USB Lens Heater

A simple item, keeps lens warm to avoid dew/condensation problems. Good Things: -Sort of elastic-y, seems to fit 50mm to bigger lens (see picture) -Will run all night on a large USB power brick, did not try with a small one -Has 3 power settings Where I live, cold is 35F, so I did not try it in the snow or where 'cold' is colder than that. Before using this I did have problems with lens condensation in situations where the camera/lens were outdoors overnight. This fixed that problem. Low worked for me (~40F) overnight. I did not try other settings. Did not use with 'star tracker'. Cannot speak to that, but I doubt that there would be problems. Bad Things: -None that I can think of

I use these on the lowest setting for keeping my 2" telescope eyepieces from dewing up and they work great. They seem to draw about 0.7A @12V or about 8W when cycled ON. But they are only drawing power occasionally.

The heater works pretty well. I gave it 4 stars for temperature control because it doesn't vary the current, it just varies the time on and off. It always draws 7.7-7.9 watts when on, pretty low if using it on battery power. The difference between low and high is just the amount of time it spends on. I measured the following temps. Low 92-95F, Med 105-110F, High 115-120. It's also padded well so no chance of marring your equipment.

The product works good to keep my lens warm for long shoots outdoors in the cold and in the night. It does seem rather cheaply made, with some seams on it already ripped fresh out of the box.

Bad cables/wiring make it spotty. Doesn’t stay on.

I use this with my camera in 30°F weather, just below freezing but my camera lens is kept to a steady warm temperature throughout the night as I am photographing the stars during a astrophotography session. I have a very large lens and this lens heater is able to wrap all the way around. It doesn't get too hot, where you can't touch it, but it's warm enough to prevent the lens from freezing.

Took forever to get here, but I tested it out tonight for the first time with my new lens (Sigma 14mm f/1.4). I let the camera run for 1.25hrs in single digit temps (F) with this strapped to the lens on medium and as you can see from the picture, everything was frosty except the lens and camera (reg chem handwarmer taped over battery compartment). It was plugged into a 10k battery bank (also handwarmer taped to it) and it all worked out really well!!

I really like the elastic velcro attachment. I means I can get a nice secure fit a round the telescope.

fonctionne très bien, la longueur de 300mm est suffisamment longue pour couvrir tout mes objectifs RF et EF de 35 à 300mm F4. Le seul problème et ce n'est pas rien, assurez vous de l'utilisé avec une batterie portable qui peut fournir une (basse tension) si non la batterie s'éteint automatiquement et vous devez constamment redémarrer le dispositif. Je l'utilise pour astrophotographie, empêche la rosée de faire une condensation sur la lentille avant, cela fonctionne.
