desertcart.com: The Shakespeare Stealer: 8580001060033: Gary Blackwood: Books Review: Nice - It is very good you should read it, also their are some really funny part s in the book that people would love. Review: Very good - This book was amazing to read very interesting and fun to read! A lot of the action begins in the beginning and you think it would be boring in the end but it gets more interesting. I would recommend this to a very good 4th grade reader or a 5th grade reader. The book does have a sequel that I am going to read because this book was so good!

Highly Recomend!
The Shakespeare Stealer was by far one of the best historical fiction books I have ever read. I started off by having to read this book for school but I enjoyed it so much that I went on to read Shakespeare's Scribe and Shakespeare's Spy. The reason I give this book only four stars is because the first two or three chapters drag on and are hard to get through. Once you get through Widge's life as an orphan and his apprenticeship at Dr. Bright's the book is action packed and forces you to read, and read, and read on. Unlike some books I have read in the past The Shakespeare Stealer has a very satisfying ending. This was a great book and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys adventurous books! :-)

Great Read loud Living History
Great story! It can be difficult to find a story to read aloud to multiple ages and this story kept everyone engaged and captivated! I highly recommend it for those looking for a loving history in the Shakespeare era coming from the view point of a teen male protagonist.

Excellent!
I really think that this is a wonderful book. Widge is an orphan boy who originated in the country, and has come to London with the task of stealing a play from Shakespeare himself! Instead, he ends up a part of the Globe Theater “family" and learns some new vocabulary. Along the way, he learns that “all the world's a stage" and that some people aren't who they seem......

It was good for 15 year olds and older
The book was good, but to me, I would've liked for all of it to be normal instead of ken, wis, and aye. But otherwise, the book was great, I think it is better for people from 15 and up because I am 11 and did not quite understand it. I hope I get to read more books from Gary Blackwood when I'm older.

History comes alive
This novel set in Elizabethan England captures the sights and sounds of that time period accurately. I use it as a novel study for Grade Eight students, because it augments the study of The Renaissance so well. The characters are well developed and interesting. The author's use of humour to sustain the reader's interest helps to keep reluctant readers engaged, Customs of daily life give lots of opportunities for discussion. This novel, first of three, motivates readers to continue reading the series - a bonus for parents and teachers who are looking for books for boys and girls who don't like to read.

A fun read for tweens
It is the year 1601, and Will Shakespeare is testing some of his plays in the Globe Theater in London, when the 14-year-old orphan Widge is hired to steal one of the play scripts. In the process of gaining access to the theater, Widge is befriended by the troupe, and they treat him as one of their company. Now he must choose whether to betray his friends or risk punishment from his master. An exciting historical novel for grades 4-7, and I admit that I thoroughly enjoyed it as an adult! I'm looking forward to reading the sequel, Shakespeare's Scribe (Shakespeare Stealer)

Un libro apropiado para niños a partir de 12 años. Una historia de intriga que engancha desde las primeras páginas.

My youngest son informed me that this book was on his curriculum and that he didn't have a copy of it from the school, so I picked it up on Amazon. To be honest I've yet to read it myself, but both my kids have read it and highly recommend it as an entertaining read...

wow what a book! it's one with enough intrigue, enough descriptions, and the character is really endearing. he "Wige" will also pass through tens of trials, dangers and masters. All of this around the play "Hamlet."
