Sulphur Convenient Candles

At first I thought this smoke candle would be too small for my greenhouse but I was wrong. It was easy to use and worked really well. It burns for a long time, producing plenty of smoke. Day after there was a slight smell but gone within another day or two. Worth the money.

Got it burning only after a 2nd attempt using a blowtorch to light it. Using a long flame gas lighter didn’t get the wick burning properly and only gave off wisps of smoke before going out. Tried again the following day with a small blowtorch and it worked. Greenhouse fogged up properly on the 2nd attempt and did the job.

This worked a treat. I had a bit of scepticism when I read the negative reviews, but I found it easy to light and it blasted the whole greenhouse of bugs and nasties. Great for end of year product to use before winter sets in. Stinks a bit though.

I was a little cautious given other reviewer's comments that they had problems getting the candle to light. I had no such problems. The tin is filled with sulphur granules. The paper wick lit easily and burned for hours, filling the greenhouse with white smoke. I bought the candle as I had mould on tomatoes last year. It's too early to know if the sulphur killed the spores effectively. Time will tell. Assuming I don't have problems this year, I'll be buying another of these in the autumn.

Expensive as it takes 4 to cover my greenhouse. However they are very effective and leave the area clean before starting seeds away. I use these every year as part of my pre planting set up.

Tried twice to light this, followed instructions. Used a small piece of firelighter the second time as recommended by another user - burned for 5 mins maybe and that was it. I still have a tin full of sulphur powder & a greenhouse full of last year's tomato blight spores....!! Waste fo £10.

I had trouble finding a sulphur candle locally. Where I have bought them before had non so I decided to order this one. The tin is a little smaller than the one I bought before but I have used it today and it lit first time. I have had problems before and have had to try several times to get it going. I returned to look how it was doing about quarter of an hour later and had a greenhouse full of smoke. Brilliant.

Die Beschreibung ist leider nur in englisch, aber dank Google soweit alles verstanden. Es gequalmt die ganze Nacht, es hat gestunken die ganze Nacht - die paar Altpflanzen, welche ich zu Testzwecken im Gewächshaus gelassen habe, waren am nächsten morgen nicht mehr wieder zuerkennen. Insofern ist zu hoffen, dass es seinen Dienst verrichtet hat. Das Ergebnis sehe ich in den nächsten Wochen und Monaten.

Leider keine deutsche Gebrauchsanweisung, nur englisch. Nach Anbrennen des beiliegenden Papiers in der Dose ver-brannte das Pulver bis zum letzten Korn. Qualmentwicklung sehr gut.
