Do you apply this to the thread and olive or just the thread?

If its a joint with an olive then put it on and around the olive as thats whats sealing the joint. If you are using just a threaded joint / tapered thread joint then apply to the tread with or without thread tap / cord aswell if you like. Cheers have a good Christmas
