Great performance and a solid value
I have been using this flashlight frequently for several weeks and have had a great experience with its performance and with the purchase. The flashlights arrived quickly and in nice packaging and were ready to use out of the box. The light is bright and the beam spread is sufficient to easily navigate through pitch black nights in the woods. The light shines bright over a distance and it is by far the best compact LED flashlight that I have owned. I use the light for camping as well as for work on household projects, and the flashlight performs well. I have owned several compact LED flashlights and this one is the brightest, has the longest reach, and best beam spread. The construction is solid and capable for rugged use. We live in the mountains where there are no street lights and we use the lights almost daily to walk on our property or to walk to neighboring home and the compact light has replaced our big bulky lights. Great value and a great product.

Excellent mini tactical flashlight
I wanted a bright mini flashlight to use at my desk to offset my vision loss from Macular Degeneration so I purchased a Aohoyaca brand mini flashlight from Amazon with a rechargeable, supposedly lithium battery, which turned out to be a very substandard version of a (non)long lasting battery. It worked fine for the first couple of months that I used it, only requiring recharging every 3 or 4 days. Then it started going dead after recharging with only a few minutes use, so it wouldn't hold a charge, something unexpected from a lithium battery that had only endured a couple dozen charge cycles. So I went looking for a better alternative when I found this GearLight unit. I have a couple of larger GearLight tactical flashlights with removable 18650 rechargables that have performed well and lasted over 4 years, so I knew them to be reputable. One thing I like about the minis is that they use a regular AA battery rather than using a cheap rechargeable. So I ordered two and after 4 months, they're still working perfectly and the batteries are lasting long than I thought they would. I would highly recommend the GearLight if you're in the market for a small-form flashlight. At roughly $12 a piece, the price is fair and the build quality and performance are solid.

Easy to carry brightness
A pint sized two pack that delivers! This was my second purchase of this product. Likes: ☻ small but bright ☻ three light settings ☻ twist design zoom feature ☻ it is designed for water, weather, and shock resistance ☻ the anti roll feature ☻ pressing firmly on the power button turns the light on and off ☻ a gentle press on the power button advances to the next setting ☻ if left off for 10 seconds the setting defaults to high ☻ the front strike bezel is a plus (not tested) ☻ it is compact and lightweight and may be carried easily ☻ a strong belt clip provides carrying options ☻ it is powered by 1 AA battery (2 were included in the box) ☻ two flashlights come in the box ☻ the price is okay (I purchased first in March, 2018 and subsequently in June, 2019 for $12.99) Dislikes: ☹ one of the flashlights has a functional issue in that it does not default to the high setting when left off for more than 10 seconds, and also exhibits a similar problem when cycling through the settings ☹ there is a difference in the quality of the light emitted by the two flashlights; one has a yellowish tint while the other emits a crisper and whiter light beam note: both of the dislikes are relative to the same flashlight Suggestion: ☹ price could go a little lower This flashlight is sufficiently bright, easy to operate, comfortable and compact enough to carry on my person daily if I choose to do so. While during the tests that I ran I did encounter functional setting issues as well as a yellowish light color with one of them, I have not had any real issues while using them for the purpose that I purchased them. The lights have never failed me and the issues stated above never came into play during my routine use. It is only when I compared the two lights that the differences became noticeable to me. So the bottom line is that I am happy with these purchases. While this was my second purchase of this product I do not know if I would purchase this product again as there may be better choices available now.

Great price, great features - Updated 9/2/2020
Update 9/2/2020: I've used this flashlight for over 2 years now, and I'm happy to report that mine did not have the problem with defective on/off button mentioned below. Original review: I bought this GearLight flashlight to replace a similar flashlight with a different brand. There are many vendors selling what appears to be the exact same flashlight design under their own branding. This flashlight is manufactured in China (regardless of the branding). I replaced my other flashlight because it had a defective on/off switch. Many people have reported this same problem with other brands of this flashlight design. It appears that some units are reliable and some are not. I've not had my new GearLight branded flashlight long enough to confirm whether or not it has the quality control problem with the faulty on/off switch. If I experience a problem, I'll update my review of this GearLight flashlight in the future. Reliability is important when it comes to a flashlight. It needs to work 100% of the time. Potential reliability issues aside, I REALLY like the features of this flashlight. PROS: The light is bright enough. You can zoom in/out for a wide or narrow beam. It's made of solid metal. It doesn't roll off the edge of a table when you set it down. The on/off button is conveniently located. You can stand it up on either end. It takes a single AA battery (rechargeable is ok). Battery lasts a reasonable amount of time during usage. The high and low power settings are useful. It's got a belt clip. You could attach a lanyard (not included) if you want. It generally turns on at the HIGH setting (if you haven't turned it on/off within less than 10 seconds). CONS The strobe mode is a minor annoyance. I don't like having to toggle through that mode. But other people might have a legitimate use for this feature, so I admit this isn't really a con. I'm really hoping this flashlight doesn't have the on/off button problems that I've experienced with other brands of this flashlight model. If it ends up being reliable, it's a really great flashlight.

Cheap and bright.
These are great to throw into the car, a backpack, or drawer. they use 1 AA battery that lasts a decent length of time and is easily replaced. I've ordered several of these and have not been disappointed. Some buyers have stated they received non-working lights or lights that failed quickly but I haven't been plagued with that. They are cheap enough that when one finally does fail I'll toss it out and order some more.

Good, bright flashlight. Larger than expected.
I compared these flashlights to one I purchased several years ago, which uses the same AA battery. I found these lights to be significantly brighter. In addition, I like the zoom feature which allows a wide field of view up close as well as better "throw". In short, I'm well pleased with this purchase and can recommend these flashlights without reservation.

Impressive Flashlight for the Price, but reliability concerns
UPDATED: Most of my original positive comments about all the features / pros of this light still apply. However, I have to lower my star rating due to long-term durability concerns. After the one year warranty period had ended (of course), the flashlight started having problems either not turning on when the button is clicked or sometimes randomly turning off while using it. It’s not the battery, I changed it - and when it’s working it’s still bright. It’s probably a problem with the switch or internal wiring/contacts being too delicate. Disappointed that this light did not last longer before having problems as it was an excellent little light for the first year or so. I guess low cost lights just aren’t built to last long. Side note: I’ve mostly switched to using small flashlights by Anker and others with USB rechargeable batteries in order to avoid having to replace/dispose batteries and avoid the dreaded corroded battery problem that plagues traditional flashlights if you don’t use the light for a while and forget to remove or replace an old battery. I didn’t see any corrosion in this light causing the problem, but just wanted to share that comment for those considering what kind of light to buy. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I just received the 2-pack of the GearLight M3 LED Flashlight and am very impressed with these lights for the low price point. I read reviews for numerous small LED flashlights before deciding on these, and so far no regrets about the decision. They are very compact, but very bright, attractive design, feel solid and seem to be well built, are easy to use, run on a single AA battery (with the option of rechargeable), and have only the features you really need (zoomable, high and low, and strobe which is less useful generally but still good to have). The 3 lamp settings are actually very easy to toggle, contrary to some of the reviews - you just cycle between the modes with a half-push of the button once it's on - default mode is high. If you really only want to use it in high mode as many reviewers have stated, you can just turn it on and off with a single full-push of the button - no need to cycle through the 3 modes. The zoom function also works well and has a great zoom range for a compact flashlight, focusing in to a small, very bright square (the shape of the LED element). The belt clip is nice to have as well. I can't speak to the longevity of these lights since I just got them, but I'd expect as long as you change the battery before it corrodes, I think these ought to last a long time. And while a lot of these small LED lights appear to be very similar, this particular company seems to stand behind their products better than some of the other makers/sellers out there - full replacement for one year and clear contact info for getting the replacement. Overall, I'm pleasantly surprised and very satisfied with this purchase. I'll be keeping one of them in my gear for camping trips and keep another in the car. Not much else to say really - It's a very functional, easy-to-use, compact, bright LED flashlight with only the features you need for a very low price point when you get the 2-pack. If you're reading this, it probably checks all the boxes you're looking for in a small affordable light. Shine on into that dark night!
