Works well on low pressure ('gravity feed') - not all handsets do!
Our shower is gravity fed - not a power shower, so needs a spray-head that will work on low pressure. Some months back I bought a similar looking shower handset on Amazon which also had adjustable spray patterns, and though it is of good quality, none of the patterns were really satisfactory on gravity feed in that the water tended to 'dribble out rather than to come out in a forceful spray. Hence, though there was no mention at the time that that handset wasn't suitable for low pressure (gravity feed), I concluded that it was probably intended for use only on a power shower. To confirm that suspicion I connected that handset to the cold water mains pressure and it worked fine, with a forceful spray pattern on all settings. I therefore decided to try this one by 'Synergy' given that it was reasonably priced, and we are very pleased with it. Good forceful spray patterns on gravity feed, so we've 'pensioned off' the first handset. We'd be happy to recommend this one to anyone who needs a gravity feed one, (and no doubt it will also work well on a a power shower too). Pleased to find this one, given that almost all bathroom fittings are chrome these days, so the choice of gold coloured ones is very limited.

Very good shower head for low pressure gravity fed tanks.
As mentioned by a previous reviewer this helps with low pressure gravity fed tanks. You really need to use it with a large bore (11mm +) hose to get the best results. (These large bore hoses are available on Amazon and are reasonably priced. Use 2 large bore washers either side if the connector proves a little deep). The only reason I gave it four stars is that its a bit on the chunky side so the balance is not so good and I kept dropping it. Apart from that it was a great improvement over my previous shower head.

MX Synergy shower handset
Liked the reviews on this handset so I seriously considered buying it. Decided to buy a cheaper shower handset thinking I'd save money but it was useless - cheap and nasty. Only get what you pay for. Back to MX Synergy. As I said, liked the reviews and made the purchase. So pleased I did. The quality of this shower handset was there to be seen when unpacking it. Solid construction. Attached easy and the shower head changed positions with little effort (unlike the cheap and nasty). Love the wipe clean feature so no worries with limescale clogging the holes (the cause of failure in my first shower handset that led me to purchasing a new one - or two). Been using it regular and still very happy with it. Far superior to cheap brands in the budget shops. Totally satisfied and not expensive really.

Finally, a shower head that works
After trying a few different shower heads that promised the world but delivered nothing, this one is the only one that actually delivers. Most importantly, it gives a strong even flow of water even on a mains fed shower that doesn't have high pressure. It is well made, for the money paid. The spray settings are logical and work properly. It looks like it will be easy to clean. The only negative is that the spray selector is stiff, but seeing that I will hardly ever need to move it, it's a non-issue for me. Will definitely buy this again.

It all started well...
I'm sorry to be a loan dissenting voice in the midst of such glowing reviews but I decided to wait a while before writing my review. Had I written it in the days after I first received and fitted the shower head (to a Triton hose), I would have said that it is a great buy at under £10 and that it has a great range of 5 shower options including a higher pressure one ideal for cleaning the bath or rinsing shampoo. It was easy to fit and I was generally pleased although I did find it extremely stiff to turn the head to the different settings (thought it would loosen up but it has got worse!) and I could've done with the head being a little wider. However my main problem is that now, six months after purchase, not only is it so stiff that I cannot change settings, the 'rub over' water holes are either blocked or completely temperamental. Worst of all the seal has gone, which was discovered when we removed the head to descale it in the hope of unblocking the holes (didn't make any difference!) and if you can turn it to different settings, there are none as they've worn away. I wish now that I'd just purchased a Triton or Mira shower head! This does come with a one year manufacturers guarantee but I'm not sure what that means or covers. Overall it was decent for a few months but has not lasted at all well...

Much better than the Mira Head I had before
I got this to replace my Mira shower head as that was showing signs of wear and tear. Being in a hard water area I have found shower heads only seem to last about 18-24 months before I get problems with the holes blocking up and flow being reduced. In the past I have always just bought a new Mira head but these are over twice the price (offering 3 modes to the 6 this one offers) but decided to give this a try. If it lasts a year then I will be better off given the price. In use you have 6 modes with the mode selector being quite tight. This may be a problem for those who struggle to open jars for instance. Also the minor grip I have is with this selector - the click you get when selecting one of the modes is weak and easy to go past. This results in some water getting through to sections that should be blocked off. All of the 6 modes I found the power to be much stronger than I used to get. To me it suggests the holes may be finer so I hope they don't block too easily. I do wish there was a more 'pulsating' style mode though to give a shower massage effect - just an idea and I haven't marked the unit down because of this. In conclusion I like this head better than the Mira heads I used to buy. Given its price I don't think you can go wrong. I just wish the selector was more positive.
