SMALLRIG Action 4 Action 5 Pro Camera Cage for DJI, Protective Frame for DJI Osmo Action 3/4 / 5 Pro, with Cold Shoe and 1/4"-20 Threaded Holes, Aluminum Alloy - 4119C

I researched cages for the DJI Osmo Action 4 quite a bit and having thought quite early on that this one was the best, I was eventually completely convinced by the reviews I'd read and watched. Firstly, it fits the camera very well. It's snug but easy to fit and fills you with confidence that it's going to look after the camera you've spent all your hard earned pennies on. Secondly, it's solid. So solid that I have complete confidence that should my camera be dropped any reasonable distance and not be unlucky enough for the screen or lens to land directly on a jagged rock, that the case would do it's job impeccably and it would just bounce straight off, keeping the camera safe and sound. A lot of thought has gone into it's design. The button cut outs are perfect so that you have unobscured access to both the power button on the side and the record button on the top. The cage opens on the side for easy access to the battery and memory card door and on the other side the usb charging port can be easily accessed and the door removed if needed. The 1/4" threads on the bottom, top and side give even more versatile mounting options to the osmo action 4 (or 3) along with the ability to use the usual magnetic mount in either vertical or horizontal orientation. The cold shoe mount, unlike in some other cages, allows the attachment of most mic receivers or lights without obscuring the record button which is a massive oversight with other cages. It does add a little bit of weight to your camera so bear that in mind but if you're like me, you don't mind that weight to give that extra protection to your camera. Except for the plastic cage that comes with the camera that in my opinion offers very little protection for a considerable impact, any metal cage is going to add similar weight. One thing to note is that I originally bought one of these from Amazon and the magnetic mount did not line up correctly so was not attaching properly and coming unattached easily. I returned it bit by then, the offer that had been on it previously had finished. I therefore found an offer to purchase directly from SmallRig and the replacement fit and worked perfectly. I have no doubt that I have bought the best cage with regards to quality, versatility and value.

This cage is incredibly strong and I imagine could offer some pretty robust protection against drops too. It’s all metal, which adds a little bit of extra weight. However, I quite like the extra weight as it all feels more solid and secure. Smallrig have really thought this design out carefully. You can still access the doors on either side to add / remove SD cards or batteries or plugin USBC with the case on. Before getting this camera I had a GoPro hero 8 and hated that I had to constantly be removing the cage to do anything like switching batteries, sd cards etc. that cage was also make of a fairly flimsy plastic that eventually broke. You need gear not with this cage breaking as it’s extremely strong. Not only does it provide strength, extra weight and a bit of piece of mind but it also has 1/4 threads - one on the top and one on the bottom. This makes it easier to attach to conventional tripods via this thread. The DJI magnetic clip attachments are great, but sometimes it’s nice to have this on a proper tripod where it feels more safe and secure. There is also a 1/4 thread on the side of the cage which would be perfect for use with verticle shooting for social media etc. There is a metal button on the top left of the cage that you simply press to unlock the metal door at the side that leads to the door on the camera for the SD card / battery compartment. Small rig have also implemented the ability to use the magnetic clip attachments on both the base and the side for verticle / horizontal shooting. This means you can use the DJI magnetic clips or 1/4 threads depending on your application. Initially I felt the price was very high for something like this, but having used it now I can see that the product is huge quality, robust and gives extreme freedom for mounting / unmounting. I also like the addition of the cold shoe mount at the top of the cage. This would be really useful for a number of things. I’ve used it with various mics / recorders so far. Something to be aware of is that longer mics / recorders will need placing in the cold shoe mount and elevating in some capacity though - otherwise you will end up with the mic in your footage. Some sort of cold shoe to 1/4 thread adapter has worked perfectly for me.

Not normally one to leave reviews, But this cage for the DJI action is awesome, the build feels solid, the design is way better than the one supplied with the camera, it’s deigned by someone who has thought about ease of use, all the buttons are easy to get to and you can change the battery without removing the cage (unlike with the DJI cage) it’s very well designed and engineered, it fits the camera perfectly and the magnetic attach points are easy to attach or remove, this is the cage the camera should have come with

Purchased after You Tube recommendations and found a substantial cage for this action camera giving great protection in case of drops and bangs. Its simple to open and close with the camera slotted in at the back through a lockable door. There is a locked side opening hatch access to the battery enclosure, although the plunger doesn't "click" when closing but there is hardly any concern it would fly open unexpectedly. The cut out to the opposite side allows for the radio receiver to utilise the usb connection snuggly - but this would be a future purchase. Along with the usual bottom and side magnetic clip connections there are 3 x 1/4 - 20 screw connections to bottom side and top making further useful options for mounting and accessories along with a top cold shoe mount. All in all this is great accessory which widens the scope of use. Well recommended

It's an excellent cage for the Action 3 and way more versatile than the stock plastic cage. That comes with a price though, it adds noticable weight in use. Think about how you use you A3 before buying, I for instance mount the camera on my mtb helmet and its simply too heavy in the small rig. If weight isn't a concern, it's a very good product.

Got my dji action 3 camera, then this to give some protection if it falls, it is great, it fits snugly around the camera affording some protection at the edges, no problems accesing the battery or controls, good purchase.

There are many protective cases out there for your beloved DJI Action Pro 5 (earlier action pros also), wading through the countless ones offered could if you let it become a chore, but here is where I suggest you stop, ignore the rest and cast your eyes and videos (if you search on other mediums) on this little beauty. The usual finesse and build quality of Smallrig products oozes through, this case is all of that, it’s highly functional, very well built, looks smart, feels quality. and when it’s on your camera you just know you are in good hands, the peace of mind this protective little beast offers is second to none, it’s also pleasing on the eye, I’d go so much as to say it enhances your already beautiful Action 5 Pro, they are an excellent match, The clips are strong, the build quality is excellent, in my opinion if you buy anything else you're wasting your money, stop dithering, this is the one for you. My next purchase when I can afford it will be the Suction Cup Mount with Ball Head Magic Arm 4236B. I have seen one of these in action, it’s a leap of faith when you trust your Action Pro to an add on device, never more so that a suction mount, but from what I’ve personally observed along with the countless videos on it…well there is no leap required, again looks linke Smallrigs quality shines through. I’ll be back to review it when i eventually pick one up. Why did you choose this product over others?: I spent a good amount of time studying all the various cases out there, I should have not bothered but instead kept my faith in SmallRig as now that I have it, it was a simply no brainer .

This is made well and will protect your Osmo Action, easy to fit and I personaly keep it fitted all the time. Easy access to the battery and SD card. Able to fit other attachment if required. Not so good when fitting the DJI mic but this is not such a big issue as it can be fitted with the receiver facing away from you. Its good quality and made well if a little expensive, however worth the protection value. The DJI bracket attachments fit well and hold without issue. Overall a good product that will protect your action 3 and the best cage.

Otrzymałem tę klatkę dzisiaj. Pierwsze wrażenie może być mylące, ponieważ pozornie klatka SmallRig jest taka sam jak ta dołączona do Osmo 3 przez DJI. To jednak tylko pozorne wrażenie, bo mimo, iż niczego klatce DJI zarzucić nie można, to jednak klatka SmallRig jest zdecydowanie bardziej funkcjonalna. Ważne jest to, że wszystkie akcesoria dołączone przez DJI są kompatybilne z klatką SmallRig. Do wszystkich elementów kamerki Osmo 3 jest łatwy dostęp. Przy montażu klatki SmallRig warto zdjąć gumową osłonę obiektywu kamery i założyć ja po montażu klatki. Jak widać na zdjęciach do klatki dołączyłem oryginalny uchwyt magnetyczny DJI. Współpracują z sobą prawidłowo. Klatka SmallRig daje możliwość zamontowania dodatkowych akcesoriów przez wkręcenie w gwintowane otwory lub wsunięcie do tzw. zimnej stopki. To nie jest pomyłka: Mam dwie klatki dla dwóch kamer DJI Active Osmo 3 i Osmo 4

Ürün ölçüleri uyumlu. Ağırlığı ideal, koruma görevini yerine getiriyor. Batarya değişimi pratik. Mikrofon bağlantı yeri dji ürünleri ile uyumlu. Kafesi kapatınca çok hafif bir boşluğu kalıyor. Oder mein Kanal auf YouTube - Konstantin Lempe Die Verpackung, in der sich der Käfig befindet, finde ich schon sehr ansprechend und die Vorfreude geht da schon in die Höhe. Die Ernüchterung kommt dann beim Aufmachen. Außer dem Käfig, der da trostlos drinnen liegt, ist nichts dabei. Keine Aufkleber, Manual. Nichts…Und ich bin ja ein Fan der ganzen Aufkleber Generell, sieht bisschen verloren, sieht leer aus der kleine Käfig in dieser Box…Wenn man aber den Käfig aus der Folie wickelt, merkt man gleich das man Top Qualität in der Hand hat. Es fühlt sich sehr wertig und qualitativ an. SmallRig produziert kein billiges qualitätsminderes Equipment mehr, diese Zeiten sind schon lange vorbei, die haben sehr gut aufgeholt die letzten Jahre und Mittlerweile stehen die auch für absolute Top Qualität… Der Kamerakäfig ist sehr gut verarbeitet es gibt keine Scharfen Kanten daran, es ist alles schön und sauber leicht abgerundet. Das ganze Teil ist aus einer Alulegierung und die Farbe ist beinahe wie die der Osmo Action 3. Die Maße stimmen exakt überein mit der Osmo, wenn man die Kamera einsetzt, wackelt nichts und es sitzt alles perfekt passgenau. Ich empfinde diesen Käfig aber als sehr Globig und groß, was allerdings kein Minus darstellen soll. Er macht halt allgemein das Kamera Setup etwas größer dann und auch ein bisschen Schwerer. Wie bei dem Käfig zur Osmo Action 1 bleibt sich Smallrig Treu, und die Kamera wird wieder von hinten Eingesetzt, nicht von der Seite, wie es ja beim Original Käfig von DJI ist. Ich gebe zu das Ich es erst von der Seite versucht habe, aus reiner Angewohnheit mittlerweile, die Kamera einzusetzen…Es ist oben ein Verschluss in schönem Rot den man zur Seite ziehen muss das sich das Fach öffnet. Es geht bisschen schwer aufzumachen der Verschluss, was aber eigentlich von Vorteil ist bei einer ACTION Kamera. Von allein geht der mit Sicherheit nicht auf. Beim Schließen muss man den Deckel sehr fest an den Käfig dran Drücken das der Verschluss Hörbar einrastet und verschließt. Wenn man die Kamera oft Rein und rausholt habe Ich bisschen sorge das sich die Halterung, der Hacken am Deckel Abnutzen könnte und mit der Zeit sich eventl leicht abrundet und dann weiß ich nicht wie gut der Verschluss dann weiterhin hält. Diese Konstruktion ist mir Ehrlich gesagt bisschen suspekt. Der Käfig für die Osmo Action 1 wurde hinten Links und Rechts am Deckel mit einer kleinen Schraube Verschlossen, was ich Persönlicher besser und bei weitem sicherer Fande. Das hätten die so Ruhig Behalten sollen, das verstehe ich nicht wirklich wieso die das so gelöst haben.… Es sieht auch aus als könnte der Hacken auch schnell Brechen, wenn der Käfig mal Runterfällt zB.…Es ist zumindest meine Empfindung so, kann mich auch Täuschen… Leider, beim Einsetzen der Kamera in den Käfig muss der Gummiring der Osmo, den am Objektiv, Abgemacht werden, sie passt nur ohne den Ring in den Käfig, nach dem Einsetzen kann man ihn wieder Dranmachen ...***Diesen Millimeter, na ja. hätte sie ruhig noch Rausfräsen können. Man kommt an alle Fächer und Knöpfe der Osmo ohne Probleme. Den Ein und Auschalter, oder den USB-C Eingang, alles kann man öffnen und Drücken, ohne dass der Käfig dabei störend wäre. Auch an den Akku mit dem Speicherkarten Slot wurde gedacht. Auch da kann man beides Wechseln, ohne die Kamera aus dem Käfig nehmen zu müssen. Als Verschluss an diesem Akku Fach ist eine kleine Niete, die man Reindrücken muss, das sich das Fach für einen Akkuwechsel öffnet. Es Springt nicht auf, es entriegelt nur, dann muss man es Aufziehen. In diesen Deckel ist auch eine ¼ Schraubengewinde Reingefräst, wie auch oben am Käfig. Wer die Kamera für TIKTOK oder SHORTs benutzen will, hat die Möglichkeit auch mit diesem Käfig hochkant Aufnahmen zu machen. Auch Hochkant passt die Original Halterung der Osmo. Leider wackelt es ein bisschen, wenn man die Kamera Hochkant einspannt, Wenn man sie quer hat, wackelt aber nichts. Es ist fast nicht merkbar, eigentlich nicht mal der Rede Wert oder Wesentlich, ich sage es nur der Vollständigkeitshalber hier. Auch an diesem Käfig gibt es nur einen Kaltschuh Anschluss, der sich zwangsläufig oben auf dem Käfig befindet wegen dem Akku Fach und dem USB-C Anschluss an der Seite. An den Aufnahme Knopf kommt man sehr gut und Einfach, Das Fach ist großzügig ausgefräst sodass man auch mit Handschuhe zum Beispiel immer noch sehr gut dran kommt um die Aufnahme zu Starten. Auch wenn man ein Mikrofone oder wie Ich in dem Fall den Empfänger des RodeGo am Kaltschuh sitzen hat wird der Aufnahme Botten nicht zum Teil verdeckt, was Smallrig im Gegensatz zu dem Pgytech Käfig einfach besser, cleverer gelöst hat. Beide Displays sind sehr gut einsehbar und man kann gut im Menü scrollen, auch da sind die Ecken und Kanten leicht abgerundet und Flach gefräst, sodass der Käfig beim Scrollen im Menü oder bei anderen Einstellungen, die man Vornimmt nicht stört. Auch wenn man an beiden Displays eine Displayschutz Folie draufhat, passt Sie trotzdem in den Käfig ohne Probleme. Natürlich passt die Kamera auch in den Käfig, wen man mit Filter arbeitet. Ich denke das alles in allem dieser Käfig auch durchaus sehr gut durchdacht und umgesetzt wurde. Die Verarbeitung, Material, Passgenauigkeit sowie die Farbe ist ein sehr gutes Gesamtpacket und qualitativ ein Top Preiß Leistungsverhältnis. Wer sich für diesen Käfig entscheidet, wird durchaus zufrieden sein mit seiner Anschaffung und wird auf keinen Fall das Gefühl bekommen Geld versenkt, unnötig ausgegeben zu haben. Auch dieser Käfig ist allemal, eine sehr gute und bessere Alternative, zum Original Käfig der Osmo der ja mitgeliefert wird in der Box.
