Does this play music??

No not musical which is what I wanted/expected. If you aren't expecting music, these are very nice and I've bought several of these traditionally for my daughter each Christmas!

Will the water in the snowg lobe eventually turn gray or will it stay crystal clear for the duration of the life of the snow globe?

As the owner of a few of this companies snow globes I’ve never had that problem. It really is a beautiful product.

How does the Cardinal “sing”? And how is it turned off?

Sorry but the Cardinal does not sing. None of the CoolSnowGlobes styles are musical. If in the future a style features music, it will be noted on the product detail page.
