Is the 8' a spinning or cast rod?

If the rod is labeled as a casting type, then you'll notice the eye guides are oriented pointing up while using the rod because the bait casting reel mounting will only allow for the reel to be installed on top of the rod. Spinning rod are the opposite. Eye guides down on the rod and your spin reel is underneath the rod. They don't come in 13" I have the 12" it can cast 4-8 oz . Effortlessly. It's a two piece rod.
