Oxford English Mini Dictionary

Perfect for my daughter for school

This mini dictionary is the perfect portable size for school bags, office drawers, or travel. Despite its small footprint, it contains an impressive number of definitions and clear, up-to-date language notes that are easy to understand. Dropped one star only because the compact size means the print is quite small, which might be a bit difficult to read for some. Overall, it is an exceptionally reliable and handy little reference book!

I was writing with a pen just a few weeks ago & I had a little trouble spelling the word ‘Business’ I got it after a few moments but it’s a straightforward English word from the language of which I’m fluent! So shock horror when for the life of me I was again writing & I just couldn’t spell ‘Unnecessary’ honestly if my life depended on it I wouldn’t be typing this out now! So I’ve got a large bulky dictionary but I thought of one these smaller ones & I came on Amazon in my time of need, I was really worried & I know that the problem is & it’s blatantly modern technology mainly the mobile phone & with my phone if I actually type out the full word for some reason when I look back upon what I’ve typed it’s gibberish, it makes no literal sense, none at all so I started pressing the prepared words, the assumed / predicted words & it’s just messed with my ability to spell, it’s badly messed with my ability to spell (!) I’ve basically became the generation that I abhor in terms of laziness. Anyway I got the dictionary & the Thesaurus along with the copy of them both together as a joke for my mother who’s spelling has been abysmal way before the “Smart” phone came along. It’s a great fascinating read anyway the dictionary but if you feel yourself leaning on technology more & more on what ‘should be’ simple second nature things like writing & knowledge go back to basics & well this is re-humanising me slowly.

reliable dictionary, if the character size can be a little bit bigger will be even better

Very nice and was able to Read

Always had one of these as a kid, and I wanted my daughters to have the same for school - the Oxford English Mini Dictionary is still just as useful. Compact enough to slip into a school bag, yet packed with clear definitions and helpful guidance. Great for homework, writing, or just building vocabulary. It’s a timeless tool that encourages learning without relying on screens. The mini size makes it easy to carry, and the quality is spot on. Highly recommended for students, writers, or anyone who loves words.

Perfect size! This Oxford English mini dictionary is absolutely brilliant! What I love most is how portable it is - it slips easily into a bag or even a coat pocket, making it perfect for students, travelers, or anyone who wants quick access to word meanings on the go.

Thanks Amazon for delivering this quite ahead of the mentioned timeline. Though I had purchased a used one, the condition of this dictionary was as good as a new. My idea was to use this as a starter for my kid & it's quite useful that way. Some corner words aren't present, as expected as this is a mini-dictionary & not a full-fledged. Couldn't have asked for more at this price point. Overall, very happy with the delivery & the dictionary !!
