Faultless Iron Soleplate Cleaner

Easy to use no left over residue and removed dirt from iron with one wipe no smell

Great product. The plate of our iron has numerous recesses on it where any sticky material collects. Had previously tried steaming with salt with little success. With this product any burnt/sticky marks on the surface was very quickly removed using a cloth, as was most of the sticky material in recesses removed by applying a little of the paste before rubbing with a wooden tip.

This product works if used as instructed. However it will take more than one application for heavier burnt on stains

I really rate this because it works. It's easy to use but I find you do have to give it a bit of elbow grease. I use it by folding an old tea towel into four and draping it over the very edge of the ironing board. Put a small amount of the iron cleaner on the tea towel where it's at the edge of the board then once your iron is up to temperature rub the burnt part firmly over the cleaner and the marks should start to come off. Depending on how burnt the soleplate is you may have to repeat the process a few times putting more of the cleaner in a different place on the tea towel each time, ( I keep an old tea towel specifically for this job and just wash it when I do my cleaning cloth wash ) There is a bit of an unpleasant smell whilst using the cleaner but it doesn't linger. It's worked for me every time I've used it and I always keep a tube of this in the cupboard.

I’ve given 3 stars because I have used this product recently to remove a lot of melted on fabric from the bottom of my parents steam iron, and in conjunction with the Lakeland hot iron cleaning mit (now unfortunately discontinued) it worked really well. I decided to get some of my own but when it arrived, although still sealed inside the pack, it was leaking from the base so I will be returning it. Incidentally the product does not look the same as the picture in the listing…it’s possible it may have changed and mine is the new look, but also possible that I was sent a really old tube.

The quality meets the described standards. Delivery was prompt.

I am very sceptical about things like this so didn't take a before picture! I really wished I had after I'd done it 🤦🏻‍♀️ It worked a treat 👌🏻 I hung a flannel over the edge of my ironing board. Put a line of the paste on the edge where it hung so I could get more pressure and control over where I was cleaning. It did smoke and smell a bit but nothing like I was expecting from reading some of the comments. It did take a bit of time but it was very satisfying to see the gunk coming off, I could have stayed there all day doing it, lol! I did use 3/4 of the tube so if I were you I'd buy 2 so you always have one available. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

The clarify I am reviewing the Faultless Iron cleaner. I have a Tefal steam iron that I have had for over seven years. In that time it has had some heavy use and as you can see from the photos some accidents here and there where I have burnt logos on T-shirts etc. I've got to the stage where it was becoming a risk to iron other clothes because sometimes it would damage them by leaving the residue that years of abuse had caused to the iron, onto the garment. I was about to buy a brand new iron but after seeing that the one that I wanted were all in the range of around £140 I figured it had to be worth giving it a shot. Especially as this only cost £5. Well I have to say that was money extremely well spent as you can see from the photos. I did end up using pretty much the whole tube but I did follow the instructions well, for a change. The outcome has been well worth it and hopefully breathed a few more years life into my iron. I would say the whole process took about 10 to 15 minutes. I put the solution on the cloth. Made sure there was no water on the iron and gave a good circular action clean over all the areas. I made sure that I refolded the cloth each time so I had a fresh clean bit of cloth to put the cream on. Good luck and I hope you get the same outcome. Last note. Make sure you use it in a well ventilated area near a window preferably or even outside if you can because the fumes aren't very pleasant when they burn up on the iron.

Vraiment je m attendais pas à un si bon résultat, je suis ravie la semelle de mon fer est comme neuve , à fer chaud , mettre un peu de produit et repasser une veille serviette éponge en appuyant un peu sur le fer , résultat immédiat 👍 vraiment merci pour ce super produit .

Prodotto acquistato per pulire la piastra del ferro da stiro che si era annerita, fa egregiamente il suo lavoro. Da usare sulla piastra calda, usando un panno di cotone, pulisce perfettamente. Veramente ottimo. Lo consiglio.

Cleans the iron like it should. Hard to find in the local store anymore. Glad to be able to order it.

Lo he utilizado para limpiar goma quemada por contacto de una bota con el colector de la moto. Se aplica poniendo un pegotito en un trapo de algodón, o toalla (vieja pues se estropea) sobre el escape caliente frotando. Le he dado varias veces, cambiando la zona del trapo cada vez y ha salido todo muy bien sin arañar nada.
