Amazon Basics 8-Pack C Cell All-Purpose Alkaline Batteries, 1.5 Volt, 5-Year Shelf Life

I bought this 12-pack of Amazon Basics C-Cell Alkaline batteries so that I could test various donated electronic equipment for a friend who works at a charity shop. These have been absolutely brilliant. They do the job perfectly with no issues whatsoever! 👍 Pros: Excellent Value: At roughly £0.78 per battery (for the 12-pack), these punch well above their weight. Looking at other helpful reviews, the consensus is right: they perform very similarly to premium brands (like Duracell or Energizer) but at a fraction of the cost. Ease of Use: They are extremely straightforward. The positive and negative ends are clearly marked, making them easy to slot into whatever vintage radio or toy we are testing that day. Reliability: They deliver a consistent 1.5 volts, which is exactly what I need to verify if an item is fully functional. Shelf Life: They advertise a 5-year shelf life. While I'll likely use them up before then, it's nice to know they won't degrade in the cupboard. Cons: None that I’ve experienced for my use case. If you need them for incredibly high-drain devices used continuously for days on end, you might go through them a bit faster than top-tier lithiums, but for general-purpose use, they are flawless. Addressing common buyer questions: Are they exactly standard size and weight? Yes. They are your standard C-cell size, fitting perfectly snug into all the battery compartments I've tested them in without getting stuck or being too loose. The weight is exactly what you'd expect from a solid alkaline battery. What do they look like? They feature the standard, minimalist Amazon Basics colour scheme—mostly grey and black with a touch of orange. They are easy to spot in a drawer. Have there been any leaking issues? None at all. I haven't noticed any corrosion or leakage, even in the items we left them in for a few days. Final Verdict: If you need a reliable, cost-effective stockpile of C-cell batteries for household items, toys, or—like me—testing electronics, look no further. I highly recommend them and will definitely be ordering more for the shop when this box runs out!

Good quality batteries at a reasonable price. I used these for several months before they eventually needed replacing, so I’ve been perfectly happy with how long they lasted. They performed reliably throughout and the 12-pack is handy to have in the cupboard for replacements when needed. Nothing particularly exciting to say about batteries, which is probably a good thing. Put them in, they work, eventually they run out. Exactly what they’re supposed to do. Good value and I’d happily buy them again.

Reliable everyday batteries These batteries worked immediately and have provided dependable power for household devices. The eight-pack is convenient and offers better value than many branded alternatives. They may not last quite as long in particularly demanding equipment, but for toys, torches and other everyday items they are a reliable and reasonably priced choice.

I bought the Amazon Basics 8-pack of C cell alkaline batteries for £3.81. They do the job fine for everyday things like torches and toys. Nothing fancy, but they seem reliable so far and haven’t leaked or failed early. They’re not rechargeable, so you just replace them when they run out, which is fine for me. The 5-year shelf life is useful for keeping a spare set in the drawer. For the price, especially with Prime delivery and easy returns, they’re decent value and practical to have around.
