Build Stuff with Wood: Make Awesome Projects with Basic Tools

A must buy for anyone interested in woodwork! This book is a godsend for anyone who is a novice in woodworking like myself. I'm someone who has limited woodworking knowledge and that is why I wanted to learn to be more practical and self-sufficient with my hands! this book teaches you to dive in strange away without being complicated and confusing it's actually the opposite, easy to read and very clear. There are a lot of projects to get your hands in and start woodworking. Also, I must say I've even talked to the author on his blog and he has been very helpful in recommending tools. Who would have thought years ago you could buy a book and within seconds of receiving it contact the author. So if you buy the book and have any questions or advice it's very refreshing that you can ask the author for some helpful advice.

I have read this book cover to cover and am enjoying going back to it. Some of the projects are not for me, but the insight into the techniques, the masterclass short-cuts or rather time/resource savers are fantastic. Whether you are looking for a lockdown project, expanding your skills or just starting in your wood-working, this is a great reference book.

Present for son-in-law. He thought it had some good ideas and felt inspired to try a couple of the designs. Attractive, good illustrations.

I had the luxury of meeting the author before the book was published, and heard and saw some of the projects during a presentation, and immediately pre-ordered the book. When it came I was totally pleased by the high quality of the projects, writing and photos. Asa has a passion for beginning woodworkers and this is a perfect book for them. I am fairly experienced and I can say that I learned more than enough to justify buying this book.. His emphasis on simple and more common tools has caused me to re-think how I approach some of my own projects and not always gravitating to more serious woodworking power tools. I hope he writes more

I have been woodworking for 20 years and recently bought this book for a friend who wanted to get started in woodworking. I wish Asa's book was around 20 years ago as it would have made me a better woodworker faster by helping me select the right tools to get a proper start in the hobby. I would highly recommend this book for someone just starting in woodworking! (And there are some useful ideas and great projects for us "old timers" too!")
