Great product. Worked immediately.
Wasn't convinced this would work as the knocking was pretty bad but it worked immediately. Fitted it just beyond my water meter. Noted customer comments about the pressure so checked mine before fitting with a tyre pressure checker. It sat at 2.5 bar and that looked to be about right according to other comments. Wasn't sure whether main connection should have had a rubber washer but not supplied so used PTFE tape. 15mm tee was standard compression connection so straightforward. Well worth it.

To bang or not to bang.
Excellent product, after creating a water hammer via relocating my underground stop cock I suddenly noticed a banging each time I shut off a lever tap in my kitchen or the washing machine valve closing. As I am on a shared water supply even the neighbours where causing banging pipes so realising that this WILL cause problems such as underground compression joints blowing I decided to give this little beauty a go, an absolute doddle to install with its compression fittings but be aware that you must use thread tape on the vessel otherwise it will probably leak. Installed successfully on the first attempt and happy days, no banging pipes. My mind is at rest knowing that I wonโt have to chop out my extension floor to access a damaged pipe. Well worth the price and piece of mind.

Works great after setting pressure.
Well made and looks robust. At first it made no difference, but after lowering the pressure to equal my water pressure, (a little over 2 bar) it works perfectly. The factory set 3.5 bar was to high for my system. You can easily check and set the pressure with a car foot pump. My pipes are now silent, even with a modern washing machine on mains pressure.

Looks a good device but doesn't fit washing machine standard fitment so returned.
Looks like a good product and I had high hopes for it solving my Hotpoint washing machine water hammer where a Sioux product had not done the job. However this fitting needs to be fitted to the pipework by a plumber (or very competent DIYer) which would have meant removing and refitting the washing machine cold water supply outlet valve to fit this in to the pipework, which is beyond my ability. Other products screw straight on to the washing machine outlet thread but I accept this was my misunderstanding so no criticism of seller but hopefully this will save others making the same mistake. Returned with full refund.

Buy this hammer arrestor instead of the "Sioux Chief Arrestor"
I tried the Sioux Chief twice and it worked for about 1 year then failed both times. This one you can screw into the same threads as the Chief. Initially it didn't work but........ I released some of the air pressure in it and then it was fine. It has a car type valve on it (Schrader) so you can balance the pressure to match what your water pressure is and it will work very happy with it.

Wish I'd tried this type first...
No more difficult to fit than the Sioux Chief type, which were great initially but I had two fail quite quickly. This one is still going strong 4 months on so far, and is easily recharged with a bike pump (haven't needed to yet). I'll buy or recommend these in future if I ever need such a thing again.

Difficult to get air pressure right, may cause other things to bang.
I installed this to prevent banging from a toilet fill valve, which I plumbed it in next to. Plumbing was straightforward - a couple of compression joints and tape round the 1/2 inch screw fitting, while leaving access to air valve on end. Initially, the fitting made no difference - toilet fill valve still causing pipe bang. The air pressure in the fitting is supplied set to 3 bar. I realised that my cold water mains is about 3 bar. Thus when the toilet fill valve shut off, the 3 bar air didn't compress and banging still occurred. I reduced the air pressure to 1.5 bar, so the air would be half compressed under mains pressure, and move when the fill valve shut off. Joy - the banging disappeared! Unfortunately, though, when the bath tap runs, the mains cold pressure drops below 1.5 bar, causing the air pocket in the fitting to expand, then pop back when the bath tap shuts. Thus the bath tap now causes banging!! In short, it solved one pipe bang problem and created another. My advice instead is probably just to fit some flexi connectors to toilet fill valves, taps etc, to add some give to your plumbing.

actually works well
had the pipe hammer issue on the main 15mm supply pipe after the stop cock, when any water supply called for.although, it reccommends to install near to the source of the problem i installed this on the end of the main supply pipe before the t split.after putting the supply back on adjusted the stop cock for a suitable pressure and now cured the problem no more banging from any source. good job
