I was skeptical at first because I’ve never used pool filter socks before. They came, and I was surprised by the quality and then by how well they hold up and catch debris from the pool. They don’t just fall apart. I think they’re well worth the price. They’re easy to place over the basket as well. They stay in place in the water also. When first placing them on the basket, it almost gives a fresh trash bag effect (staying near the top of the basket, but once it’s in the water, it’s goes down into place just fine. They’re really great! You can see all the tiny particles it helps keeps out of the filter and more.

I have an 18-foot diameter above ground pool in central Texas. Due to high heat, intense sunlight, debris from vegetation in the area, as well as frequent use by many people, the pool will turn green in a heartbeat. So far this year, we have managed to keep the water relatively clear but we have been getting algae and other debris deposits on the bottom. This requires vacuuming up on a daily basis, lest the pool "bloom" with an out of control algae situation requiring a lot of $$$ in chemicals to clear up.Unfortunately, while my handheld pool vacuum WAS getting up a lot of the algae and debris each time I used it, it was also sending out out billows of algae/debris through the water exhaust. Those billows would make the pool temporarily cloudy. I'd run the sand filter for a few hours (Usually people would be in the pool at this time), let everything settle overnight, making the water again more or less clear, and then vacuum again at noon. Rinse and repeat. Another issue was that the vacuum's filters (Like a poly-fill material cup) would get debris stuck in it and trying to remove that debris was cutting the life of those filters.I got these pool skimmer socks to address both of those issues. I use two pool skimmer socks at a time - One on the inside of my handheld pool vacuum's poly-fill filter, and one on the outside. The pool skimmer socks were highly effective at stopping most of the billowing. In fact, it was only after vacuuming more than half the pool that I could detect any billowing and it was just a little, comparatively speaking. I solved that by switching to clean pool skimmer socks when I was halfway through. After vacuuming with the pool skimmer socks, the pool water remains crystal clear. All the debris that I previously would have had to pick out of the pool vacuum's poly-fill filter now washes easily out of the pool skimmer socks.I've used the same pool skimmer socks (4 total) for almost a week now. I've been able to wash them clean each time (Just a tiny bit of green is beginning to stain the seams now) and so far, there has NOT been any detectable decrease in their efficacy. I think the packet of 50 pool skimmer socks will last me quite a while.These pool skimmer socks have been an affordable and highly effective game-changer for my pool maintenance routine - I highly recommend this product.

This item works great for debris that would normally slip through the strainer and get stuck in the filter. Cheap enough to change weekly and just toss with caught debris and replace with new sock. Highly recommend, 52 socks cover a whole year.

These are awesome for keeping all of the random tree flower debris out of my filter, greatly reducing my need to backwash. Of course I need to clean the sock out every morning but it's better than sucking it through my pump and into the filter media. Good find, and recommended.*** *** ***ALSO - great alternate use! These are FANTASTIC for using as camera lens wraps!! They are very soft and stretchy and cover most Canon primes and mid-zooms even just covering my 400mm Canon. I use these to wrap before placing into my camera bag or into a lens pouch to add a soft layer and a bit of dust protection. I use one on each lens and body, and have a few extras stashed in my camera bag.

These work FANTASTIC—but you absolutely have to clean or change them regularly. If they get too full, they can restrict the suction.I use one on my skimmer basket and another inside my vacuum leaf canister, and they fit perfectly on both.What really sold me on these was when a large floating mat we had in our pool finally reached the end of its life. It started disintegrating into what felt like a BILLION tiny blue pieces all over the pool. I cannot even explain how many there were. They were everywhere and practically impossible to get out.I put one of these socks on the skimmer basket, and within just a few hours it was completely loaded with tiny blue pieces. I cleaned/changed it and did the same thing repeatedly over the next three days. Eventually, ALL of those little blue bits were gone.The crazy part was seeing how much this caught that otherwise would have gone straight into my pump and filter. 😬Now I use these regularly, even when my pool doesn’t have a disaster happening. These fit perfectly over our basket and catch so much extra pine needles etc before it’s goes into the filter - they are especially great for helping get rid of pollen in the spring - you would be amazed how much pollen you get within a couple hours - I find you really need these in the spring to keep pool fresh and clean - you do have to keep an eye on how much you are collecting as it will slow the water going into the pump - I check every 3-4 hours in the spring - once a day in summer and we don’t use them over night just to ensure nothing gets clogged up - yes we run our pool almost 24/7 we like our water clean and clear moving -
