Works well. Reasonably well made, easy to use, instructions clear and concise. Cheaper than getting a man out for a simple fix. Can't fault it.

1) Build quality. It is a very light weight plasticky little box, with a needle that flops aboout at the slightest touch. First impressions are not good ones. 2) You have to read the instructions, particularly Section 4. I have seen other reviews saying that the unit detected nothing, well... they may well have had a dead unit, but it is also just as likely that they did not fully follow the steps. 3) It is finicky to use, but that it more to do with the fact that you are up a ladder, trying to uncrew weathered nuts on rusted screwthreads. 4) Once I had it connected up and the wife had powered up the equipment, two lights came on the unit, as well as a light illuminating the dial. 5) Either my signal is weak, or the unit is not as sensitive as the manufacturer implies. Rather than start with the "sensitivity control dial" on minimum, mine had to be dialled up to near max strength to get a decent signal. 6) Once the signal is being received there is an audible noise/alarm. I then dialled the sensitivity back to the middle of the scale and by moving the satelite dish around you try to make the sensitivity dial go higher. In my case I never go the signal strength to over the value of "7" once I had found the correct position of the sensitivity control dial. 7) The actual corridor of the strong signal is extremely precise, flexing the satellite dish will stop the audible sound and thus the signal is lost. It is sensitive enough to fine tune your dish postion. Therefore, if you are looking to reset the position of your satellite dish after it has been knocked then this is a great little device. You get the general satellite postion using GPS on your phone and an app and this can dial it in. I have had not signal breakups since using it. It feels and is cheap. It is a little finicky to set up and use, but if you follow the instruction it is a cheap way to get the job done.

I don't usually write reviews, but in this case I decided I must! Had to realign my dish after moving it away from an extended shed roof. I got it close by a smart phone app, but wanted it perfect without spending too much so took a punt on this item. I noticed predominantly good reviews, but a number of questionable ones that I don't really understand or agree with on such a simple item unless its faulty from new or used incorrectly. From my perspective as a retired electrical engineer, this item if used using correct methods is a superb, cheap and simple one man dish alignment tool. The variable tone it delivers allows a peak position to be found very easily through slight movements. As a number of people have mentioned always power down completely the reciever/sky box/set top box before making and braking any LNB connections. Not doing so is not just a risk to this cheap box but the more expensive reciever too. Make sure the gain knob on this box is turned to minimum before powering up. Set the gain to half scale ish on the little box after powering up and set the dish left/right to peak and tighten. Set half scale on the little box again and set the up/down then tighten. Then finally repeat for the LNB fine tune rotation setting if required. Power down again to disconnect the little box and reconnect LNB. Perfect.

Pros:- It has an easy to adjust & decently sized sensitivity knob, The analogue scale shows even very small changes in signal level, The red LEDs nicely show what control supply voltage is arriving at the LNB, The green LEDs nicely show whether the 22kHz tone from the receiver is arriving at the LNB or not, (the above 2 points are VERY useful when trying to track down an intermittent connection. Cons:- The sensitivity could not be set low enough for the meter to be set lower than pointer hard against the RHS which made it impossible to actually use it to do the final alignment of the satellite dish. OK I am using a 1M dish in the Midlands where 60cm is the norm, but it should allow for such things. Edit 07/Oct/2015 Credit must go to the seller CSL-Computer. A day after my 3 star review was posted I received a message from to say that a full refund was on its way. No hassles or requests, not even a request to send it back, just an unconditional refund! So here is an updated review..... The weekend after I first used the unit I tried again to find out why some Freesat channels were dropping out. After covering up a small area of the dish with a bit of hardboard (took seconds to do which in the context of having to go up & down a ladder is nothing) to reduce the signal enough to get the needle in the middle of the dial I found that the dish was slightly misaligned. Also I was able to determine that 1 of the connectors to the receiver was making a bad contact which was causing the 22kHz tone & 13V/18V voltage to the LNB to not get through, hence some channels were showing up as not showing up (if you see what I mean). So overall I was able to achieve exactly what I wanted to. It therefore seems reasonable to change my initial 3 star review to 5 stars. And respect must go to CSL-computers for their attitude to customers problems, if only all sellers were as good. I for one would purchase from them again if I had the need.

This device is inexpensive and it worked, but attenuator seems to be a little flaky and it required some very careful adjustment. It helps if you also use a SatFinder app on your phone so you have a good idea where you are meant to be pointing the dish, and that you hook your satellite TV box up to a TV so you know when its getting a good signal. Note that the LNB is pointing at the dish at an angle, so the dish itself doesn't need to point "up" to the sky but is approximately vertical.

I recently tried out this satellite finder and was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to use. The setup was straightforward, and it quickly helped me lock onto a signal without much hassle. It definitely took the guesswork out of aligning the dish and saved me a lot of time compared to doing it by trial and error. The only thing I noticed is that while it works very well for getting the dish pointed in the right direction, it could be a little more sensitive for fine tuning the signal. A bit more precision would make it perfect, especially for maximizing weaker channels. Best I can get to is 77% and that's with also using the satellite finder website with azimuth and degree of the dish being as suggested. Also remember to check the LNB skew as this can also improve the signal. Overall though, it’s a reliable, user-friendly tool that gets the job done and makes the process a lot smoother that trying without.
