Easy to install, fixes issue with blank video on KVM switching
Grog said this device would do the trick, and indeed it does. Now when I switch my KVM from PC to PC the monitor displays the correct screen in about a second. Thank goodness. (Not sure why the KVM device doesn't do this, but this was a simple fix for my 4K 60Hz system.

Works with KVM and 2 laptops.
Works- only problem I have with the adapter is that it will only run 119/120hz or refresh rate at 1080P. 2k and above will run at 59hz. I have had this weird bug where if I upscale it to 4k (my monitor is a 2k) and back down to 2k, I get a noticeable black bar on each side as the window as if my monitor didnt support it. Unplugging helps reset it back to full fit.

Got my audio back.
Worked like a charm. Needed to connect my PC media center to my living room TV through an older amp. PC wasn't recognizing the amp as as an audio output though it would display. Added this and done.

Didn't work
Unfortunately these didn't work for me. I have a pair of 4K monitors on a non-EDID KVM so I bought these for my MacBook Pro to deal with app window placement issues. When I plug these in my Mac doesn't see the full range of scaled resolutions - only a small set of options, all of which look bad. These don't copy then mirror the EDID data from my monitors, instead they show up as "Woieyeks" monitors.

Plays nice with USB 3HDMI (DP over USB3) adapters.
I had issues with my Kubuntu 22.04 setup with a USB adapter. When I would switch the monitor inputs, or turn off my screen, switching back of turning back on would make the system go nuts. Putting these in-line, those issue have been pretty much resolved.

Do NOT hot swap these!
They automatically register the EDID and echo it back. But donโt hot swap because you will blow it up. Otherwise, they work well.

well made and reasonably priced but did not pass-through any signal at all ! Just a blank display. maybe it works okay in some instances but not for me. Cannot recommend this
