Unsure about whether they'll fit? Read here.
As someone who is not happy with the recent changes to Gibson - truss rod covers with "Standard", "Studio" or "Traditional" written on them, bulky Rotomatic tuners (which make them look like an Epiphones), speed knobs that look like the wheels from a skateboard and, worst of all, the Min-ETune - I wanted to give my 2012 Hummingbird a more traditional and vintage look. I knew I wanted to replace the clumpy, kidney bean-looking Grover Rotomatics to these vintage machine heads. Before buying them, I had doubts as to whether they would fit properly and whether there would be any visible scarring at the back of the headstock. It was hard to come across any reviews with feedback on this matter, so that is what I'll address here (if you also have those doubts). If you are looking at replacing your Rotomatics with these, they fit perfectly. No additional bushings are required to fill in the space and you do not need to hack away at the headstock to create a bigger hole. I did some research beforehand and if you were to buy Gibson tuners, the cylinder (that goes through the hole in the headstock) doesn't have the same thick base that Grovers have, so you would need to buy bushings separately so that they fit nicely and don't move around. These bushings can be found at www.stewmac.com. I imagine the same would apply if you were to get Kluson, Gotoh or Schaller tuners, so I would suggest replacing your Grovers with Grovers. The single screw holes left by the Rotomatics also line up where one of the screws on these vintage tuners is, so there is no need to worry about whether there will visible scar at the back of your guitar. Unlike the Rotomatics, there are two screw holes on these machine heads. If you're like me and are afraid of drilling a hole into your guitar in case you permanently ruin it, there is no real worry about that. I attempted to just put the second screws in with a screwdriver and it worked out fine. As long as you use a proper screwdriver and take care while you do it, it should turn out OK. Having the machine head locked in and one screw already in place, the tuners are held in tight, so there is no real risk of them ending up crooked when you put the second screw in. They look amazing, they cover up any marks left by the Rotomatics and they're great at keeping the guitar in tune. Grover is a highly-respected brand which produces great tuners for guitars, so you can put your trust in them. So, if you want your Gibson to look like a proper Gibson and not like an Epiphone, then I'd definitely recommend getting these. They may be a little bit pricey, but if your going to make a permanent adjustment to your guitar, you may as well go for the best.

Exact replacement for Gibson tuners.
The Grover machine heads were exactly what I wanted .. to replace worn out ones on a 1970's Gibson J45. Fitted exactly as needed and are very smooth to operate.

Top quality machine head tuners
I fitted these on my 1995 Gibson SG Special to replace the originals which were worn. Wow, the quality of these is much better than the Gibson originals. The design is much better with less wriggle room for the tuning pegs so it feels much more solid. The price from the USA is good compared to UK prices, even with import tax. Delivery was made in around 7 days. Really happy

Fantastic but caution...
Top quality machine heads without any shadow of a doubt and look far better than the even the photos show. However it is worth noting that they would not fit the Epiphone Les Paul Special that I intended them for. It's only a small amount of cash for my local luthier to modify the headstock of the guitar but not everyone will want to do this. So check carefully the size of your post holes before you order if modding your guitar is not for you. I was lazy and didn't so my own fault. Still very pleased with my purchase.

Perfect fit and great quality.
I replaced the Klusons on my 2014, SG Derek Truck's guitar. These grovers are much better, they feel more substantial and easier to tune. They hold their tuning better. Straight swop, so easy to fit.

They are Green. Beware!
These are excellent high quality tuners and fit and work perfectly but beware. They're green, not yellow, white or cream.

Epic machine heads
The grover 135G Vintage Gold plated tuners are amazing! I bought them for a friend for his birthday and he was jumping around like a little girl LMAO! in all tho they are really good quality and hold the tuning, also the ivoy colour matches most vintage guitar because of the binding on the head stock and body. 5 STAR!!!!

Perfect Upgrade and Direct REPLACEMENT FOR GIBSON DELUXE TUNERS
These Grover Deluxe tuners are a direct replacement for Gibson Deluxe tuners. They dropped straight into the peg head on my 2018 Gibson Tribute Les Paul Goldtop. The Grovers turn more smoothly and hold the note well. I was disappointed with the original Gibson Deluxe tuner functionality. Basically, these tuner sets are identical except for the word Grover vs. Gibson and the shade of the keystone buttons. Looking at the Gibson buttons, they are slightly transparent, you can see a hint of the gear stem and it is slightly browner than the Grovers. The Grover buttons are completely opaque and slightly greener than the Gibsons. Both sets weighed the same at 6.7 ozs. These observations suggest both sets of machine heads are made at the same manufacturer in Taiwan, as noted on the Grover package. Top quality, fair price.

Great Tuner!
I have an old Epiphone Les Paul Special that I've turned into a project beater. I sanded the thick gloss off body and neck with 1000 grit sandpaper. It now has a really cool satin finish neck and cool matte like dull finish to the body which is a tobacco burst so it works really well. Any way I had to get rid of those completely junk tuners that come on the specials. You can't find anything worth a crap that will match up with the holes that I have found. So I said I'm just going to put what I really want on here instead of something that will match the holes, which was an easy decision since nothing matched :). These are perfect. Great price, killer vintage look, excellent performance. They keep the guitar in tune great now. Some time ago I also replaced all the wiring and pots as well as the input jack. So now all that's left is the pick ups but the pick ups are actually ok in my opinion so no hurry there. These tuners though made all the difference in the world both mechanically as well as asthetically. Not only do they look awesome the work as well as any tuner I've had. So there you go. Go get yourself a beater and let the upgrades begin! Peace

Love it!!!
I changed the tuners in my Gibson Les Paul Studio from automatic tuners to these. Love the vintage look and feel. Sometimes traditional is just better than any innovation.
