Wrinkle Plus, Flat Black

VHT is the only automotive paint ill use when it comes to high temp. This specific wrinkle paint works very well if used correctly on a well prepped and clean surface.

This stuff is awesome! However 2 things to consider 1. How many parts you are spraying cause this stuff doesn't seem to have a lot of paint in the can if you spray it how they recommend (which I do suggest laying it thick as the can says) 2. Def want to bake it in an oven for curing it. I baked it in the house and it def stunk it up not terrible on my opinion but you wouldn't want your kids breathing it in so make sure u can keep the windows open to air the house out. Easy to get rid of the smell. Also I found it very forgiving in laying it on thick meaning it doesn't run/drip easily from what I experienced. Def spray it thick and criss cross pattern as this will allow you to get the best texture possible. It's really sharp looking. Not sure how durable it actually is but seems fairly nice. I wouldn't go dropping it on the ground but seems legit. Color is also more of a flat blue vs shiny which I liked a lot!

This paint was easy to apply and easy to achieve the retro look I desired. The directions are specific, you must read them. It requires a couple coats with a short 5 minute "flash off" dry time between. It was easy to achieve a moderately heavy coat without sags and runs, but, if you have little experience with spray paint, its a good idea to practice before tackling your precious project. A first timer will always have trouble with runs and sags. The nozzle gave me more control than the average rattle can. I give this product a thumbs up. The directions don't really cover oven curing for metal parts. I have plenty of on the job finishing experience so I used our oven to speed up the wrinkling and curing process. Open windows fans help with the paint smell, there will be some paint odor needless to say. After the freshly applied paint coat has air dried (minimum of 30 minutes), This allows the paint solvents to off-gas safely. Its ok for the paint to begin to wrinkle. Then I bake it in the oven at 150 degrees F. for approximately 45 minutes. Since it is a kitchen oven with little venting, I open the oven door briefly every 10 minutes to let remaining gasses escape. Turn the oven off to cool, do not remove the part while still hot. At this point the painted part is cured and durable enough for handling and assembly. Without oven curing you should give the finished part 24 hours before handling. Most plastic parts can't tolerate heat without warping etc.

I would use primer first if you are prepping a painted metal valve cover and have areas with exposed metal and sanded paint on the same surface. I prep perfectly, meticulously, and proudly; as lame as that sounds. I put hours into my dremel tool, hand sanding, block sanding, taping, hobby knifing taped areas to that uniform round we are after. That prep is great with a gloss engine enamel, but the wrinkle doesn’t show uniform on exposed metal as it does on prepped painted metal. That said, it still turned out great to the untrained eye, and by the time I unmask, add my black billet coil cover, oil cap, and dip stick, and finish it off with an exposed Honda logo polished just right, it will be a solid 3 footer that I will still be proud of. The paint is bright red, in person a bit darker than the photos show, but just a tad brighter red than Hondas oem red valve covers. I personally chose to bake after 30 minutes of flashing at 200 degrees for 2 hours. I will then let it set for 2 days before handling.

Good product work very well

IF your looking for a Wrinkle finish, you won't go wrong here. This product is made for high heat areas on the engine but I found it very useful for something else. I rebuild / restore old ham radios. Many of them came out new with a similar Wrinkle finish. With a bit of practice I was able to match those finishs perfectly with this product. There is a secret to success however. Set the metal part in the sun for a period of time ( on a nice hot day ) After applying this paint with even strokes / patterns across a flat surface, use a heat gun to speed up the drying process. Work the heat gun back and forth without stopping in one spot to spread the heat evenly. After a couple minutes, you will see the paint wrinkle up starting in the center of the heated area. Work the heat gun and chase the wrinkle finish out to each edge until the area is completely covered. This stuff works great. It drys to a hard finish and looks awesome. Set it aside in a clean dry place and let it dry completely and you will be very happy with the finish. I will continue to buy this product. It works better than the other brands for my purpose.

エンジンルームの樹脂製カバーを結晶塗装にしたくなり、某YouTubeで紹介されていたこちらを購入！ 結果的にしっかりと縮み塗装が出来て大満足です！ 結晶塗装特有の縮み感をしっかり出すには、塗装後に即ドライヤーかヒートガンで熱を入れてあげることが大切です！ 夏であれば塗装後に放置して乾燥させるだけで縮むかと思いますが、熱を入れた方が間違いありません。 出来ればドライヤーよりも高温になるヒートガンがおすすめ。 2層目までは薄めに塗り、3〜5層目は少し厚めに塗りました。 都度熱を加えて縮ませながら乾燥しました。 一般的な塗装と違い、熱を入れるという一手間は必要ですが、他にはない結晶塗装がドライヤーだけで出来るというのはとても素晴らしい製品だと思います！ 完全乾燥後は硬さも出てとても綺麗な仕上がりです！

簡単にチヂミ塗装が出来ます。焼かなくて良いのでこれ一択

スプレーして放置しておけば縮みます。 ストーブもヒートガンもいらないので 金属以外にも使用できます。

とにかく簡単に結晶塗装が綺麗にできます。アルミ製のトップブリッジを塗りました。寒い2月でしたが、60度位の湯煎で缶を温めて、脱脂後にミッチャクロンで下地処理、10分置きに3回厚めに塗りました。約24時間程の自然乾燥で触れる位まで乾きますが、塗料が溜まりやすい窪み等はブヨブヨしてます。日当たりの良い場所やストーブの前に放置して毎日確認してましたが完全に硬くなるまで1週間程掛かりました。仕上がりは皺がしっかり入って多少ムラがありますが大満足の質感です。硬化後に強く爪で引っ掻いたりしましたが傷も付かずガチガチです。 その後、メッキのスロットルホルダーも同じ手順と下地処理で、今回は小物なので厚塗り2回で塗りましたが、こちらはさり気ない皺感が良い感じで高級感のある質感になりました。皺感をしっかり出したい大きな物は厚めの3回塗り、小物でさり気ない皺感をねらいたい場合は2回塗りが良いかと思います。完全乾燥にはしっかり時間を取る事をオススメします。

DOHCエンジンの結晶塗装は憧れですが、剥がれ易く再塗装をプロに頼むと高額になるので悩みの種でした。以前の塗料は乾燥時にヒートガン等で熱しないと結晶がうまく出ませんでしたが、本品は夏場でしたら自然乾燥でも大丈夫でした。
