A solid addition to my shop...
What it's not: If you need to cut heavy steel, you might be disappointed here, that is, I'm cutting 16 gauge sheet steel easily, or, 'reliably' might be a better word. I've not attempted to find it's absolute thickness-cutting limits, but 16 ga. is a pretty standard thickness and somewhere quite near its limits. -Not for dependable straight cuts. If you need perfectly straight cuts, as a rule, this might be a disappointment. You CAN get them done, but it requires some layout and focus on your part. IT DOES: Cut curves and miscellaneous shapes quite well. I've been doing leaves and flowers, bells and such a lot lately and I find this shear to be just the thing. I can say that I love it as an addition to my metal and smithing shop. The video shows it's facility in use and my concept for installation, which allows for optimal flexibility in my shop.

Poor
Absolute rubbish! Donโt waste your money. It cuts ok-ish in a straight line but cutting curves and circles, even in 24 gauge copper, is difficult. The product video is very misleading. The cut edge is also extremely jagged and sharp so if you are foolish enough to waste your money, like I have, be very careful of the cut edges. Update, after using it for a few cuts (to try to find some redeeming qualities, it now wonโt even finish a cut! It leaves a little tag connecting the cut pieces, so I have to use snips anyway. If I could give zero stars, I would.

Does what it says
This little shear is an excellent choice for the light duty/home fabricator, especially if you donโt have the big $$ for a more professional model. Needs to be bolted to a STURDY workbench, with plenty of room around it (depending on the workpiece). I cut 16ga pretty easy & precise. Recommended

Great Product for the Money
For the money this thing works awesome. It great for cutting out small patches for rust repair. Itโs quick and cuts 18ga steel no problem at all. Time will tell how long it will last but Iโm pleased so far.

Easily cuts curves and straight lines
I had a metal guillotine that I used to cut out repair panels for car restoration. It occupied a large patch of valuable bench real estate and while good for straight lines, was not suitable if you wanted a curve. The Kastforce is much smaller and has a clever ratchet system which lets you lift the lever when it reaches the end of its travel so the cutter can be engaged again without moving the work relative to the cutting edges. Serrations on one of the cutting wheels pull the work through so there is no need to make sure it doesn't get dragged to one side, as conventional guillotines tend to do. Since cutting happens at a point and not down the length of a blade, the work can be easily turned to form a curve. I have mounted my Kastforce on a piece of angle iron which allows me to clamp it in a bench vice. This has given me back a load of bench space, especially since I can take it out of the vice and put it away after use. The maximum thickness limit of 1.5mm steel is not a great handicap since most car body panels are thinner than this. If you need thicker material get the angle grinder out. This is a great tool for a good price, highly recommended.
