Brilliant product
I had an old pair of Yaktrax that finally snapped this week. I can't manage on snow and ice without them - so ordered a new pair straight away. These are an amazing product - walk in slush, snow or on sheet ice with total confidence. Unlike other products, there are no sharp spikes to damage carpets, pathways or yourself! Instead, the metal coils give a grip that means you can walk safely and confidently. I've recommended these to loads of friends and they have all been satisfied with the purchase. I also bought a set for my Mum who was really having trouble getting out in the snow - and she walks really confidently in them. I have to also say that delivery was fantastic - ordered on Sunday afternoon and they were delivered to a local locker on Tuesday morning (and the next lot of snow arrived on the Wednesday - so I used them straight away. That was standard service. I'd give 6 stars for the product and the service.

Great Traction
I bought these for my wife after having previously bought a pair for myself. The 'Pro' version of the Yaktrax are well worth the small increase in cost as they are easy to fit, the extra velcro strap keeping the fit snug across the instep. They are great to use, giving fantastic grip on compact snow and ice. Although they seem best on walking boots, they also work well on trainers and even on wellies! The sizing is accurate, so don't give in to the temptation to go up in size to allow for boots etc.

Works well but..............
I bought 3 different sized sets of these for dogwalking etc for myself, my partner and my elderly neighbour. I checked the sizing very carefully before I ordered as we all have different sized feet. In use they definitely do the trick-not a single slip, even when walking on thick ice and compacted snow with a layer of ice on top. Could walk with confidence on all surfaces. The only snag is they are really hard to get on. My neighbour (admittedly he is in his early 70's) couldnt get them on at all, I had to put them on for him but they werent easy for me either. Once on though they are very secure and I am totally confident that they wouldnt come off. My partner has a pair of the more commonly seen studded types which are supplied by work. These go on far easier than the Yak Trax but then he says that they dont stay on very well. Also he finds that the studs also pull out or break. The Yak Trax are certainly the superior item if you can get them on your boots in the first place!

Marvelous things!
I bought these as I am a professional dog walker, and the thought of tottering around on the ice attached to the likes of an akita and a doberman didn't appeal! Finally had a chance to use them since the snow this week and they were excellent. I found it a little hard to get the first one on, because they obviously need to be tight fitting and it took a bit of muscle to stretch it over the heel, but I soon got the hang of it and the second boot was much quicker. I have to admit to a little trepidation the first time I went out in them, so I tried scuffing and sliding one foot on a particularly icy bit before I tried walking. It hardly moved at all, never mind slipping, so I set off and was soon walking at my normal speed (which others tell me is quite fast). The pavements were a mix of deep snow, icy patches where the snow had melted and re-frozen and cleared places, while the road surface was as smooth as glass; the yaktrax handled all of these conditions with no problems and didn't feel strange or obtrusive on my boots. Take care on tiled or laminated flooring, though, as I did feel a little unsteady after putting them on in the tiled conservatory and walking to the door. All in all, though, a marvelous bit of kit that I think will be indispensible over the next few days!

Good, but could be better
I ordered these for a recent trip to Iceland. Although they were extremely useful, I wore them most of the time whilst there, they did not stand up to the harsh conditions. After two days the rubber broke. I continued to use them and they did stay on my boots. They were not that easy to put on, but my daughter helped me with that. They were really easy to take off. I would certainly recommend them for anyone who has to walk over icy ground, they grip well and gave me the confidence to walk over the ice. I would like them to have been a bit tougher.

Grip well but quickly fall apart soon afterwards
These grips are reasonably quick to fit and definitely improves traction on ice. Sadly our 2 pairs both started to fall apart after just 1 use on the pavements of Trondheim for around 1 mile and we opted to fix them up with Tie Wraps and some nifty work with a Leatherman Multi Tool. The rubberised cords which run through the gripping 'springs' are not man enough for the job. Buy grips with wider flat strap connectors or with chains & teeth. Useless unless you just want to keep a set in your car for the odd emergency - and then throw them away soon after.

they work
i have had my Yak trax for 3 years now and i haven't lost any, they haven't broken (touch wood) and they fit on my different boots, maybe they might not last another year but i have been extremely happy with these, they were expensive but every time we have had snow they make walking SO easy, last year in the west midlands we had 6inch deep snow that lasted for weeks starting Jan to easter with a few breaks and they coped with all that snow. i find walking in snow very hard work in normal boots but these stop you slipping and are amazing for what they are which is springs on rubber! i have not tried any other type of shoe grip such as the ones with spikes as i find these very good. I have size 6 feet sometimes a 7 boot and these fit well. definitely 100% recommended.

excellent and safe product
I put these on (that takes a bit of effort especially the first couple of times until you get used to them) and instantly felt safe on the snow and ice, was then able to walk normally again. On the other hand, when you get indoors, they feel a bit odd on shiny floors, as they feel a bit rolly on the springs, so you need to be a bit careful until you get used to the feeling. I found it easier to keep them on rather than putting on and off, as you do need to pull hard to get them on. Seem well made and good to last for several winters. I did drive ok in them too. Best on sturdy boots probably.

Very nice & very fast delivery. This was my original review but I have to change it. These were delivered to me Dec 29, which I was very impressed with, but they really weren't worn very often, until recently. They have completely fallen apart. It has been very icy here recently with some rough ice, but I thought they were made for that. They have actually been in this condition for the past week but I have had to continue wearing them in this condition because it is to dangerous without anything.. Maybe you had other complaints, not sure but I felt the need to report it. So disappointing. I will try to enclose some photos.
