3/4" Brass Washing Machine Blanking Cap

Underneath my sink its plumbed for both a cold tap and a hot tap. Well, my washer finally died and I had to order a new one. That washer was in my cottage when I bought it and still used the two pipe inlet system, hot and cold pipes plumbed in. My new washer when it arrived only has one inlet pipe, a cold one. So I found myself with an unused/open ended pipe which concerned me a bit, so I hunted around for a solution and found I could buy a brass blanking cap to cover it safely. I just hoped it fitted when I ordered, I didn’t measure it prior to ordering, assuming they were a standard size. It arrived yesterday and it screwed on perfectly, blocking off that now unused hot pipe and I now feel secure that it won’t gush out washer if the tiny little red tap on it is accidentally banged and opened. I am delighted. An easy and secure, quick solution to my problem. Very cheap too, a lot cheaper than asking a pesky ‘cost an arm and a leg’ plumber to sort it out and I was able to do it myself. This plumbing lark is quite easy when you get into it lol

This is very good, and easy to fit. It simply screwed into place- a perfect fit for my unused washing machine tap - the “hot” one had become redundant years ago, and although it didn’t leak, I was always a bit worried about it being turned on accidentally (or mischievously). While I’m not sure it wouldn’t leak (and I hope I never need to find out), I’m confident it would prevent that disastrous hot geyser - at worst, a slight seeping, perhaps. It’s sturdy, solid brass, with a good thread, and it screws easily onto a standard UK washing machine outlet tap. Job done.

Wanted to block off the old HW feed to a washing machine that now feeds cold only this fits perfect ty. Quick postage and high quality, may be able to buy local cheaper but good next day postage was handy for me.

I used these to blank off 3 connections on my pergola leaving one to connect to a water butt. Seems fine, no issues with it. Just too early to give 5 stars so far.

The brass cap was exactly as described, very keenly priced and very easy to fit. Dispatch and delivery were super quick, too. I was particularly impressed by the speed and efficiency of the supplier. My husband, who is not DIY inclined, had the cap securely fitted with the washer supplied in a very short time. No leaks and nothing else required. New auto-washer, cold fill only, is up and running now.

Essential for anyone who has a cold fill washing machine but hot and cold feed connections under the sink. I've never plumbed a washing machine before but it went well. This sort of blanking cap is quite hard to find in stores. Which is weird because it's a problem I imagine a lot of people have - most old houses have a hot and cold feed and most new washers are cold fill only. The blanking cap was cheap, arrived within 2 or 3 days and was exactly what I was after. Thanks!

Maybe this is obvious to some people, but I'm no plumber. I recommend using some kind of sealant with this. I tried just screwing the cap on to the end of the pipe. (Tight, washer in place, no crossed threads.) When I tested it by opening the tap on the pipe, quite a lot of water squirted out past the cap. I took it off, dried everything and fitted it again, this time using some silicone grease which I happened to have handy, and left it for an hour. When I next tried releasing the tap, after a couple of seconds a drop of water squeezed out, so it's not completely watertight and I'm really depending on the tap. Maybe with the right kind of plumber's sealant, it would have sealed the pipe perfectly. Some information about this with the product would have been helpful.

Superb service - arrived next day! Sold by PlumbinBitsUK - I paid £1.34 with free delivery. I was very happy with this. It actually fits a 1 inch wash machine tap thread end - the 3/4 inch in it's title is confusing - nevermind! Was just the job, perhaps slightly loose on the thread, which was easily remedied by putting white plumbers PTFE tape around the thread (not over any end sealing surface, which connects with the rubber washer inside cap). Did it up perfectly and it is totally water-tight - turned tap on to test it - wonderful. 3 or 4 minutes to fit - used a 30mm socket and ratchet. So very very pleased. Job done!

Der Verschluss kam im Luftpolsterbeutel bei mir an. Beigelegt war die abgebildete Einlegscheibe aus Gummi oder wahrscheinlicher Kunststoff. Die Verarbeitung wirkt gut, es sind weder Macken noch Scharten zu erkennen und es stehen auch keine Metallspäne ab. Nach Montage auf das 3/4" Außengewinde meiner Y-Abzweigung für den Waschmaschinenanschluss tropft da endlich nichts mehr. Über ein Versagen des Ventils muss ich mir jetzt auch keine Sorgen mehr machen, wenn wir mal längere Zeit weg sind. Volle Punktzahl, da passt alles.

Der Versand ging schnell und der Verschluss ist wertig vetarbeitet, so das es keinerlei hakeln oder Kraft bedarf diesen zu instalieren. Im Anschluss eine halbe Umdrehungen mit der Rohrzange und alles war Wasserdicht.
