Ronseal DC Decking Cleaner 5 Litre

Excellent product for cleaning and restoring outdoor decking - does what it says on the tin.Need to use watering can for application to decking to maximise the spread on area being cleaned.5 litre tin would cover 20sq metres but not much more.On badly stained areas of decking you would need two applications for best results so 1 can would not be enough.

My deck had been treated with a wood preserver/oil that had weathered off and so the deck started to go green and had a dirty/black appearance.Sanding the step first of all didn’t remove the green but did the black. It then occurred to me to look for a biocide that could do the work for me.I have included a before photo, during and one after two treatments and three coats of decking preserver.I applied as per the instructions and used a stiff brush to work it in. After one treatment the gunge really started to lift (please see photo), however it is hard to say how much of the work was done by the jet wash, so my advice would be to try cleaning with that first, as although I’m very pleased with the final result (shown in photo with two coats of decking preserver reapplied), this solution didn’t get rid of the green parts of the wood as much as I’d have liked (but it does dry lighter so doesn’t look too bad).Conclusion - for the price, worth a shot, but maybe try giving your deck a jet wash first to see if that is sufficient.Update: I’ve noticed the greener parts of the wood have almost gone so wonder if this product continued to work in the days and weeks after use? Fundamentally, after taking the steps I took to restore this deck, I am pleased with the end result.

I bought this to scrub dirty teak furniture before treating with preservative and it cleaned up reasonably well.

This really helped me, I’m sure I could have done a fairly good job lifting the dirt just by pressure washing but this really did soften it up making it a lot easier. I still needed to be pretty close to the deck to lift the dirt with the pressure washer but the results I’m happy with. I needed 2 lots to do this 22m2 deck. Final picture is just before I stained it.

This product did exactly as it is advertised: It stripped away all the slimy ingrained layer on our decking, during a cold afternoon, and cleaned up the surface ready for me to apply wood treatment.Even when making it stretch further by adding it to a bucket of hot water, the resulting diluted solution easily removed dirt, mould and slime - leaving it for 15 minutes saw it just cut into the offending coatings.Due to it's price and the stated coverage when used undiluted, I would not be so keen on buying this, but, as it worked so well despite being diluted, this will be the product I use in future years should the problem re-appear.

I was really pleased with this product - I thought I would need a pressure washer for a good job to be done, but a hose worked fine. My decking was completely hazardous, but in tandem with a stiff brush, this cleaned off all the green algae beautifully - the photo shows my decking mid-clean and you can clearly see the difference!

ho preso questo prodotto perche speravo di risolvere un annoso problema della pulizia del pavimento esterno prima di dare il trattamento protettivo (legno ingrigito), ho seguito le indicazioni, spruzzato, strofinato con spazzolone, lasciato agire 20 minuti, risciacquo con idropulitrice e niente... il legno grigio come prima! allora lo spruzzo di nuovo e lo lascio agire per un giorno sperando che sciogliesse lo sporco togliendo la patina grigia ma nulla! inoltre fa un sacco di schiuma quindi ho dovuto passare 4-5 volte l'idropulitrice per eliminarla ed ancora se ci spruzzo esce schiuma bianca! per pulirlo devo quindi fare come sempre ovvero passare il getto vicino in modo da rimuovere il grigio e poi levigare perche si aprono i pori ed infine dare il protettivo.prodotto inutile!
