Just buy it you wont be disappointed! You need to use a lightweight clumping litter with it. one that the rack can pass through. Dont get me wrong you still have to do a little maintain on it but literally once a week and emptying the plastic bag when its full. other than that the litter stays clean and fresh bad smells are dealt with in a timely fashion by the scoop. My two cats love it as well as being fascinated when it whirls in to action..

it does it's job, but it grinds a bit like its straining ands thats even when empty but it gets through and picks most of poop up now my cat has taken to riding on it, pity you cant get a cover for it...

I love this. It's been 8 months and it's still working, however I can see how the motor will wear out. But still, if I buy it one a year I still would because my god is it a god send with two cats. Key is to almost under fill, and use greenwoods natural litter, it's flushable and works perfectly. Biodegradable, not expensive.

I've had this automatic box for around 10 months, and overall it is great for the price. Sure you could spend a few hundred more on something truly lavish, but this thing accomplishes a very simple and very important goal: I no longer have to worry about cat litter every single day. I can forget for a couple days and the machine has me covered. And at first I was disappointed that it doesn't have a cover, but believe me, you wouldn't want a cover. You need to be able to see where the machine makes mistakes. As I mentioned, the machine sometimes misses things. Sometimes chunks of stuff will end up stuck just out of reach of the rake, right on the very edges of the box. So you need to give it a helping hand there, and you also need to go in to the box 2-3 times a week and clear up any clumps of litter that might be solidifying in the corners of the box where the rake doesn't really touch directly. Sometimes if your cat wants to use the exact same spot in the box all the time, you'll end up with the storage box overflowing just in that one spot, with nothing else in the rest of the reservoir. So really it's wise to attend to the storage box and help remove clumps as soon as you notice it. And there's another reason you want to empty the storage box fairly frequently: the smell inside. So yes, realistically you're going to want to empty the box every couple of days, but the fuller it gets, the worse the smell gets, and it gets really bad if you let the box fill up. I would recommend just thinking of all that storage space as 'insurance' for two-day vacations or if you forget for a while. I only noticed a couple problems. One, where the motor wasn't able to return fully to its docked position, and I got an amber light warning. I found out I had just carelessly allowed some litter to build up on the platform that the box sits on while docked, so it was interfering with the motor. And second, if you get a power outage, you will need to press the power button again manually. The machine does not turn itself on again after a power outage! Once I figured that out, it's been smooth sailing ever since. Fantastic product.

I purchased my first Pet Zone Smart Scoop from Canadian Tire over six years ago and it just recently broke down over all those years of continuous use. I had very positive dealings with the company when they VOLUNTARILY sent me an updated rake for the litter box I originally purchased, and so, I had no hesitation with replacing my old one with a new one sold through Amazon. Yes, you will have to scrape up the odd stuck on litter clump or buried treasure, but I find I only have to do this once a week, and kitty loves her clean litter box. As far as I am concerned, Pet Zone uses a tried and true technology without bells and whistles. It just does the job efficiently and I am pleased to recommend this product.

Nein, es ist nicht geräuschlos und am Anfang war ich nicht zufrieden, da der Rechen nicht ganz bis zum Rand und zum Boden geht, so das jeweils gut 1.5 cm Platz ist wo nicht gerecht wird. Allerdings habe ich dann a) das richtige Streu gefunden (nicht zu fein, nicht zu grob und auf keinen Fall das aus Holz was ins Klo darf), b) meine Katze hat sich angewöhnt ziemlich mittig zu machen und c) ich hab erkannt, dass es mir wesentlich lieber ist vereinzelt mal mit der Schaufel nach zu helfen, als das komplette Klo selbst zu reinigen. Mittlerweile liebe ich das Klo. Man nimmt einfach regelmäßig die Mülltüte raus und entsorgt sie und tut eine neue rein (es funktionieren ganz normale Hsushaltsmülltüten). Der Gestank wird in der Schublade ganz gut unter Verschluss gehalten. Und alle 3-4 Wochen wechsel ich bei reiner Wohnungshaltung das Streu komplett aus. Ja, ich rieche wenn die Katze grade auf Toilette stinken war, aber nachdem das Klo gereinigt hat verzieht der Geruch recht schnell. Ich bin rundum zufrieden.
