Nicely made EDC with replaceable blades.
I always carry a pocket knife. This one is tiny, always sharp because of the replaceable surgical blades and very easy to carry. All steel so good durability. One thing to point out. The blades are VERY SHARP. Be careful with this as you would with any knife and pay extra attention while putting on a new blade. You'll be holding the working end of the blade so use reasonable caution. When you dispose of a used blade consider wrapping a piece of adhesive tape over the sharp edge just in case. Sharps precautions.

Great build quality, just be careful closing it
Open just fine, the silver finish looks great, the small size and included case is great for hobby desks, small so super easy to bring along if ever needed. The only thing is closing the blade, BE CAREFUL, YOU MIGHT CUT YOUR FINGER, it's so sketchy due to the tension or whatever it is that makes it snap out of it folded out position in a jumping manour

Slick little knife set
UPDATE: My mom still loves the scalpel kit and uses it daily. She also bought one for me. I've been using mine as a box cutter and craft knife for cardboard, which is bad for the blade yes, but - it can just be swapped out! That's the beauty of a scalpel - you can get a different blade shape or a brand new blade whenever you want. When you move on from one craft to another, the knife can move on with you. It'll never sit collecting dust because it can become just about whatever knife you need it to. I got this for my mom, who is a taxidermist. She wanted a folding scalpel so she could get better organized and have less blades lying around her table. Not only does this scalpel solve that problem, it comes with a metal case. So it's a complete kit - it has storage for everything. The scalpel is a friction lock, so it does not go totally rigid. If you press on the back of the blade, it will start to fold in. So it takes a bit more skill to use this knife, but you can also lean on it with your thumb. I think it would be a good whittling or carving knife. Overall, it's a good gift and it pulls its weight very well as an EDC item. Many people like making survival kits out of small tins, and this set here is a good start for a kit like that. It's very hard to do better than this for ten bucks.

Good but not great
Smaller than I expected. Was plenty sharp and worked well. However, saftey wise I was worried about the fact that it doesn't lock when in the open position which caused it to close slightly with back pressure which was a little worrisome for me.
