What is the ‘best use by date’ please of these patches ?

I'm sure that these patches are manufactured in batches. I always go by the expiry date on every box of Salonpas patches that I buy. For example, the patches that I now have expire at '09/2024'. This allows me to use them until the end of September in 2 years time. But in practice, they get used much earlier! This box will be used in the next few weeks.

What is the difference between gel patch and pain relief patch. gel is cold and pain is hot? is it for different treatment or stage of injury?
