A solid (around) $1.3k gaming laptop.
I'm not the most technical of users. So I'll save the specs talk for others more capable. But I'll do my best to lay out what I can. It arrived in August 2023 and have been using as my main set up it ever since. So far it seems fair for the price. Love the black color but you may want to consider a keyboard cover if your hands get naturally sweaty or oily. Otherwise you'll be wiping it off every now and then, it shows up more on black. I tend to baby the laptop. So I can't tell you it's durability. I'm not eager to test it or my luck (mostly because of my luck). The ability to play games and watch movies has been great. GTA V, Fallouts, Total Wars, RoadCraft, Sons of the Forest, Ready or Not, Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord, Kerbal Space Program, and Cyberpunk 2077 to name a few. All run fairly smoothly. I haven't even upgraded the memory yet. A few things to keep in mind. One because I missed it of my own absent mindedness. I didn't realize there was no internal DVD/Blu-Ray drive. No big deal as I resolved that with an external one. That helped with the movies and shows. There is also a heat issue. It can get hot in the top right and left corners (around the escape and delete buttons) if you don't manage your settings (I use Armoury Crate & MSI Afterburner to tweak that) or are doing heavy work. These areas are around the exhaust ports (on the sides & back). Also worth remembering in hot weather (which I'm reminded of as I type this in a hot and humid Summer). The next issue is the battery. I'm in a semi-rural area where the lights flicker if the wind blows or rain falls hard enough. I also run the battery the on long life setting with MyASUS. If you aren't doing anything heavy and reduce some of the showier lighting features. It'll hang around for a while. But when the power goes out. I know to save and hold off any gaming. That way it doesn't burn through power in case I need it. Finally there is the weight. It is on the heavy side. So keep that in mind when you decide how to carry it. A backpack or messenger style laptop bag would be my suggestion. I'm going to give it 5 stars because it's doing nearly everything I needed it to so far. The DVD/Blu-Ray drive was an easy work around. I would recommend it.

Great high end laptop.
Bought this for my middle's 18th birthday a few years ago. The only issue is that the hard drive has gotten filled with games, videos, and pictures, so now I'm looking at "Upgrades" for this laptop. Until then they can uninstall games they don't play any more, and reinstall them later, and move their pictures and videos to an external drive. The laptop itself has been great, its taken multiple 24 hour uses, and the battery seems to be holding up, but will only last about 90 minuets before needing to be charged again. for a top level performance laptop this is to be expected. This laptop does not come with a touch screen, but the video quality is excellent. For a laptop this is kind of heavy, but again for a high performance laptop this is to be expected. The power charger is quite large and requires a high wattage, again expected for the performance laptop, but makes long trips an annoyance as my outlet in my vehicle (120V 110W) is not powerful enough to even power the laptop on with its charger.

Great performance, EXTREMELY fragile screen
I really enjoyed using this laptop for the few weeks I’ve owned it. Especially liked the high refresh rate of the display panel. That is, until I made the mistake of bumping the lid while it was closed, which completely obliterated the ****ing screen. This kind of damage I’d expect to happen if the panel had taken a direct hit from an airsoft pellet, but nope, just a random bump on the lid from the normal everyday jostling that laptops go through (AND MUCH CHEAPER AND CRAPPIER DELL LAPTOPS CAN HOLD UP TO WITHOUT THEIR PANELS EXPLODING). Needless to say, I’m extremely pissed off. Laptop looks cool at least, just don’t stare at it too hard or it might randomly shatter…

Great computer with amazing performance
First, off the bat the computer is quite large even within gaming laptops, but unlike older builds that are large and waste space, this computer has no space wasted. Prior to this computer I owned an older strix, and the improvements are extremely noticeable. Being that unlike the older builds, this computer deals with temperature with much more ease. My biggest complaint about the older strix was that the fans were too loud and that the temperature of the computer was unbearable. However this computer has exceeded my expectations, and so far I'm having a blast.

As described.
First at all, item came sealed and that's an important thing, I've read some issues with other laptops where upgrades didn't worked as expected. This model doesn't bring the num pad on the track pad and that's pretty sad, i was aware that other models had the capability. IMO it's pretty lightweight an portable. The shipment did arrive on time but i started using it a couple of weeks later. Warranty by asus starts to run since the Registration of the product. As you can see in the pictures the box doesn't bring exchangeable caps for the back, i own a tuff FX506LH and a cool plus of that one was a page full of stickers, to give a little change of look and share the happiness of use such a nice computer, this Strix being a nicest model didn't bring ñ that kind of cool gift. Ive tried few old games and few professional software, so i can't share my experience with enough conviction, i took a bit of time to update and complete the initialization, while playing the good oldie CS 1.6 fps went down from 350+ to 100 or less between preloaded modes of operation, am not sure if it's fair to say that it's OK since that game doesn't consume a lot of resources to make it suffer, am still need to learn how to switch manually from the rtx to the integrated AMD Radeon to see an compare differences. Now, mi big disappointment it's about the quality of the sound, i own a dell inspiron 5555 AMD A10 and that laptop from 2015 has an astounding quality of sounds and 3d effects using same JBL quantum earphones in both laptops, the lower quality came surprisingly in the Strix, am not sure why, maybe the AI noise canceling, or the driver selected, ill try to keep learning and working on personal tweaks and I'll be updating the review as soon i can figure out more facts.

Very good gamin laptop
This is the first gaming laptop I've gotten and I really love it. It has really good performance, lots of storage, very good graphics, and overall a really nice laptop. The fans are mostly quite (from what I have experienced) and can be somewhat be noticeable, but that is to be mostly expected from a gaming laptop. But, for its price, it is a very good gaming laptop without having any performance cutbacks from having a lower price. Would highly recommend.

A good starting laptop
So I myself have a ROG Zephyrus that I bought back in 2020, and it is still running strong to this day. My son, who is 12, wanted his own gaming laptop, and I figured ROG was the right choice. I needed something that could run Steam, Xbox, and all of the other things that my son uses. So the Ryzen 7 was a must. The Strix definitely fit the bill, and the Armoury Crate does exactly what it needs to do to keep the laptop from overheating. My only issue was that it takes a minute for the screen to actually show anything when it first starts up. I noticed that in other reviews, so I’m bound to believe that’s just an issue with this model. It’s not a huge issue, but it is annoying. It also took an insane amount of time to update it once we opened it. But I think that would be true for any laptop with how often Windows updates these days. My son loves it. We also bought the ROG mouse and headset to go with it, because I haven’t found a ROG that has good sound quality. And the turbo fan is just as loud as the one on my Zephyrus, so I’m confident we won’t have issues with overheating. Overall, this is a great starter gaming laptop for the price point and everything that it comes with.

Good COmputer
I am really happy with the computer, however, sometimes the computer does not display anything for few minutes when I turn it on.. is this normal? I cannot contact support to check, so I can only return it

Excelente compra
