Grabbing this for work and home projects has been a good decision. Its light weight makes it easy to hold for extended periods, and the brushless motor seems to last quite a while. DEWALT’s quality and durability are apparent. I feel confident using it alongside other tools on the job site or during DIY projects at home.

This is such a great tool. The electric die grinder is a souped up version of a Dremel tool, for real jobs. Never have I had a more versatile tool for cutting, grinding corrosion removal and all things that a 4.5" grinder is to big for, and a Dremel is to small for. This will do anything a Dremel can do and better, and more. Having a cordless version after owning corded models for years, is a wonderful liberation allowing me to quickly grab this tool, for single jobs like cutting off a bolt, or sanding off corrosion on a ground connection quick and easy. You really don't know how handy one of these DeWalt cordless high speed tools is until you have one. My only concern is with this tool, I'd like the trigger to be able to be locked ON for some jobs, but I understand it's a safety feature so I won't quibble about that. Tool is sturdy, and powerful enough to do what it needs to do. It can accept smaller collets to use the 1/8" tools if you want to get into some fine work, but for most things, all the 1/4" tools that work with this collet system are great. No air hose, or electric cord to get in the way, and this tool rocks. What else can I say, this DeWalt grinder is highly recommended.

Almost perfect. It lost one whole star due to the fact that the trigger lock, which must be pushed out of the way and held there while using the trigger, is seriously annoying. The tool is the real deal, very powerful. However that trigger release is not ergonomically designed. Very very frustrating. Could have been the best cordless die grinder on the market but some clown had to ruin it with some ridiculous trigger lock.

I'm a welder-fabricator by trade and have used pneumatic die grinders for years. Recently I started playing with pipe welding using both GTAW and SMAW, but no longer had access to a good pneumatic compressor. Purchased this item since I already had a bunch of DeWalt 20 and 60 tools. It's absolutely fantastic for de-burring the inside of cut pipes as well as removing mill scale and oxidation in areas that would be difficult to reach with a traditional angle grinder. It's not a very loud tool, but powers through prep work and feathering metal tack welds and opening up bevels and open root passes. The LED lights also make it much easier to see what you are doing rather than working in the dark or trying to position a traditional work light so your arms and torso don't block it when positioned in confined work areas. I was nervous about the length of the tool, as well as the weight. Neither have been an issue, as the benefit of losing a heavy duty pneumatic hose that gets tangled up in things is well worth the trade. Unit works with 20 or 60volt batteries. So far I've used metal cut off wheels and tungsten carbide heads with great success. I am also planning to find a good drum sander for it. If you are already invested in the DeWalt line of tools, I would highly suggest picking one of these up.

Love this die grinder. I used it so many times. I wish I had bought it sooner. Get a nice set of bits, and you are set!

POR OTRO LADO, Y ESTO LO CONSIDERO UN PROBLEMA DE I+D, EL ENCAJE/UNIÓN DE LA BATERIA CON EL CUERPO DE LA MAQUINA, ESTÁ MAL DISEÑADO A MI PARECER, PUES AUN HABIENDO INSERTADO PERFECTAMENTE LA BATERIA EN SU ALOJAMIENTO (SI, HAGO EL CLICK), ESTA QUEDA CON UNA HOLGURA DESPROPORCIONADA, ANTIESTÉTICA Y QUE NO BRINDA MUCHA CONFIANZA. ME PARECE INCREIBLE, LA VERDAD.

Probably the best battery die grinder out there.

Excellent tool. Way more power than air die grinders and will rapidly remove material with a carbide bit. The RPM control is very convenient as well, depending on the task requirements.
