DMT D8X 8-Inch Dia-Sharp Continuous Diamond Extra-Coarse , Grey

Good solid diamond stone that took a lot of abuse flattening sets of Narex chisels and new plane blades properly so I could keep them sharp on finer stones. Cuts nice and fast and keeps doing it, also great for flattening out your finer grit water stones with.

This is great. I got this mainly to flatten my Japanese water stones (double sided rough and medium, plus a 12000 grit honing stone) and it's great for that. I've also used to to dress some plane bodies and it still works great on the stones. Should have bought it years ago as the hassle of using glass and paper have meant I've mostly made do with hollowed stones...

used the 8000 grit extra extra fine a good few times and no problems so far,reports of some failing after little use seem to point to hit and miss quality,puts a nice polish on the edge of knives

Good price for DMT extra coarse. If you want to stop using a grinder, this is the diamond plate to buy, provided you also have coarse, fine and super fine plates. Or if you only use carbon & A2 steel blades and want an extra coarse to cut bevels, using oil stone and strop for the rest.

I bought the extra course plate as I restore a lot of abused tools. I put a primary bevel on 2 plane irons using light pressure and water to float off the swarf. When I had finished the centre of the plate was worn down to the metal. I get several weeks of use from a cheap plate. I got 10 minutes from this one.

Liked the thickness of the plate; good for flatening of stones.

DMT sind die Schleifwerkzeuge die ich habe. Sie schleifen sehr effektiv und ganz genau wie man die Messer haben möchte. Bei diesem groben Schleifmittel ist ein großer Abtrag in kürzester Zeit möglich. Um defekte Klingel auf zu arbeiten genau das richtige. Einfach nur Klasse

Taşları düzeltme konusunda ilk başta hızlı fakat şert seramik taşları düzeltirken çabuk keskinliğini kaybetti. Tavsiyem 120 grid versiyonu alın yada kullandığınız yumuşak bağlastirici seramik taşlarda kullanın. Ayrıca kesinlik reçine bağlastiriciniz elmas taşlari varsa bu bu elmas plaka ile düzeltmeye kalkmayın elmas plakaniz cöp olur ha Bileme kısmina gelirsek : çok agresif fakat iyi bir seramik taş kadar uzun ömürlü olacağını düşünmüyorum.

works well

This is fantastic and removes metal aggressively. It works well when I need to set the bevel or lap the back of my tools. This saves me time and effort compared to sharpening on my previous water stone.
