If you already have a modem with decent internal antennas, then this is not likely going to be an improvement. Likewise if you have decent external antennas.I personally found that no position I put this in could do anything more than an adequate job at best. There was always an obvious trade-off between downstream and upstream bandwidth, and even with that trade-off at the extremes it could not match or exceed that of the setup I already had for neither downstream or upstream. It should be noted that the speed could be crippled to the point where it could be as low as 1/3 what it would have been otherwise.The only scenarios where this is likely to be of any use is if you:- Have a modem with subpar internal or external antennas;- Wish to place the modem in a different position (since the cable allows you to do so).If you have a modem with SMA connectors and you do not care where you place it, then something like the HAUNT-BL315/W315 (black/white) would be better. Seems to offer the best speeds in conjunction with a B525.
