Good portable storage solution.
The SSK 250GB Portable External NVMe SSD is a compact, high-performance storage solution that offers excellent speed and portability – it is lightweight and compact. File transfers are incredibly quick, which is ideal for large files like videos or photo libraries. The Type-C interface works seamlessly with a variety of devices, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, and even some gaming consoles. The SSD is built with a solid metal casing that not only looks good and very compact but also provides some protection against drops and scratches, which is a huge plus for portable use. The SSK 250GB Portable NVMe SSD is an excellent choice for those who prioritise speed and portability in an external drive. Its ultra-fast data transfer speeds and compatibility with Type-C devices make it ideal for users who need reliable, on-the-go storage. It is a solid, affordable option for quick data transfers and daily backup needs.

Small, neat, good build quality and reasonable price.
This is a very neat and fast storage solution. I bought my second one to store quite a lot of music files for a laptop I repurposed with Linux Mint, mainly for entertainment. The first one I use for RAW files from my DSLR. File reading and writing is quite speedy for the price point and I have over 11,000 music files stored on it, which works rapidly and seamlessly with the Linux music players. It doesn't get noticeably warm, even when working hard. Ideal for local storage of substantial amounts of music, photos or video. Would also be ideal for a vast number of documents or as a backup for working with music or video. No negatives as far as I can see. For very long periods of storage (several years) a conventional hard drive might be safer, but for the price, you could just replace it every few years. Neat, small and very easy to carry in a pocket, or on a keyring. It has a silicon loop built in for this purpose. Highly recommended.

Amazing external drive
This is everything I want in an external hard drive. It worked as soon as I plugged it into my Mac Book Pro and was perfectly compatible with Apple (I don’t have a PC, so I can’t speak to its comparability, but it seems like it would also work fine with a non-Apple computer). I love that it uses a USB-C connection and that the cord can be replaced with any other USB-C cord. It’s tiny! So portable. Gone are the days of giant, heavy drives! It has enormous storage capacity and works a treat. It’s also completely silent and so far has been perfect for backing up my files. Plug and play, super easy to use. If you want a small external drive for a good price, I would highly recommend this one.

Budget Portable SSD
I’ve been using the SSK 500GB Portable External NVMe SSD for a while, and overall, it’s a solid option for the price. It’s small, lightweight, and delivers good speeds for everyday use. While it’s not as fast as the SanDisk Extreme Pro, it still gets the job done for general storage and file transfers. The SSK SSD offers decent read and write speeds, usually hovering around 900 MB/s in my tests. The SanDisk Extreme Pro is noticeably faster, often hitting around 2,000 MB/s with the right setup, so if you need top-tier speed for heavy workloads, SanDisk has the edge. But for regular use—moving photos, videos, and backups—the SSK performs well. It has a clean, metal design that feels sturdy but isn’t quite as rugged as the SanDisk, which is more shock-resistant and water-resistant. If you’re constantly on the go and need extra durability, SanDisk might be the better pick. Both drives work great with Windows, macOS, and gaming consoles. The SSK is plug-and-play, which is nice, but SanDisk offers better long-term firmware support, which could matter down the line. Overall if you’re looking for a budget-friendly external NVMe SSD, the SSK 500GB is a great choice. It’s not the fastest out there, but for everyday storage, it works well. If you need faster speeds and extra durability, the SanDisk Extreme Pro is worth considering. But for the price, the SSK is a pretty good deal.

TERRIBLE DRIVES FOR PROFESSIONAL WORK
TERRIBLE DRIVES FOR PROFESSIONAL WORK Quite simply, they start nice and fast and then over the weeks, they have progressively got slower to the point they no longer even load up properly. I have only had them for 6 months and two have failed on me in the same way. Far too unreliable for important files that you need, or transfers that are actually done at a manageable speed. Don't recommend to anyone. Pay a bit more and go for Sandisk or Samsunyg T7 Drives.

Tiny but mighty!
I bought this 250GB SSD during a Black Friday deal, and it has been absolutely fantastic. The speed is exactly as advertised around 1000 MB/S and it’s incredibly quick in real use. I was able to transfer 60GB of videos and photos in under a minute, which was amazing to see. The build quality is great, it arrived in perfect condition, and the overall value for money is excellent. I’m really pleased with this SSD and would definitely recommend it. Does get hot

Great fast external SSD
My SSK external SSD is super fast compared to my old USB 3.0 external flash drive. At no stage did the item get hot when transferring large video files across from my S26 Ultra and then across to my PC. I found that formatting the SSK drive as exFAT was the best format to ensure good communication between my phone and PC.
