This disconnect switch works great! It's easy to install (if you have worked on a car). I installed it on my Yamaha golf cart. At the press of the remote button, it disconnects the battery so no one with a key can start the cart. Good alternative to a loud alarm yet has a better function, like a cutoff switch. Also extends your battery life by isolating the battery from all accessories from draining the battery when not in use.

If I could rate no stars, I would. Installed it, less than a day later caused battery drain and voltage regulator issues in my alternator. I have had a similar issue before, thought it was the alternator. So seeing I had this issue with a brand new alternator, too, after I removed the kill switch it fixed every issue. No startup hesitation, no battery drain. This is the third one I’ve gone through in less than a year and a half. Do not recommend.

I was looking for a relay so I could make my own disconnect. I was pleasantly surprised to find one with a remote. I bought the 250 AMP feature because it was perfect for connecting to my Honda Odyssey. I tried searching down the draw on my battery but it is likely a relay the intermittently sticks. This is so easy and cheap. It would cost hundred of dollars to have a dealer track down the draw.

Yes it works fine, it took some creative thinking about installation since it needs to be next to negative pole of the battery and in most cases you could be limited of space and choice of location to install the relay. I had to twist the copper metal bridge supplied to be able to mount it in a horizontal position next to the battery. The remote control does not have a long range and since there is no beep or sound emited by the unit you need to manually verify that the relay is in the on or off position. If you get real close to the unit you will hear a faint click from the unit as it operates.

This thing was a life saver when my car had a parasite drain on it that multiple mechanics could not figure out. I slapped this bad boy on their and it fixed my issue.

Product update, less then 2 years on a truck that gets driven once a month and as people have said one of the key fobs has quit working even with new batteries. They send 2 so taking 2 stars, the fob has only been used a hand full of times I hope the second fob works longer.

I wanted to install a kill switch on my 1979 Ford F-150 without having to be super intrusive and ruining my original wiring harness. Found this and gave it a try. Install was super easy, took no more than 5 minutes, the remote fob is easy to use, and now I can take my ride anywhere without fear of someone stealing my ride as the switch kills power to the entire truck (meaning hot wiring isn't going to work). A serious must have for any classic car or truck if you want to have a kill switch without having to mess with all the wiring. 7 MONTH UPDATE: Still works great for the intended use mentioned above. However, when my truck isn't driven for an extended period it will drain the battery. So for automotive applications, if you drive it regularly and charge your battery you'll be fine.
