Denon DJ SC LIVE 4 Standalone DJ Controller Black

firstly this thing is a beast for playing out. the built in speakers , although polorizing, are a great additon for me. the venue i play at has the dj booth behind and to the side of the speakers so accurate monitoring can be challenging. the speakers on the unit add clarity and just a but more push so i know exactly what im doing, engine dj is fantastic on the unit itself. once you are familiar with the menus it becomes second nature very quickly. ive seen people complain that there is no mic eq but there is a whole section dedicated to it in the menu and even has adjustable talkover which is great for presenting games away from the unit and still having music running. i run off a 1tb sd card and although initial load takes a while im not surprised. its a lot of music to index but once done the search is quick and finds what i want every time. being able to use different sources at the same time is also a life save. i run beatport, amazon music and tidal alongside my own libary and can jump between them without having to log in and out of each multiple times. the screen, although a little small, is crystal clear and not cramped at all. being able to configure the display exactly how you want is great too. ive played on the prime 4 as well and defenatly prefer the worckflow on this unit. the layout if more intuitive for me and easier to find things you need right at your fingertips. the addition of a hardrive bay would make this thing perfect. i have added a usb hub to the back corner with some velcro because the usb ports are fiddly to access if another dj is playing alongside me. this has worked perfectly and even djs with rekord box collections have been able to seemlessly jump on and have been surprised just how fun this is to use.the desktop software however is a bit frustrating to use. after the initial set up and analysing my libary and rendering out stems (this unit can do stems !!!) it manages the music well enough but adding new folders to the sync manager takes ages as the software insists on analysing the whole libary again instead of just letting me add 2 folders. im sure that this will be fixed in future revisions though as its something a lot of users on the forums are complaining about.i do recomend getting a case and screen protector for this as if looked after i think it will last me well for years. ive not had any of the issues that others have mentiond with weak faders bit time will have to tell with that.all in all its defenatly worth the investment. even with the slight niggles

What else can I say but I love this. Used professionally and at home personally where the built in speakers come into there own. Literally plug in and play, ideal for pre gig setup without having to set up an entire sound system to prepare a few tracks. Professionally perfect mobility and everything I need for an excellent live performance

Best thing I ever bought

Beware. My decks stopped at end of a 5 hour set no sound at all apart from inbuilt speakers so no headphone spu d or master oitput on rca to amp to speakers. Luckily it was at the end of the set well almost! Really lost confidence in Denon now

DENNON sc live 4 is a very powerful unit that packs some amazing features and has amazing sound quality with using other DENNON devices I had seen a lot of good reviews. After spending some time with it I’m very impressed with all the features and continue to find more like Bluetooth input with using pioneer dj equipment I found it easy to use and there’s many videos on social media to show you more- Great value for money and endless effects as a stand alone or virtual dj compatible I personally prefer to use it as a stand alone and great for live streaming, once you learn how to use it it’s very impressing

If you wanna just stream the system works flawlessly, If you want to play from your music collection mp3. Don’t bother. System keeps randomly losing data even though original files still showing data is good. Demon are no help at all, at over £1000 a unit keep well away. I’ve tried high performance USB devices and high speed SD Cards. All issues are random, Even after trying Fat32 and exFAT. I bought this as my club pioneer gear is too heavy for me to carry anymore, this would be perfect if not so many random issues. Very unstable system, A very unreliable unit indeed. Keep well away

Had this unit 7 months now, Very good unit. Until the inevitable happened with the faders breaking away.Having had experience with the prime 4 with exactly the same issue, over multiple units i think it's safe to say that denon cut costs by using cheap parts.Engine dj on the other hand (the software built into the unit) is brilliant. So many features within the software and would highly recommend.The problems arise when looking claiming in the warranty (uk). There is no dedicated phone number to call to claim warranty. Support comes in the form a support ticket with "In Music" website. Unknown to me Denon Dj and Denon are completely seperate brands. In music don't do repairs in the uk and the sole point of contact is the retailer. Amazon 1st refused a replacement unit. But did offer a refund.That was the 1st advisor. I later contacted amazon by phone and the representative then offered me a replacement after I declined the refund. Now the earliest dates for delivery is the 25th January until 6 March!I've since enquired with Bop Dj for a trade in to go back to pioneer. Bop Dj called me and told me thr don't trade in Denon equipment due to issue with repairs and returns.So on all that info I would think it's safe to say avoid buying this controller as the returns process is complicated and drawn out. And the quality of the unit itself (parts) are concerning.

I am very happy with my purchase
