm still rather proud of that !! So I decided to buy some lubricant, and chose the Kasp K30050 Graphite Powder, a manufacturer I'd heard of, which is always reassuring. When it arrived, I was pleased with the size of the plastic bottle it came in. It comes with a long neck through which I assume one would squirt the graphite into each lock. This appeared potentially messy, so I gave that a miss. I decided to coat the blade of the key before insertion... which worked well for the keys that went in horizontally, but not so well for those entering vertically. Any spillage is a pain to clear up. The net result however is old locks are starting to feel like new again. I'm happy with the purchase, it will last for years, and routine maintenance is taken care of, if lubricating locks is one of your things... it is now one of mine. Five Stars

Just what I needed for my lock. You aren't supposed to use oil on door locks, and this is a good price for good quality graphite powder. Use a bit of paper or tissue under the key, puff some of the power on it, then put it in the lock and turn it around a lot. Do it twice as the first time it won't get enough in there. Don't just puff it into the lock like some do as this is messy and it won't get where you need it.

Seems good and will hopefully work for the purposes I require - two prevent two baffle pin sleeves from seizing in stove. Advice, don't do what I did on first use and squeeze too hard when trying to distribute, otherwise you will be left in a haze of graphite powder (this was user error, not down to a product issue).

It worked instantly!. The front door's lock was jammed and the key was stuck, it wouldn't turn or come out. So i put some of this powder straight into the hey whole and then with a bit of force at first, the key started to turn, and now it just turns smoothly. I think it works by grabbing whatever grease is inside the keyhole. Great product.

It's a bit awkward to get into a fitted lock, even applying it to the key doesn't really work, as most of it falls off. I placed some in a fold of paper, then used a straw to blow it into the opening of the keyhole. The lock was noticeably smoother in operation after adding graphite. Job done.

Got this as I was having trouble getting my Yale key in and out of the lock on my front door. A squirt of this into the lock and a little bit on the key and it worked like a charm.

Used this on an Abus padlock and a Yale door lock, both that were giving me trouble from new. Put some on the respective keys, slid em in, and locked/unlocked it a few times. The difference is night and day, and it now feels like I'm not going to get locked out of my house or shed now... ​I’ve tried WD-40 and similar before, but it attracts dirt and doesn't work well for long. This stuff works perfectly, and no greasy mess. Definitely worth having in the drawer for whenever a lock starts acting up.

Had a "sticky" lock and could not get the key in. Quick spray of this into the lock and a little on the key and it is good as new. Saved me 50 Euros buying a new one

Hilft super bei Schlössern, die etwas Haken. Man sollte das Pulver nur da nutzen, wo nicht schon mit Öl geschmiert wurde, denn sonst gibt es eine hartnäckige Pampe im Schloss. Bei montiertem Schloss in der Tür ist die Anwendung etwas schwierig, da man das Pulver nur schwer in den Schlitz bekommt. Aber wenn es erstmal drin ist und man ein wenig mit Schlüssel hin und her dreht läuft alles wie am ersten Tag. Durch die Mindestbestellmenge von 2 Packungen habe ich jetzt genug Graphitpulver für alle Schlösser bis ans Ende meines Lebens

Avevo la serratura della porta blindata che iniziava ad essere molto dura e chiudersi con difficoltà. Ho messo un po di polvere di graffite nella serratura, girato un po' di volte la chiave ed ora è perfetta e non cigola. Il beccuccio non è di gran precisione. Ho messo dello scootex sotto alla porta per raccogliere i residui, ma la polvere si è dispersa comunque attorno.

Our front door lock was sticking and I purchased this product to see if it would help. I read that these products can be messy so I took a paper towel held it below the lock before I squeesed the power in. I gave it two puffs and only a little hit the paper towel. I put the key in the lock and it turned very smooth. Product works, need to see if cold weather has any effect on it but right now the results are great.
