Great Quality for an artist starting out
After watching a video online many times about this easel, I knew I had to have one. Today it arrived. It was a bit fiddly to put together but once you had the parts around the right way and lined up the holes with the screws, it was straightforward. The main part of the easel is prebuilt. The wood and the whole easel are solidly made so in my mind value for money. I love it. The fact that the easel is multifunctional. i.e you can lie your canvas flat, which is what appealed to me. Also the size of the easel and the sizes of the canvases that can fit on it is just right if you only have a small art studio like me.

Excellent
Excellent solid easel. Easy to put together. Two thirds is already built so as long as you lay everything out and follow instructions, it's really straightforward. Took about half an hour to build. Easy to adjust angles etc and for the price, I think it's a brilliant product. Will last for years.

Sturdy and versatile
This easel is made well!. Its construction has a lot of thought behind it. A few people however might find it difficult to assemble, but if you follow the guide carefully, you'll achieve it within 30 minutes or so. The other downside is that there's a few knobs to turn to get your desired position, but I find that you rarely need to alter your perfect position once you find it. The wood finish is excellent and sturdy. The articulation is great and has a professional feel to it. Definitely worth the price as the easel can be versatile. You can achieve many positions from vertical to horizontal, as well as, adjust the height to suit your needs. Small to very large canvases can be mounted on this easel, so it's an investment for the budding artist who wishes to progress to bigger projects, or studio work. It doubles up as an exhibition stand too, so it's multifunctional. It's definitely not a cheap choice, but if you want that little bit more from your easel, then consider this one.

A solid entry level model
I’ve not bought an easel before or had a floor standing one. Main thing for me is no dedicated space. The wheels and folding so I can store it in an alcove. Assembly took near an hour, required a few curses, and some moral support . The bolt things for the base were difficult to line up. And I didn’t pay careful attention to which way round some pieces should go. But overall it wasn’t bad, the assembly diagrams were clear, every part is labelled with a number or letter. I’ve not used it yet beyond mounting a canvas and pretending to paint (definitely my best work!) It’ll require something to stop it tilting slightly whilst painting. I removed the wheels: it’s very difficult to fold or lean the easel against a wall when the wheels are on. I might bodge something to lock them, but it’s not too heavy to lift even for this near 70yo. It might also need something to keep it folded because there appears no way to lock it in place. I suspect the hinges may suffer over time, they were the only parts that seemed a bit flimsy and not quite aligned. Maybe 3 stars is mean considering its price and that the parts are generally well made, solid, and look good. I’d recommend it as an entry level model and if space is very limited. Just expect some bodgery is needed. And if you’re good at that, then it could be perfect for you. Edit after using it for a few months. Upgrade to high 4. Didn't need so much bodgery. Edit after using for nearly a year, fixed lower supports. The metal plates were screwed to a block of wood, but the wood was only nailed to main assembly so it came apart after a while. Drilled through whole assemble, M3x40 nuts and bolts costing a few £. Perfect.

A fantastic addition to my studio
This is a great easel. It doesn't take up too much space in my small studio and allows me to have several paintings drying at the same time. Easy to wheel around with the big wheels and is very sturdy. I gave a four for the assembly as you need to pay attention to the instructions to ensure all the bits and pieces go on at the right time. I really like the fact that you can lay this easel down like a table to help you varnish on a flat surface. The only downside for me is the very top stopper for the canvas. It's rather large and creates a shadow, but most easels do this. I turned this stopper around to create a drying shelf at the back and I use a clamp to stop my painting substrate to keep in position. A great buy.

Disappointed
Sadly the H frame floor easel, looks poor quality, no movement the hinges were rusty and not moving, and they didn’t fit properly, the wing nuts and screws were also rusting and these I could have replaced, however as the hinges were already rusting and not fitting there was no point. I had looked long and hard at buying this and others but this one was made by Meeden it convinced me. Such a let down I have set up ready to put it together imagine the disappointment. About 25% of the way through.

Great Easel - love Meeden
I have just finished my garden art studio and furnished with Meeden desk/easel, art trolley and the multi media versatile easel which I received yesterday (see photos). I wanted something I could use for drawing as well as canvas work and something that I could display finished work on or a place for leaving my calligraphy work to dry. People have said it’s difficult to assemble. It is actually easy, but you need to be patient and study pictures carefully on the instructions, paying attention to fine detail like screw holes on the picture. There isn’t much to assemble out of the box and it took me 45 mins taking my time. I certainly recommend as it is very versatile and solid - great it has wheels to move it around my studio. I recommend!

A Dream Come True!
Incredibly happy with this purchase. This is the first studio easel I’ve ever found that can accommodate large and small paintings. A typical easel will often hit the ceiling if you raise the cradle too high, but the ingenious design of this easel allows you to adjust the mast separately, making this an ideal for anyone who doesn’t have vaulted ceilings. Can be used as a drafting board support. I’ve replaced 2 easels and a drafting table with this single easel. Surprisingly sturdy in light of the fact that you have to assemble it yourself, but the assembly is relatively easy. Angle adjustments are intuitive with the black knobs. Multi-purposeful and takes up very little space- can be folded up and put away- will fit in most standard size closets. Cradles can be removed and flipped easily to suit your specific needs. Extremely versatile. Essential for any home studio.

Great easel with recent improvements
I don’t usually leave reviews, but I want to let others know that many of the concerns from other reviews seem to have been fully resolved with recent product design updates. Stability: every part of the easel is securely attached with screws; no more issues with nail-only connections. There are also two tension knobs on each of the sliding canvas supports, which seem to have solved the previous stability/leveling issues with larger canvases. Adjustment: It’s straightforward, and I have no complaints. Of course it’s not as easy to adjust/level as a crank or ratchet easel, but at this price point, I’m very happy with it. I will say that if you want to paint at a slight angle, you need to make sure all of the connection points are very tight, including the wing nuts on the interior elbow joints. They came installed bit loose on mine. Design: I particularly love the two canvas design because I can put a palette shelf on the lower portion, which saves room in my small studio. The footprint is also relatively compact for an H easel, especially one that can hold large canvases. Assembly: I was worried about this part based on other reviews, but honestly it was fine. I’m 5’2” and put it together myself. The instructions are very clear as long as you’re taking time to pay attention to the details. Overall, I’m very happy, and would recommend this easel to any beginner/intermediate painter who needs one.
