I only need to to do one houseplant so could someone answer how to dilute to just a 14x14cm plant & haven't any buckets nor watering can.

I only did about 5 houseplants and didn’t bother diluting - all houseplants still alive and horrible flies are dead!

can this be used on edible plants?

Yes. The nematodes live in the soil and don't transfer to the plants.

How often should I use the product once a batch has been made? (I've it once so far, have kept the rest of the batch in the fridge in a closed bottle)

As the instructions say, once activated by mixing with water you should use the batch straight away, not store it. As the nematodes are living organisms once they are activated they will die if they don't have food i.e the sciatic flies, so your saved solution is unlikely to be any good.

Does this smell? somebody recommended mosquito bits then i found out it smells

hi first off no it does not smell ,next not altogether sure its a good product, this is the third application this year it did reduce the fly somewhat but the littlie swine's have reappeared if you read the packet it recommends further applications ,Hmmmmmm fortnightly .one of the problems is watering from the top ,if the soil is wet/damp this encourages the littlie swine ,good luck
