A great choice for a camera with a good quality image and frame rate.
This may not be the camera for everyone. It's not 4K and it's not 60fps. However, if you're a Windows PC user, and you want a basic high-quality camera for Windows Hello and light video conferencing use, this is absolutely a fantastic choice. The camera works absolutely fantastic with good lighting. You don't need fancy ring lights to light you for the camera to work well. It offers a wide angle, maybe a bit too wide, but using the available software you can zoom that in if necessary. I haven't tested the microphones, though maybe I will do that this week to ensure they work will enough. The mics are suggested to work within 40" of users, so while this works for someone in an office setting, it may not be ideal for all settings. That said, I have two other microphone options if I need better options. The one thing to keep in mind, enabling the auto shutter is done by holding the finger on the Nexigo label on the camera for a few seconds. By default, the auto shutter is not enabled. So, it will work with Windows Hello just fine but not work with any other apps. Let me just say, as it functions with Windows Hello it is just absolutely fantastic! I rebooted my system after an update and didn't even realize it already logged me in until I went to sign-in. It just popped up for me. I tried using a fingerprint scanner, but because it's not included in the mouse or keyboard I had, it was clumsy. I had to find it, then swipe it, and depending on if it wanted to work or not, then it would let me in. It didn't always work, so I ended up getting rid of it. With the camera, it's effortless. I sit down and it scans me. The shutter barely even opens before it closes again and it's logging me in. It's awesome!

Fantastic value!
This camera had no business being this good, yet here we are. Video quality is sharp and clean for 1080p. Not “marketing 1080p,” but actually looks good on calls and recordings. The Windows Hello feature is the real star. Plug it in, Windows sees it instantly, face scan done, no drivers, no software circus, no reboot rituals. It just works, which in 2026 is apparently a luxury feature. The automatic privacy shutter is excellent. It physically closes when the camera is not in use, none of that fake software-only “trust us bro” privacy. You can see it close. You can hear it snap shut. Very reassuring in a world full of glowing laptop eyes. Microphone is perfectly fine for calls. Not podcast-grade, but clear and usable, which is the job. Facial enhancement is subtle and doesn’t turn you into a wax figure, so points for restraint. What really annoyed me is that this is every bit as good as a Logitech webcam I paid about $50 more for at work. Same usability, same practical quality, minus the brand tax. Build quality feels solid, not flimsy bargain-bin plastic. Bottom line: excellent camera, stupidly easy setup, rock-solid Windows Hello, real privacy shutter, and strong value for the money. Pleasantly surprised, mildly irritated I overpaid elsewhere. The only complaint I have is that it attached to a monitor like every other webcam, with the dumb triangle posture mount that doesn't really work well at all, but it's as well executed as any other. As far as portability, it's plug and play so you can't get much better than that. If you need it for business and windows hello, buy it, you won't regret the purchase.

Works Perfectly Right Out of the Box – Easy Setup!
I purchased the NexiGo HelloCam as an external webcam for my Windows 11 laptop and could not be happier with how it performed. Setup was extremely easy — I simply plugged it in via USB and Windows 11 recognized it instantly. No drivers to hunt down, no complicated software installation. It was literally plug-and-play. The Windows Hello facial recognition works exactly as expected and has made logging into my laptop so much faster and more convenient. The automatic electronic shutter is a great privacy feature — I love being able to physically block the camera when not in use without having to fumble with a cover. Video quality is crisp and clear at 1080P, and the built-in microphone picks up audio well for calls and video meetings. The facial enhancement feature is a nice touch too. Overall, this camera did exactly what it advertised. If you’re looking for a hassle-free external webcam for a Windows 11 machine, this is a great choice. Highly recommend!

Windows Hello ready but not perfect, good camera, wide angle lens
works well, true 1080p. wide lens, it has a shutter that opens and closes when the camera is in use. The documentation on this was a little poor, I think NexiGo could've done a heck of a bit better on that. But I use it for Windows Hello, which is no where near perfect, so if you're going to use it for that I might recommend getting a better quality camera, but I don't have really sensitive stuff on this computer, its really for convenience. I will say it could be because Windows can be a little wonky sometimes, but Windows users should be used to that. Otherwise I'd say it was yes, easy to set up (plug and play), and works good for quality video calls and meetings. It's not 4k, just 1080p which is just normal HD, but it does have the Infrared "camera" built in for the Windows Hello. So it should work, I've just noticed it sometimes just can't recognize me and I have to default to my pin to get in to the computer, which isn't too much of an inconvenience. That's it!!

Fast, Reliable Windows Hello — Works Every Time
I picked up the NexiGo HelloCam Windows Hello Webcam specifically for Windows Hello, and it’s been excellent so far. Setup was quick and straightforward, and recognition is impressively fast. Even with the “Improved Recognition” setting enabled in Windows (which is supposed to be more strict), it consistently logs me in almost instantly without needing to adjust position or lighting much. That reliability was exactly what I was looking for, especially since I often keep my laptop closed and rely on an external camera. It just works—no fiddling, no repeated attempts. One thing worth noting for less technical users: features like the built-in privacy cover are convenient, but they are not a substitute for real security. If your system is compromised or you’ve granted camera permissions to the wrong application, a physical shutter doesn’t protect you from that. It’s a nice feature, just not something to rely on as your only safeguard. Overall, if you’re looking for a dedicated Windows Hello webcam that’s responsive and dependable, this one has been a great choice.

If you need a great webcam with Windows Hello face recognition this is it
I have a couple of other NexiGo cameras. I've always been pretty satisfied with their products. The price to performance is always pretty good. This camera however is great. The picture quality is extremely good. For the price it is hard to believe they can deliver a camera this good. The Windows Hello facial recognition works perfectly too. It was plug and play. Windows found it and installed all the necessary drivers automatically. Just make sure to do a restart after the initial installation for Windows Hello to see it so that you can set it up for facial recognition unlock. The automatic camera privacy cover works really well too. I have a few Logitech cameras as well. While they are good, this one is just as good as the Logitech C925e I have but includes Windows Hello support. Overall a great well thought out product that does what it's supposed to do and does it very well.

Junk
Works great for windows hello. Works in Ubuntu 24. Can't get the 1080 setting to work properly yet in windows but works fine in Linux. There are options for 2 lower quality settings as back up. The automatic shutter is a bad feature. It's possible to accidently lock it and there is not an indicator. This will cause problems trying to log in with windows hello so I advise not messing with the shutter lock. Seems like something to break vs simple manual operation. The 2nd windows hello camera does not even have a shutter. This camera was the best choice among a lame field of contenders. Video quality is fair. My phone is better. Seems overpriced but all cameras with windows hello feature require a premium as of April 2025. UPDATE: As of 5/11 I have returned this product to Amazon. Maybe I received a defective one, but after after working 'ok' for about 10 days this thing went haywire on me. The shutter began not opening half of the time. I would open the Nexigo software and go to 'preview' and while the software reported 30FPS the screen was black. Same thing would happen with Windows Hello. I would go to set-up windows Hello and the IR camera light would be on and the software would be telling me to center my face, but the main camera shutter would be closed and the screen dark. This affected Windows Hello's accuracy and it began not working on boot. The shutter lock was verified to not be engaged. Actually, engaging the lock and then manually undoing the lock would lead to the the shutter automatically opening half of the time. Nothing but weird behavior from this thing. I reinstalled the software, switched USB ports, reconfigured Windows Hello, but no luck. There is no way to manually open the shutter as it is behind glass. I bought this thing to make my life easier. Not Harder. I was never able to get 1080P resolution to properly display in the Nexigo software on Windows either. I purchased mine at $50. At $70 this thin is a waste of money even if it works properly.

Wow, it works surprisingly well! An incredible value buy
I was a bit skeptical that the windows hello function would work or that the camera would be decent. However I was pleasantly surprised that its actually pretty awesome. It replacing a Logitech c920 camera and it does a much better job, picture wise. The white balance and color look much better, even when on conf calls where I'm next to a window. The windows hello functionality works super well. I love that I can now unlock my password manager and my desktop just by sitting in front of my computer. I plan on getting 2 more for my kids computers. One quick technical note, I had originally plugged it into a usb hub and the windows hello function refused to work properly. After plugging it in directly to my computer, everything worked perfectly, no tech support call needed. The good news is they provide a rather long usb cable so it should be able to reach most typical monitor/computer setups.

I really like this camera
I have clipped this camera to the monitor of my W11 PC and plugged it into a USB port. The Nexigo installed itself quickly & I went through the procedure to enable Hello face recognition which took about 2 minutes. No extra software installation required. When I open a video camera related piece of software the Nexigo automatically activates, during boot up of the PC the lens opens at the correct moment to enable Windows Hello to log me on with face recognition, then shuts again once done. The camera has an audible click as the lens opens and shuts and a clear visual indication, as the the lens shows red when shut, and clicks black when open. So far it's worked flawlessly, all the features work and are good quality & I'm very impressed! I purchased this when it was discounted and it's an easy 5 stars.
